So, this is short and to the point - this Resort is one of THE BEST we've ever stayed in. These few issues , while disappointing , were magnified only because everything else is so perfect! Our 1st night check in we little issue because the Inn subscribes to DirectTV and we had wanted to watch the Saints game. It was not available on the hotel TV and we had to use an app on iPad to use Amazon Prime I believe. We called concierge to see how to stream it to the Samsung TV as there were no menu items available on the TV. Concierge said they would check and call back - this was the night of Dec 21st, 2023. No one ever called back so we had to watched it on the iPad. Oh well... the next day, or maybe the 23rd, I asked at the front desk before breakfast if there was some way to check and see if there was a way to block out the sun from shining through a set of room shades that was waking us up - the sun was lighting up the room. He said yes there way a way and that someone would put up a block/cover - someone would come to the room and do it. No one came or called. Oh well... Christmas night, we get back to the room after a great Christmas buffet a the Inn. The buffet was stupendous and all of us had a great meal - the food and selection was fabulous! I turn on the TV to watch my favorite team, Baltimore Ravens, game at 8pm, looking forward to relaxing in bed as its always a treat to watch TV in bed as we dont have one in our bedroom at home - its kind of a vacation treat - and we see that the local channel is not available because of the DirectTV Inn subscription does not include it!!!! So it was playing in their bar, but not the room. So now no Ravens game - ugh.
But location a plus, Margarita our housekeeper was most helpful and did a great job keeping our room spotless. The beachfront restaurant food was delicious - filet cooked perfectly, Pittsburgh medium, excellent wild mushroom side and the flounder dish and wedge salad were excellent. The bacon on the Wedge was 1st class and all was cooked perfectly. The shops have much to choose from and we even purchased some clothes. We enjoyed a visit to the pool and the kids had a blast at the childs pool.
Thank you and good luck with the Relais & Châteaux...
Read moreWe booked 2 queen beds online and upon checking in the front desk representative informed us we had a king bed instead. This would not meet our parties needs for sleeping arrangements. They proceeded to offer a "roll out cot" instead, that would not give us any walking room. I didn't pay these prices to sleep on a cot. The representative agreed with me fully. After back and forth discussions we ended up paying an upgrade to get the King. The rep also told us we should never book online as it is not reliable and are not guaranteed what you think you are getting. PVIC why do you offer online if its not accurate and your employees know this is happening? Then to top this all off, we sat outside the pool area for 5 hours because the pool was closed because of the weather. A staff member at the club recommended we stop at the front desk and ask for a day pass for the pool because we couldn't use it and we paid so much money. Customer service is dead at the Ponta Vedra Inn and Club because they said they couldn't give out day passes because the demand is to high now and the membership prices have doubled to 65k (with a waiting list) because of high demand. So you don't have the room available that I booked online and prepaid for(representative check in said online isn't accurate), I have to pay for an upgrade to get what I originally booked, and your top management wouldn't let a child swim in the pool at no cost to the club because the demand is so high for the facilities! Mr. Dale Haney are you aware this is how your team is treating your guest on the ground? I have been a paying customer here for many years and this is by far the worse the staff(management) has treated us. We didn't ask for anything for free (paid close to $3k) and even paid hundreds of dollars more to stay because the Inn messed up our reservation and you wouldn't let a child swim in the pool another day because the demand is to high for the pool. Please reach out to me Mr. Haney to...
Read moreWorst experience ever, & we have been going here for over 30 years. First no pools at all- under construction for next year and it’s a noisy mess, but that was not what upset me. The VERY limited room service menu didn’t send me over the edge either. It was the horrible customer service. I was told by the front desk clerk that the noise in the next room, well I just needed to adjust to (“deal with and be understanding”) noise as a “football game was on but I could call if noise was still going on after football was over.” I am not even joking. I am not paying $600-$800 a night to be told to simply suck it up. The new renovations have resulted in paper THIN walls- I could hear everything, and I mean everything, from the room next door. Furthermore, two locks were broken in my room. There was no way to go to the beach and also lock my hotel back door, although the same front desk clerk told me false information on that also. Then, when I continued to have noise issues, the front desk phone was not answered x 58 rings (yes I counted), then 2 other calls went unanswered. There was an entire list of things that were wrong that I gave to the manager- mostly because I was so appalled. We have stayed there well over 50 times in the past and zero issues, but this was SO bad, I don’t think we can go back. The valet did not even open the door for us (rude). The whole experience was so surreal- if it had not happened to us, I would not have believed this since all of our former experiences were excellent. Then manager said he would take $300 off our bill (which I did not ask for or care about since I was paying for quality of my stay) and it seems even that was not done. The positives are the location and the new rooms are lovely, but not lovely enough to put up with the noise, and plain flat out incompetence of several of the staff members, three in particular. I really am still upset- that was our favorite...
