This hotel might be older but they keep the rooms clean. Their breakfast is good. The price is reasonable. The pool area could use more furniture but when we were there for a weekend we didn't notice many people using it.
From my first visit I left a review on Trip Advisor.
We are from the area, having lived on and off in Martin, Saint Lucie and Okeechobee counties since the late 70s until late 2005, mainly Martin County. I had also worked for a city in Palm Beach County.
We have many family and friends in the area still.
So we know that there are not many actual hotels in Okeechobee but there are more motels.
We had wanted to stay at a hotel while traveling to visit and stay with some family in the Port St Lucie area. We were originally only going to stay in Okeechobee area Saturday night but had left Northern Florida a day early and decided we did not want to stay in the Orlando area like originally planned.
We called up Hampton Inn in Okeechobee which is outside the city but blocks away from some friends. My husband quoted me the price they told him over the phone, which was $189 and then we called up Best Western which we were quoted $79.
So we decided to test out the Best Western.
We did not expect much but got so much in return! The first thing, the staff is excellent. They are efficient and helpful. The rooms were somewhat dated but they were clean and more than what we thought we would get for the price. The Continental Breakfast was more than what we expected and what was hot stayed hot and what was cold stayed cold. You would not believe how many places fail in that area.
The Saturday morning hotel clerk Mary was taking care of the front desk and handling the Continental Breakfast and maintaining the breakfast area. We ended up staying 2 nights there due to the quality of the room and great customer service.
It isn't that far from the lake and if you need anything you are right in town so you don't need to travel that far to get what you may need.
No issues here with the smell of the room or the...
Read moreFrom another business owner I booked a room at this establishment through a third-party site for $100, only to be met with an hour-long ordeal at check-in due to their outdated system’s inability to process my card. After finally getting into my room, I was somewhat appeased by the front desk clerk’s offer of a late checkout at noon and permission to use the pool until 2 PM, as I was attending a nearby event starting at 4 PM.
However, the next day, while enjoying the pool, a woman in a business suit approached me at exactly noon, questioning whether I was a guest. I explained that I had stayed in room 115 and had been granted a late checkout and pool access. She curtly informed me that I had checked out at noon and needed to leave immediately, stating that the pool was for current guests only. Her tone was rude and unprofessional, and she mentioned having called the police on guests before, which felt like a threat.
To add insult to injury, I had just spent 30 minutes cleaning bugs out of their neglected pool. The room I was upsold to for $160, advertised as a suite with a jacuzzi, was a disappointment. It smelled like smoke, was cramped, and the so-called jacuzzi was a small tub in the corner. I have attached photos to illustrate the poor conditions.
This experience was far from the relaxing stay I had anticipated. The management’s behavior was unacceptable, and the amenities did not match the descriptions provided. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a pleasant stay in Okeechobee. All in all : The woman who checked me in was an elderly Spanish lady she was super friendly and very accommodating. However, the management team ruins everything about this day and was very disappointing to see a business ran this way in the department of customer service and...
Read moreI have stayed here before while visiting family and had a great experience! This time though was completely different. We checked in around 9pm and our room was filthy! Our feet were BLACK from the disgusting floor so we wiped up the floor with towels. The bathtub was stained and dirty also! Just to late to switch rooms. I had to get more towels in the morning and showed the front desk girl the filthy towels from wiping up the floor and she seemed to have cared less. Said she would she let the owners know🙄 2 days later @ around 10 pm on Sunday night I receive a call Asking for my CC info because they billed It wrong and again I made a complaint about our room being remodeled and all She said was Oh they shouldn’t have rented that room and then nothing. I was on my out of town due to a Family emergency and couldn’t drive and give my CC info right then. Today I received another call with a threat this time that if I didn’t pay the 69.00 by Friday they would call the sheriffs dept! 😂 We will NEVER go back and have never been treated with such disrespect anywhere else. We’ll be staying at KOA from now on where it’s always clean and they are more than happy to help. Honestly 1...
