Before our stay at this hotel recently I called 5 days prior to see if I could get an early check in because check in isn't until 3pm and our family had reservations at Penns cave at 3pm so I asked if we could check in early due to that I was told we could check in by 1pm the front desk clerk even made sure with the housekeeping manager to make sure and she said she made a note of it and that it would be fine and that our room would be ready. So the day comes we arrive shortly after 1pm front desk clerk Tara was very rude from the get go said there was nothing about an early check in and that we couldn't check in I ask to speak to a manager she brings back the housekeeping manager I explained I called 5 days prior and that she told me there wouldn't be an issue and she says well if we check you in early there is a $50 up charge which was never mentioned previously she said it's a new thing they have to do so we pay the $50 up charge, then the housekeeping manager goes to see if the room is even ready she comes back minutes later and the room isn't ready, we have no choice but to wait and in the midst of all of this there is zero apologies from either Tara or the housekeeping manager just straight attitude as if we were putting them out. Finally we get into our room the floors in the room were never cleaned but the rest of the room was ok. The next day we go to check out again Tara is front desk and again with the attitude from her. Just an unpleasant experience from beginning to the end will never stay at this hotel again. Zero hospitality, very unprofessional staff, seriously Hampton...
Read moreMy car broke down on I-80 during a snowstorm at 10 pm on a Friday, about two miles down the freeway from this hotel. I had a cat and dog and cockatiels with me, as well as my slightly terrified teenage son. The night desk manager Natise reassured me that they would let us stay for however long we needed, even though I found out later that this hotel doesn't allow birds at all. They knew we were trapped 150 miles from home and didn't have great options, so they made an exception. We did our best to be polite and quiet. Now we know for future reference we probably can't stay here because we usually travel with the birds, but I will always be grateful that they saved us during the worst storm in two years.
The other staff seemed pretty friendly and helpful. We refused maid service the whole time but they always checked in to make sure we didn't need anything. Also there were free water bottles and snacks to purchase. The free breakfast is pretty great too. The beds are some of the more comfortable ones I've had to sleep on and the rooms are stocked with fridges and microwaves. All in all, not a bad place to be trapped for...
Read moreI’d you’re staying here for Penn’s Cave, it is okay. It’s about 20 minutes away and really in the middle of nowhere. Closest town is about 10 minutes. The hotel overall is clean but we had leftover hair in our tub and sink. Overall, the hotel is dated and needs a remodel. The beds are also very firm along with the pillows. No down pillows at this Hilton. Our air conditioner was also crazy loud, like a train, and was only remedied by me putting the fan on the lowest setting. The TV signal often went out and the floor lamp had a strobe light effect and couldn’t be used. The worst part by far was the breakfast and customer service. Everything except the oatmeal had meat in it. They had sausage in their biscuits, sausage gravy, and pork in the eggs. This is not inclusive for anyone who doesn’t eat pork or for vegetarians. The only non meat option was oatmeal and it was cold and tasteless. When mentioning all of these things to the staff, including the room issues, they couldn’t be bothered. Just thanked me for my input and went back to their paperwork. If I ever go through this area of PA again, I would not stay at...
