We stayed at this hotel twice since June 2022. Was driving to Ohio and this was the halfway stop. In June of this year We were in a dingy room, very hard bed, and the air conditioner stopped running at 8 PM. It just stopped functioning. We decided to tough it out and get out very early the next day. ||I called early August spoke to the front desk person, about possibly staying one night, ||August 21, 2022. I conveyed the past experience to her, she apologized and i asked if she could get us a room that had a working cold air conditioner, and a room that was clean. She said "ofcourse" and said she would put us in a clean room and one that had a new air conditioner, in fact she gave me her " word". I trusted the "Hospitality" business would want to provide good services for paying customers. ||It was room 339, it ought to be a museum, it is frozen in time and the air conditioner on the wall had lived a long time. It was a "carrier" model, it had buttons you pushed down and dust assaulted my face as I was leaning over, pressing the button that said "low". It did next to nothing to cool off a room that was clearly closed for several weeks. I waited but it never cooled down to a comfortable room temperature.||I also want to point out that the lady at the front desk read my request for a working AC, since her co worker gave me her word she would put in the notes for the reservation. But this is what we were "assigned" . ||We barely slept and again left very early, I had Lysol wipes with me, I cleaned the rooms table, the AC unit had rust around it and copious amounts of dust. ||I said nothing as I was given my receipt in the morning. People were eating breakfast and I did not want to make a fuss. What I paid for the room was the going rate, with an AARP discount. This is what I think about this type of service and treatment of paying customers, I have a good hunch that since we are "seniors" it is not important to The Quality Inn at Mill Lane , Lamar PA to treat mature adults well, or to keep their word and honor what a person has requested. ||So, I will not ever go there again, i travel that route often, I know they will not care, and I would warn "seniors" to be aware of this practice at this Quality Inn. ||If you do not believe this review and find yourself in that place, ask for room 339. The management knows that these rooms are not fully functional, and will respond with the cursory response, that they apologize on behalf of all the team....

Room smelled like urine. I immediately assumed bathroom. floor was nasty. hair everywhere. I wiped up floor myself, rag was very dirty. lamp on nightstand had not been moved when cleaned last. the bottom was all sticky and stuck to night stand. I also cleaned that up, another dirty rag. coffee pot was disgusting, the entire thing, every part. I dont use those. curtain was hanging down on one side so I went up to fix it. cobwebs....... room had not been deep cleaned in who knows how long. bathroom door stuck so bad it was very hard to get out. we just didnt shut it all the way. pull out sofa couch was run down, parts sticking out from under which tells me it was broken. under cushions was dusty, and hairy, old bed card was laying in there. thank god we didnt need to use it. Cold showers. hair in tub. cracked lampshade. Bed was clean and comfortable but, top flat sheet was obviously for a double bed. need to vacuum between bed and nightstands. fridge didnt keep everything very cold. we used ice. A/C had no filter and look like it hadnt been cleaned ever. My biggest complaint, I went to front desk to get my key reprogrammed. 2 people were being waited on. I was waiting my turn. a delivery person came in with what I assume was lunch. the women behind the desk finished up with the lady who was checking in. and then took her food from the delivery person put the food in back came out paid her and then waited on me. To me that is not hospitality. No I did not ask for another room upon check in. we would probably had been switching rooms all night..... The bed was clean and we were only in the room for sleep and showers. I did sleep well. very quiet. I also noticed a few doors down that a door handle panel was hanging on with packing tape. really? I am surprised you were ever at comfort inn standards for cleanliness. This is what gives Quality Inns a bad name.

yes, I stayed at an employee rate. everyone should get the same service no matter...

I would never recommend for anyone to stay at this hotel for multiple reasons. My first and foremost reason was how me and my boyfriend were treated upon our arrival. We walked up to the front desk to check in and were almost immediately questioned by the front desk worker as to our reason for staying. Which I know it is common to ask so I replied with just leisure. The lady looked at me and said we don't allow locals to stay here. She said I can see you live lock haven and we don't let locals stay here. I proceeded to ask what she means and what that means for us. To which she replied we only allow locals to stay in extreme circumstances like your pipes burst but you both I guess look like responsible people so you can stay. I have never before heard of a hotel turning down business because of where you live and never been basically discriminated against because of that. Once we got our keys and headed to the room we noticed the building was slightly run down. Which it's an older hotel to my knowledge so we didn't mind that part. We got to our room on the second floor and we were immediately greeted with a mold or mildew smell when you entered the room. It wasn't over powering thankfully but was powerful enough that you could smell it through the whole room. The mattress was very solid and frame was extremely creaky. Every time one of us would get up to use the bathroom we would wake the other person up. The bathroom was dirty. I completely understand that a hotel has hundreds of towels to wash daily but I do think they should update they're towels if they're all stained. I get if one or two towels get stained and you don't pay attention to it but almost every towel/wash cloth we were given had stains on them. The floor was disgusting. It looked like it hadn't been swept or mopped in a long time. There was previous guests hair on the floor and tub as well. It was just overall not a...

I wish I could give this place more than 3 stars, but staying at so many choice hotels and being able to compare, it equated to a 3. Everything was okay, but not great. The room was okay.. but not great… the toilet continued to run and disturbed our sleep. There were just a lot of maintenance issues in the room that added up. It wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great. The breakfast, like the room, was okay… not great. The coffee and juice machine were down which was inconvenient, but we just made coffee with our room coffee maker. The staff were trying so hard! I admired them a great deal, but Im not sure how much support from management they were receiving. Management seemed quite absent while the staff was left scrambling when things were going wrong. I don’t think I would stay here again if we were in the area, but I also would not dissuade others. It was okay for the price we paid.

If you’re looking for a peaceful yet convenient getaway near the state park, Hidden Valley Lodge checks all the boxes. Nestled in the heart of the countryside with stunning mountain views, this cozy lodge offers everything you need for a relaxing stay without breaking the bank. Located just minutes off the highway, it’s incredibly easy to reach yet feels miles away from the bustle. We loved how close it was to the local state park—perfect for hiking, birdwatching, and scenic drives. Waking up to misty mountain views and chirping birds was a dream. The rooms were clean, spacious, and had a rustic charm that fit the natural setting. Friendly staff and smooth check-in made our experience even better. Bonus: great local diners and farm stands nearby. If you want comfort, nature, and the best price around, this place is a hidden gem.

Stayed here to visit my sister, who was staying there for work. Walking into the lobby smells great, large social/breakfast area. Some holiday decor, it was clean. Rooms, an update would help. You definitely can hear your next-door neighbors. There were ants on the hotel room floor. The change machine and I noticed several vending and an ice machine were out of order. I had to drive to a local business and get quarters so I could dry laundry. The breakfast they put out was very nice, clean, and the ladies caring for it were great. The cleaning staff was kind and helpful also. I am posting a picture of the amazing view I had during my breakfast.
