Georgia Palms and Gardens – Atlanta’s Hidden Oasis for Unforgettable Celebrations Tucked away just outside the bustle of Atlanta, Georgia Palms and Gardens is a true hidden gem—an enchanting venue that perfectly blends Southern charm, natural beauty, and heartfelt hospitality. If I had to make another decision about where I had my wedding it would not be here. Reason being would be I felt like i received 0 service on my wedding day. There was one person on the site after 9 however she was there to give another client a tour! She even let them come back to the bridal suite to take a look. My husband and his best friend put out all the chairs for the ceremony the day before the wedding. My mother and aunts cleaned every chair and every centerpiece when we booked the venue we were advised we would receive table cloths, chargers and 3 glass cylinder vases. Which we did receive but the vases chargers and chairs were dirty. My mother, aunts and myself cleaned each and every one of them. I would’ve had my ceremony in the back but there were ants under all the benches and I felt like my guests would have been bit up. I notified them of this several times before the wedding date. I also felt rushed during cocktail hour while portraits were being taken. Basically made me even more stressed. We did not get a chance to finish and I did not get many photos. I do not advise booking the dj with the venue unless you just want to hear a soundtrack. There was literally no help with organizing my wedding day from the staff. I felt like our money was taken and that’s literally it. My family helped with getting things as perfect as possible and if it wasn’t for them none of these things would have been taken car of.

Peaceful, welcoming home. The beautiful stately building is a landmark in itself, which is only enhanced by the hospitality and kindness of the staff. I was greeted warmly for breakfast after a late night check-in, which was smooth and easy due to the clear instructions provided the day of my arrival. Parking is ample, and the walk to the house is well lit. My room was spotlessly clean and well appointed and I had everything I needed, including extra blankets in the closet. Breakfast is downtime comfort food and fresh hot coffee, served in the brightly lit front room. I felt secure and relaxed for my entire stay. This is my second time staying at GPG and I look forward to visiting again in the future. Great fit for a business traveler looking to escape the austerity of modern hotels.

This was the worst experience we have ever had with a B&B. We made arrangements with the owner to check in at 3:00 rather than 4:00. We called when we were 30 minutes away to let him know that we would be there at 3:00 and he assured us that was fine. We arrived and there was nobody there. It was locked and vacant. We waited 30 minutes and an employee said she was driving by and saw our car. She called the owner and he gave her the front door code so she could let us in. It took many tries until the door finally opened. We spent some time in our room and then went out for a couple of hours. When we returned, the code would not work for the front door. We tried repeatedly to use the code we were given. It was a cold night and it was very frustrating to be locked out. Called the owner and told him the code was not working. He lead me through it several times with no success. He called the mother of two girls who lived upstairs next to our room so that she could call and tell them to let us in. After another 15 minutes, a teenage girl opened the door without saying a word and stomped back upstairs to her room. We got to our room and prepared for bed. The bed was pushed against the only window in the room and the upper window would not close. Cold air was coming in. We tried covering the open window with a towel which did very little to solve the problem. There was a portable heater in the room which we turned on in order to be warm enough to sleep and hoped it would not cause a fire. The next morning we showered in the tiny shower. In the recessed area there was a bottle of body wash with only a few drops in it, a container of something called deep pore cleaner and a container of a woman’s product for washing away odor and discharge. There was a knock on the door telling us that our breakfast was ready. We went downstairs where there were two paper plates wrapped in aluminum foil and plastic utensils. The food consisted of two slices of bacon, scrambled eggs and two pieces of toast. It was certainly not fancy but it was good. The orange juice was in a carafe with plastic cups to drink from. The orange juice tasted so bad that either it was very old and had spoiled or some creature had died in it. We gladly left and had coffee and orange juice elsewhere. We laughingly called it the Bate’s motel and will...

This was my FIRST experience with a B & B. I didn’t know what to expect. I received a text with check-in instructions with great details on how to get in and access our room. I never saw an “employee” or “owner,” but was able to get into our room few minutes early, which was helpful because we had an appointment.

I was surprised to find I couldn’t lock my room when we left … so we just took all of our belonging with us instead of leaving the luggage in the room. (Maybe this is normal … but I had no idea!)

We came back to the room for the around 8:30pm ready for a hot shower and bed. Once again, I saw no one working at the property. We were shocked to find the bathroom didn’t lock. So my daughter and I went together so one of us could “guard the door.” (Again, maybe this is typical of a B&B stay, but I was not aware!!) We searched the bathroom for towels so we could shower, but found none. We checked the room, but nothing! There was no one downstairs to ask … no signs to tell us where to find towels… nothing. (Once again, maybe this is B&B policy, but I was not prepared for that!)

We went on to bed a little after 10:00pm. Around 11:30pm I was awakened by knocking at the downstairs door. I tried to ignore it not wanting to wake my daughter. It continued on and off for at least 10 minutes when I realized it had already caused my daughter to wake as well. So, I went downstairs and opened the door. There was a young couple there wanting to check in but they didn’t receive the text with all the information. I told them I was just a guest so I didn’t have answers for them. I asked if they knew the name of their room and they did. It was right next door to our room, so we let them in. Once again, I never saw an employee or owner of any kind. Luckily, I heard them knocking, otherwise I don’t know what they would have done! It took me at least an hour to get back to sleep! Ugh

We had an early appointment the next morning so we had to leave before breakfast. We quietly packed our things, brushed our teeth while guarding the bathroom door, then headed out. As we left, around 8:30am, there was no sign of movement or workers of any sort. We skipped out the front door and left.

I doubt I’ll do the B&B route next time … simply because it wasn’t what I...

First I would like to thank the owner and staff for being extremely nice and accommodating.|Now for our review: While the property is in a great location and has nice wedding related areas on the property, the rooms were nothing like the photographs. Also, we had issues with the front door but the owner talked us into getting in via the back door.|The room was extremely small and there was no place to set clothes, camera, … .|There was ample hanging space in the closet |Our window had only decorative sheers but nothing to block the light outside. The bed was comfortable but the headboard was not attached to the two single frames under the mattress. The carpet in the bathroom had to be partially rolled up in order to fully open the door. The shower had no shelves for soap. The water in the shower had such low pressure that it took me half an hour to shower. Only after my shower did we discover large pump bottles of soap, shampoo and conditioner under the sink. Someone had broken the conditioner bottle and it had run all over the cabinet under the sink.|Although the house is not as old as it looks, it just felt dirty.|Without any direct hvac system in the room, the noise from the main highway could not be masked, resulting in us getting only a few hours of sleep.|We went down for breakfast at 09:00 and could smell food being cooked but there was no food and the employees door was closed.|We immediately walked upstairs, picked up our belongings and went to the closest Holiday Inn, even though we had paid for two nights at the B&B.|We did not request a refund but I did contact them to tell them we would not be back and they could rent out our room.|It is my opinion that anyone planning on staying in the B&B prior to or after a wedding will be sorely disappointed.|Again, the grounds and venues outside of the main structure appear to be excellent places for weddings. Just avoid...
