We were greeted upon arrival by the owner, who opened our room (205) for us. The room was large, cozy, and spotless - especially the bathroom, which was also large. We especially loved the large shower, and the mini fridge had a real freezer, unlike the mini fridges at the other places we stayed. The king sized bed was also a nice touch. As we had been warned by the hotel in advance, trains did go by a few times in the middle of the night. Yes, they woke me up once or twice, but it added to the charm of the hotel.
The location on Princeton's main street is perfect, across the street from a small park and close to lots of places to eat. For breakfast, we walked five minutes to the Coffee Cup Family Restaurant, which serves diner classics and amazingly low prices.
I would gladly stay again at the Knox Hotel - the room we had was beautiful and comfy, and the location is perfect. As we were getting into our car to leave, the mayor of Princeton stopped by to say hello and ask about our stay - he was driving by and saw the out of state license plates. It was a great end to a wonderful stay...

Anyone who enjoys history, old homes, or antiques is sure to fall in love with this place. The entire vibe is old-timey and beautiful from floor to ceiling. They've managed to remodel with modern conveniences, all while keeping the integrity and original beauty of this hotel at the forefront of every project.
In addition to the overall looks of the hotel, the staff is wonderful. Dane, the manager, is super responsive & extremely accommodating. We drove from about 2 hours away and arrived slightly ahead of schedule and was able to check in right away. The building is secure, quiet and located across the street from an amazing cafe & other local shops. The train depot is located just a street over, but don't let that deter you from booking here. We hardly noticed the noise from the incoming trains.
We will absolutely be staying here again & can't wait to see what other rooms The Knox Hotel will offer after renovations are...

Hubby and I "happened" upon this hotel when they had only one (beautifully restored) room open. I couldn't believe the attention to detail. High end sheets, pillows, mattresses, soaps . . . everything. Not only did our room feel like a luxurious step back in time, nothing jarred us from the experience, even the TV was disguised by an antique frame so as not to interrupt the historical ambiance. This was one of the first times I talked my husband out of the chain hotel right next to the highway, but it was such a great experience that now he's treated me to lovely experiences vs hotel stays in subsequent road trips. We've had some amazing stays in other locations since The Knox, but nowhere has rivaled the attention to authentic, luxurious detail. I can't wait to go back when the renovations are complete! It will be...
