I came here with my friends for a 2 night stay and would say that I had a good time. This however, didn't come without A LOT of struggling and last minute additions. Hopefully this review will help as some sort of guide for those of us who are coming here for our very first time. To start off:

Campsite: The campsite itself was not bad. The site we got (85) had plenty of space for 2 big tents and amenities such as tables, grill, etc. They also have electricity which takes the standard wall outlet plug. The hikes/trails were all amazing and have paths that lead from the site onto the trail and back!

Restrooms: There are restrooms which for our visit were kept clean (as far as camping standards go) as well as showers. HOWEVER, the showers are pay to use, being 4 quarters for 5 minutes. There was a sign saying to ask the manager for coins and they would give them to you, but they wont always be there so make sure to bring your own just in case.

Cons: -The Website. The website is in DIRE need of a revamp. It does not have accurate sizes for the plot of land we are renting. We originally rented plots 81/82 because they looked big on the map and were said to have a driveway length 52 on the website, but when we got there, they were super small and crowded. The website also doesn't really specify if the electricity is for a RV Hookup or just a standard wall outlet, only really specifying that 3-4 sites are for RV's only, but still doesn't specify much. Perhaps I just lack the knowledge and terms on the site but for a 1st time camper, it was not very helpful. -Parking. Since the sites are somewhat small (and the site doesn't help much with sizes), the more cars you bring, the less space you have as you have to park on the site.

Pros: -Although some of my party members said some of the main staff in the office were rude, I didn't catch his name but the worker in front checking people in or helping them know where to go was really nice and friendly. -Scenery was really nice, the Bonita falls waterfall was beautiful despite all the graffiti. -Wifi is offered but only works in a certain area, as there is little no signal, allowing you to contact your family if you need to due to the lack of reception. -My party was able to upgrade our original 2 reservations to the bigger site, only having to pay the difference thanks to the managers, so that was super nice of them and made our experience way better. -Quiet time is quiet but you can still do stuff like be outside and talk quietly on your campfire, which is nice as I would not have enjoyed it if people were loud or had staff coming over to shush us!

Suggestions to campers: -If possible, if you are going in a large group, try to scout the area beforehand to see how many sites you need to be comfortable. We had a party of 10 and our original 2 sites were not enough. -Bring quarters, these are needed if you wish to shower and the staff aren't inside to give you quarters. -Bring walkie talkies, we brought 2 of them just for the fun of it and they turned out to be really helpful due to lack of signal if your group decides to split.

Suggestions to owners: -UPDATE THE WEBSITE!!!! Although it may be costly, i believe that having a website with updated info on campsite specifics, better photos, and more general information would serve to help boost your site and increase customer return.

I would personally like to comeback if we are able to obtain the same site we got but I don't think I can say the same if we get the normal ones due to size! But overall, this campground is solid, and I do think despite size constraints can give everyone...

CAMPERS BEWARE - Long but worth the read... We showed up around 2pm on a Friday, and no one was at the office to greet us or for us to check in. We rang the door bell as instructed on the door. A few minutes later someone showed up, apparently he was just a helper, and didn't work there. Looked through some paperwork on a clipboard on a table in front of the office. Couldn’t find ours. My husband told him our site # and he told us that someone was in our spot (looks like this person was there long term and had no intentions of being out of the site that day). He said he'd text the ranger for help and walked away, never saw him again nor did we ever hear from a ranger. We ended up parking in an open spot so my husband could try to find someone. He walked the whole campground but wasn't able to find anyone, even at the site the office notice said to go to. He went back to the office, flipped through all the reservations and finally found ours, at a different site number. They put us in another spot, no call or email to notify us of this change and no one could be found to talk to (we had booked this site specifically because of where it was located). My husband called them for info but of course there was no answer so he left a voicemail, to which he never heard back. The campgrounds are a dump. It looks like a homeless camp. It's not maintained well. There was trash everywhere. There was poop and cigarette butts all over our site. The picnic table was covered in paint and the boards were uneven and broken. There was a random toilet outside the bathroom. The Wi-Fi worked intermittently connecting and disconnecting randomly. The paperwork had a password but when you tried to login, it says wrong password. We went near the front office where someone was inside smoking pot (you could smell it really bad without stepping foot into the office) and ended up giving us a password for the Guest Wi-Fi but that was spotty at best. (Why not give that to everyone???) The pictures on their website are very misleading. They look to be the pictures of the long term resident sites, not for regular campers. It was my birthday weekend and the whole experience was horrible. We were super frustrated and extremely disappointed. I still don’t know who the rangers for this campsite are and we still haven't heard back after contacting them several times. We will never...

DO NOT CAMP HERE!!!!! It was the worst camping here, when I called to book the space I made sure to inform her we had a 5th wheel 27 ft trailer, when we arrived we discovered they had put us in the tent camping area. It was horrible to say the least!!!! The place looked like a run down swapmeet from the ghetto ppl blasting their spanish music all day long in almost every camp space, you could not tell apart one space from the other bcs it was ridiculously overcrowded with cars and tents. Its was so hard to get around we felt like we had been thrown in a low class camping ground in Tijuana Mexico (T.J) I really felt I was in Mexico (the border that is) the whole time we were there it was truly awful, they also say over the phone that they have electricity hookups but when you get there they do not allow you to use it bcs it will trip the circuit and they have tenants there that are mnthly who are the only ones in the park that can use the power. The restrooms are disgusting full of mildew and extremely run down good luck with toilette covers and toilet paper u better bring your own and bring a buddy too bcs the doors do not lock or stay closed. Oh and the icing on the cake, they were celebrating a Quincenera (Sweet 15) while we were there, yes D.J dancing and all that comes with a celebration like that, I will upload pictures of this horrible place as soon as I get a chance so you all can see what I am writing about bcs the ones they have on their website are not what it actually looks like. In conclusion I am 36 and never have I ever written a bad review on places i've stayed, but this one I just had to I don't want anyone else having to waste the very last weekend of summer at this place! Really do not camp here the name Bonita Ranch is just the opposite its should be called...

🚐⛺️BONITA RANCH CAMPGROUND & RV SITES⛺️🚐 - located in Lytle Creek, CA in the San Bernardino National Forest. This tucked away mountain oasis is a great camping (tent or RV) spot for families - especially in the fall. We enjoyed exploring the campground taking in the fall foliage, splashing in the creek & hiking to a beautiful waterfall for a past Thanksgiving break! ✨ This campground offers partial RV hook up sites, tent camping, sewer disposal for RVs, showers and bathrooms, water and power at every site. Accommodations for fire and fire pits are available for a fee upon request (be sure to plan ahead and request this - we arrived after the office closed and weren’t able to get one!!!!) ✨ 📍LOCATION: 900 S Fork Rd. Lytle Creek, CA 92358 ⏰ HOURS: OPEN ALL YEAR LONG, but check online for most up to date hours on their office. 💰RATES: $35/night ☀️CAMPGROUND ACTIVITIES: - Lytle Creek, a year-round creek that runs along the east edge of the park. Perfect for water play for kids & shaded relaxation for parents. - Bonita Falls Hike - a moderate, 1.5 mile out and back trail hike to a gorgeous waterfall over 100 feet tall. ✨ Have you gone camping yet this fall? ✨ HI 👋🏻 We’re The Hansens— a family of 5 dreaming of a homestead in LA County 🌾🏡. Had a reasonably okay - but not altogether pleasant - stay here last night. Booked online the day before, and arrived around 4 pm to find the office closed. The small table outside had a clipboard with a couple of site hang tags on it, but not ours; we noted that the ones that WERE there were for 4 days prior. Found a sign saying that if you need help to “go to Site 23”, but the map posted only shows the “Nightly and Weekly Camping” section which starts with Site 31. The adjacent “Long-term Camping” section was packed with RVs and they had no numbers on the sites that we could find, so we just found our reserved site instead; no one ever came by to check on us or check us in. This was one of the worst private campgrounds we’ve stayed in - resembling more an underfunded government campground than a private one. No one seems to clean the sites between guests, since there’s small bits of trash spread all over them. The (unoccupied) site next to ours had several picnic tables on it, and no one came to put them back where they belonged. There’s a combination fountain / water bottle fill station by the office that is completely non-functional. One of the long-term residents was playing music outside loudly enough all afternoon/evening that it could be heard in our area. Worst of all: the showers ended up being PAY showers, despite the fact that the website misleads you to believe that they’re included (with fire pit rentals and wood being the only listed add-ons). We would’ve picked a different campground had we known what this one is really like. All this having been said: water and power at the site worked (despite being mounted to a somewhat rocking/rickety post), and the dump station was clean and had a threaded spigot for rinse water so our basic needs were met.
