NOT ACTUALLY PET FRIENDLY OR HUMAN FRIENDLY EITHER. We are on a relocation road trip from Texas to Oregon and prior to even leaving Texas, I had called 5 different hotels to ask if they accommodated cats….none of them did. So it was a great surprise to see that this hotel when I called said they did without hesitation. So I booked it! Before I booked it, they verbally offered me the Wyndham reward membership to get a lower rate so of course I took it! Fast forward, we drive 12 hours and finally arrive here (feet VERY swollen because I am pregnant) and when I come to check in the man at the counter walks over begrudgingly and mumbles “how can I help you…” I told him “I’d like to check in!” And he said “okay..no pets right?” You can imagine my confusion at the question as the website literally says “pets allowed” and the person who booked me confirmed my cat was in fact allowed. So I told him this and he said..”nope…no cats allowed.” I’ll skip long boring details and give the one fact that this man legitimately argued with me for about 20 minutes (like full on catty argued) told me it was my fault and I made a mistake calling the number under their hotel name on google and it was my fault that instead of it connecting to him personally it apparently called their corporate call center in Sri Lanka where I would hear “foreign voices”. I said to him “people who type in this address and call the number associated don’t just assume they’ll be connected to a call center…especially people who don’t stay in hotels often…” and he dead looks me in the face and says “people with pets know these things…” he had a rebuttal for EVERY SINGLE WORD I SAID. mind you, when I told him that this place and corporate need to get on the same page with their information, he said they were on the same page and I was the one who didn’t understand that. He also said “it even looks like you only joined Wyndham rewards just to get a discounted rate” WTH?! 😂 isn’t that reason anyone joins rewards programs??? Was he trying to say I was cheap and trying to lie my way into a room I couldn’t afford? I could not believe my ears…at this point I was demanding my room and he was still defending his position as the building is being newly renovated and they simply can’t allow cats in the rooms. He calls his supervisor who comedically and almost immediately said “make the exception” and he repeats “you want me to make this one time exception and allow a cat into your brand new NEWLY RENOVATED ROOMS?” Almost to get him to try to freaking change his mind!!! And the man stuck to his guns so he was forced to put me in a room. Still, he ensured that I could only stay for 1 night and good luck trying to stay at any other Wyndham because this would not happen for us again. I am shocked and appalled by this grown man’s behavior and how terribly rude he was. The room was in fact newly renovated and still smelled like drywall dust and paint. It completely dried out our sinuses and skin no matter how much moisturizer we applied. Not to mention the walls were PAPER THIN and the room next to us had several children who were screaming and laughing super loudly and running in and out of the rooms slamming the doors until about 11pm. You know who didn’t cause any of that ruckus? Our “awful” cat who slept peacefully without one loud meow, and used his litter box when he was ready to go potty. Oh AND the town here, it’s got about 10 residents and all of them are cracked up riding bikes around at night or standing outside of the 2 restaurants here staring at people in their cars. Verrrry sketchy. If you can find another place, zoom on past Raton because there is...
Read moreI was very pleased with the room. Unfortunately, the staff was incredibly rude. When I checked in, I was under the impression my ID was checked fully. Yet when my guest and I got back to our room from sight-seeing, I was called to the front desk. When we got downstairs, I was told they were "informed" I was under the age of 18 and asked me to produce my ID. After walking back up to the room to get my identification, I showed it to the same woman that checked me in the day before. I asked her why she needed to see my ID having seen it the day before when I checked in. Her response? "Oh, I didn't fully check it". I also asked her to let me know who it was that spread this rumor and was told we would be informed. SO, about 2 hours later, my guest and I were walking out of the front lobby when I hear a man say "well she's underage so..", so I stopped and stated the fact I am not under the age of 18 and asked him if he would like to see my ID. He got huffy and said "oh no its fine" without even looking in my direction. My guest tried to calm the whole situation down by stating we had already discussed this with the manager and it had been resolved. He also asked him to tell us who it was who said such a thing and his response? "Well I'm only part time and I just got here so I don't know who it was." SO, if he had JUST gotten to work and the issue had been resolved hours prior, why were they still talking about it? While my guest was politely standing at the counter, I asked the man the same question I just stated. "If the issue has been resolved, why are you still talking about it?" He then proceeds to raise his voice and say "you don't need to get an attitude with me. We don't rent to locals. We don't rent to locals." I am VERY disappointed with the lack of respect and confidentiality in this establishment. Do not rent unless you are ready to deal with their attitudes. I understand WHY they do not rent to locals but if I am willing to pay $80 a night, why would you question my business there? If I was a "woman of the night", there are PLENTY of trashy motels I could have gone to. Also, we were never informed who told them I was under age. Again, I am very disappointed with the staff in this establishment and I wish I could give them 1/16 of a star because they do not deserve...
Read more$95 dollars a night for two beds.
Seems like a good price, for such a good looking hotel...
Or so we thought.
We arrive to a beautiful place. Wonderfully nice people. That's the only good thing there is to say about this place.
We check in to a pretty room. Everything seems to be going fine, until we try to connect to their wifi. It doesn't work. At all. We mention it, and all the receptionist says is "I'll notify my boss tomorrow". Fair enough.
We unload the car and come back to the room, and notice that there is no fridge in the room, or microwave. Only one microwave, and that's in the lobby. Fine, although for the price I'd expect it.
I go to ask where the gym and pool is, to hear "we don't have either". Wow. For the price, again, id expect at least that. I stayed at a Best Western for $70 that had both of those. Oh well. Now, I just want to sleep.
I go back to the room to find a roach on the bed. Unacceptable. Any decently cleaned room should never have roaches. I go to notify the receptionist of this, but their phone in the room does not work. So I walk down to the desk and tell her of the situation. All she says is "I'll let maintenance know so they can spray something tomorrow".
So now, I'm paying $95 for a poorly cleaned place with no wifi, no fitness room, no pool, no fridge, no working phone, and no microwave in the room.
I've stayed in Airbnb's for half the price with twice the comforts, that were CLEAN.
The only reason this place gets a star is for the friendly (but unhelpful) people and the good location (and because you can't give less...
