Firstly, I love me some good authentic Indian food. Have been privileged to experience some of the best in WA state and several temples.
Was very excited to see goat curry on the menu, yet both times ive gotten it- there were more bones than meat. 👎 😥☹️ There also was a very thick layer of oil sitting on top, as the curry hadn't been skimmed. Not worth the $18!!!
The butter chicken is 'americanized' for those traveling okies and Texans. Lacking in flavor & complexity.
If youre looking for more authentic Indian food, Id say stop in at Sunset Restaurant, Trinidad, CO.
The only thing I would recommend here,,, is their garlic naan bread.
My first visit, was when I was staying in the adjacent motel in which I was supposed to receive a discount,,, that didnt happen. Instead was overcharged.
This last time, hoping to give them a second chance, didnt fare any better. Attempted to pressure me into buying something else. Yet I dont like the Indian sweets they sell,,, too sweet. It's so unfortunate as I would really love to support and have access, yet it just isnt happening. My friends and I make better curry than...
Read moreHonestly shocked how amazing the food is! I wasn't expecting much from a food truck but this is a must stop if you're driving through Raton. I had the goat curry and masala tea. I'm from an area with a lot of Desi people/restaurants and this tops all the Indian places I've been before by flavor alone.
The price and portions were both amazing, service was incredibly quick, and I can't emphasize enough how delicious the food here is. All of it was served with a smile, the owner is super friendly and kind. The goat curry was incredibly well spiced! So much flavor and the meat was so tender without falling apart. The tea was perfectly sweetened with a bold and complex flavor.
I'm not normally the kind of person to leave a review but this place...
Read moreI’m a local resident and am always thrilled to see a new eatery open, especially something different than expected for Raton. I love, love Indian food, choosing it whenever available dining out and even making it at home. This place is wonderful and you know the dishes are authentic. I’ve tried the chicken, goat, and fish curries with rice, all delicious. The fish curry was spicier than the others so I liked it best. But the best so far has been the garlic chicken which came without rice. I always take it home for dinner but I sneaked a taste and decided it was time already. I sautéed spinach, onion and mushrooms to replace the rice. Best ever. And, their rice is special too. It’s not dry and is scented with cumin. Love. I...
