All around cutrate. This historic hotel used to be so amazing. Sterile white room had ill fitting bottom sheet that came off to expose mattress every night. No top sheet. 2 very flat pillows, not enough to sit up and watch TV for 1 person let alone 2. Only 1 place to sit-desk chair. No where else to sit to watch tv, as the bed was out of the question due to lack of pillows. Towel hook fell off wall. No automatic room service. You had to go down stairs to ask for them to clean your room, and to give you toilet paper. Told to put toilet paper in trash can-yuck. Pink mildew in bathroom sink, and in shower. Probably because the fan was broken. Empty alcohol bottle under bed. Smoke alarm removed. Old, stained, scratched, nightstands. Pictures show decorative pillows, accent chair, and wall hangings- none. Constant heavy perfume smell when you walk in hotel was horrible. Way over priced. Paid $110 per night plus taxes for total of $120 night. Stayed a week, no discount.|The only good things were the bed was comfortable, the front desk was friendly, and the hallways and stairs retained...
Read moreAWFUL. The owner/front desk operator Wendy appeared impaired, was rude and unprofessional. I wish I would have dug through these reviews - many note the same kind of erratic behavior. Wouldn’t let my friends who had a separate reservation leave until they paid for my room- when it was paid for by me. Threatened to kick us out of the hotel for not paying when she took payment at check in and had evidence of such right in her hand (a receipt with my signature) 20 Minutes before that!!!! When I returned to also show my proof I was charged she denied she had questioned my payment at all. She went through our room while we were down at a restaurant and was caught by our other friends staying there as well and then lied and said she hadn’t. Double charged my friend and refused us refunds when we said we no longer felt comfortable to stay in the establishment due to the unprofessionalism and lack of boundaries. DONT EVER STAY HERE!!!! What is advertised is also not what you are charged it’s almost double on the charge with no explanation and they refuse to provide...
Read moreStayed here a couple of nights ago and I was impressed.
Staff: very friendly, they make you feel right at home, they accommodate my stay even thought it was last minute. I only stayed there for one night so I got the cheapest room they had ($65). The girl at the front desk showed me the rooms available and depending on what you need, one night or multiple nights, they have bigger rooms with refrigerators for leftovers and working desks for those who are there for extended stays.
Rooms: the room I stayed in was small, but had what I needed for the night. Very comfortable beds, it was hard to get up and leave. They keep the rooms really clean and same goes for the restrooms. I was impressed, even thought this hotel was built in the early 1900's the building is really well kept. All the rooms are completely remodeled and have hd tv's. One of my favorite feature is the that they offer Netflix and I was able to watch my favorite show.
I definitely recommend Hotel Burgess if you are in the area. The hotel is under new owners and...
