Mainstreet Cafe — Restaurant in Reedley

I will begin by saying that I have been a fairly regularly patron here for quite a while. I have never been disappointed with the many different items that I have ordered off their menu. Not even once. I have my favorites over others but that just comes down to personal taste imo. The service is almost always top notch and on the rare occasion that it is a little slow it is because the place is absolutely packed with people waiting out front on the benches. The benches are there more out of necessity than as decoration as this place is often packed. I am sure that they could squeeze in a few more tables but I hope they don't because as it sits now the tables are arranged and spaced in such a way that you never feel crowded even when the restaurant is packed.

One of my favorite items on their menu is a very tasty French dip and fries. I know, it's kinda hard to mess up a French dip but trust me, I have seen a few restaurants do it. I had the grilled ham and cheese sandwich and fries today and it was awesome. Thick sliced bread absolutely packed with tasty ham and your choice of Swiss, cheddar or American cheese (I chose Swiss today). My wife had their egg salad sandwich and potato salad today, as she often does. I am not a big fan of egg salad but she swears that theirs is the best she has ever tasted.

Their breakfast selection is pretty wide and the food is always spot on. Again, I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered here.

They also have a choice of regular ketchup or siracha ketchup which gives you the choice to spice things up a little. They offer a selection of about 10 bottled beers but I have never ordered one so I can't speak about price or how cold they are served.

The food is great and the service is too. This is an unupdate on my review. Today is Nov. 27th 2021. I've been coming here for awhile now, and the food is still great and wait staff is awesome management not so good. I always order biscuits and gravy side of hashbrowns 2 eggs over easy on top of the hashbrowns smothered with cheddar cheese highly recommended. Unfortunately they have lost my business. I was sitting waiting for breakfast, when a father and daughter came in and there was no available table only a table for 5. I was sitting at a table for 4 and decided to give them my table and told them I would sit outside. Management refused my offer. In the past I've paid for other customers meals why wasn't that ever refused? I believe I have the right to give my table to whom ever I chose. The couple left and I canceled my meal and left as well. Because of a poor decision made by the person in charge, they lost 3 customers that morning. One regular and 2 potential regulars. I understand they have a waiting list, but as I was leaving a party of 5 arived and was seated right away why didn't they make them wait they have a waiting list? Or give that table to waiting customers? They said they have a seating list to follow... I guess McDonald's is my breakfast place till I can find another cafe as good as main street. I was invited to breakfast this morning. When we arrived, there were 9 people in our party. The standard table at this location seats 4 comfortably. When had two tables pushed together. Leaving room for only 6 people. I guess you can cram 9 people onto the tables. I asked for an additional table so we were offered a corner booth with the same amount of tables. I asked if we could get another table but it was envious they were not going to accommodate us with alternate solutions.. Upset, with the response, I just sat at the corner of the table and ate. I didn’t want to spoil the occasion for the rest of the party I was with. It was certainly possible to accommodate us because there was another unused table next to us with three table that were unused the entire time we were eating.
