The Homewood Suites by Hilton Reston was an ideal location for us to visit with some friends that live in the area. We spent 3 nights here.
The hotel is hidden in the back of a mostly vacant business park and isn't exactly the easiest place to find unless you are using navigation. There are no signs on the main road to indicate that the hotel is even there. There is plenty of parking, but not all of it is located near an entrance door and some of it requires parallel parking along a drive on the backside of the building.
The check-in process was easy and the staff were very friendly and attentive. This was one of the few Hilton Properties that actually acknowledged my Hilton status upon arrival. The hotel appears to be well maintained with clean common areas like the lobby, hallways, and dining room. The lobby decor is very attractive.
The breakfast was enjoyable with a varied selection of breakfast meats, scrambled eggs, a breakfast burrito bar, a variety of yogurts, a variety of breads, a variety of cereals, a variety of juices, and some fresh fruit. The food was kept stocked and there is plenty of seating, even during the busiest time of the breakfast rush.
The room was nicely decorated and like all Homewood Suites, included a full kitchen, a nice sized shower, a sitting area with a couch (that could fold out for another bed), cable TV and a King sized bed. The room was very clean on arrival. The bed was very firm, almost too firm, which is saying something since I like a firm mattress. The pillows are the same underwhelming pillows that every Homewood Suites offer. The room was exceptionally quiet.
The bathroom was very clean when we arrived. It was well-stocked with the Zero brand shampoo, conditioner, and body wash which are dispensed from wall mounted bottles. They also had Zero brand bar soap for washing your hands and a small travel-sized bottle of Zero body lotion. We appreciated all of the personal care items as they did their respective jobs well. The only issue we had was that one of the lamps over the sink was burnt out, but that was only a minor inconvenience.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We knocked off one-star because the hotel has announced that they are going to start charging $15+tax per day per room for parking on Sept. 1, 2025. This Homewood Suites is very nice with a great staff, but the parking charge ruins the value of this location, especially since this location is not with-in walking distance of anything which requires you...
Read moreNow this is a nice hotel! The rooms are modern, the hallways and ground floor are updated. Everything is clean. My review is based on a standard room. Was there for 4 days. Very spacious and nicely decorated. It felt homely and not commercialized. Tv pulls out of the wall for adjustment. Their internet is great. I didn’t like the fact I had to keep signing in every 24hrs but it is what it is. Another negative was that you need to use your key in order for the elevator to work but I’m guessing it’s for safety so…. Lastly, the parking isn’t that abundant. You will find something but may need to circle the building. Ohh and they do have EV chargers. There is 1 ChargePoint charger with 2 plugs. You do have to pay which is a negative. If it were used all day, it would cost the hotel roughly $20 dollars so I don’t see why they would charge visitors to use it considering they can utilize it as an incentive for people with EV vehicles seeking a hotel with a charger. I’m not going to deduct a star for that as it was noted prior to my arrival but would like to see the hotel offer it as a courtesy to their guests. Overall it is a hotel which I would not only recommend but would return to. Price per night was fair, service was spot on, they have a business center where you can print documents, no issues with the hot water or water pressure, surrounding area is quiet, plenty of USB ports for charging and the beds are comfortable. If the manager is reading this…. Please consider the...
