Not coming back to this place again. Unpleasant experience overall. I was super hungry after a long a day and decided to eat some tacos because I like to eat tacos every now and then. I placed a take out order over the phone. I placed a bowl steak. A guy answered the phone but he failed to inform me when the food was going to be ready and just when I was about to ask him about the estimated time he hung up on me. I thought to myself okay probably they are busy and I also understand the industry because I worked at the food places throughout my college years. As soon as I came into the restaurant a guy was at the front desk did not say hi (which I don’t really mind, I am only mentioning this to give the whole story). As soon as I came in I paid for my order because I was eager to taste the food. A guy at the front desk was kind of low-key ignoring me the whole time which was a little surprising but I did not mind. I left the place, got the food out of the bag and opened the bowl but the portion was disappointingly low. Taco places usually give good portions but not this place based on my one and only experience here. Regardless of my overall bad experience I proceeded to eat the food because I was hungry. If the food tastes good I usually let things slide but guess what “food did not taste good, it was rushed and not cooked well”. I called the restaurant to let them know the food portion was not enough. The same guy who was at the front desk answered the phone and first he said come back and we will get you another bow. I was not interesting in getting another bowl because I was not hungry anymore. The guy at the front desk was not really listening to my concerns attentively nor seriously and said “We will refund you”. I never asked for a refund but I already the food. Then I called again and wanted to express my concerns about the portion because I don’t want other people to get small portions for their hard-earned bucks. The guy on the phone refunded me. I came back to the place and a guy at the front desk brought the manager over to talk to me. I mentioned that I did not have a good experience. He said “That is okay”. I was a little dumbfounded. I think he was gonna say “I am sorry this will not happen again and we will do better next time” and his tongue slipped. There is an overall arrogance and lack of communication skills for its employees at this place. Again, not coming back here. Read moreI have been a regular costumer of Chef on wheels, me and my family loved their food. At times, we did feel that we are rushed by one of the workers while placing order in person or by phone but would ignore it in favor of the good food.
I usually place a group order on Friday from my work to eat as a team. But this past Friday I had a terrible experience. I started my order through Grubhub and called the restaurant directly to clarify if I can add notes for any modifications. I told him that I will be ordering through Grubhub. He explained that there will be an upcharge and I was fine with that. He mentioned that they also do Uber eats and it is faster, to which I said I'll check. When I went to order from uber eats, the prices were more than that of Grubhub, so I went ahead and placed the order from Grubhub. Grubhub notified me at 12:09 pm that food will be delivered in 40-50 minutes. Around 12:45 pm, I got an email that my order has been cancelled. I was shocked and immediately called Grubhub and they said that their rep just spoke to the restaurant and they are saying we can’t fulfil your order as we are too busy. The Grubhub rep was courteous & sorry and told me to talk to the restaurant as they can’t do anything. I called the restaurant and the person who picked up the phone was not the person whom I had spoken earlier but it was the one who always rushed us in placing the orders and is kind of rude. I explained him the whole situation and he simply went "sorry we are too busy and can’t do anything and you need to talk to Grubhub" and hung up the phone. Our order was not small it was for 20 plus items, plus this was not the first time I ordered on a Friday. If I was called back right away and told that the order is big and it will take more time or if they are out of supplies and can’t complete the order, it would have been acceptable but the way it was handled was totally unprofessional.

Read moreUsually this place is on point and getting there early ensures beating the rush and fast, amazing service. Today not so much. I get the same thing every time; rice, beans and ground beef. when i showed up i was the only person there. as i waited a couple more people came in but still it wasn't full or busy. My food took over 20 minutes to come out...after somebody who ordered after me. I ordered extra food for a coworker so i assumed this meant mine might take extra time which is fine. I finally got my food and when i returned to my office my order, quite possibly the easiest thing they might make all day, was incorrect. I'm sure this is a freak occurrence and i know i get grumpy when i'm hungry, but i'm very disappointed today. They were kind enough to give me my money back.
UPDATE: 10/4/2018 I went into the restaurant for the same simple burrito bowl (rice, black beans and ground beef) with no other customers in the establishment. One person came in immediately after me and another came in and ordered while i was using the restroom. BOTH of these customers received their more detailed orders before mine. This isn't the first time this has happened, even beyond the above mentioned incident from several months ago. This still confuses me as i'm sure preparing my bowl consists of merely scooping three already made items into a plastic container. The company I work for is next door and often has them cater company functions and see how the food comes and is stored so i'm just confused...I ended up returning my food. I will never come back since this seems to be an unacceptable standard to me. Best of...
