Quality Inn & Suites Robstown — Hotel in Robstown

My recent stay at the Quality Inn & Suites in Robstown, TX (July 2025), regrettably aligned with recurring concerns consistently documented by other guests over the past several months. Despite multiple reviews highlighting the same issues, little evidence suggests that management has taken steps to resolve them.

Front Desk Experience: Customer-facing staff failed to meet basic service expectations. The check-in process was inefficient, with a noticeably disengaged attitude from the front desk. Requests for assistance were either delayed or ignored, and communication lacked both clarity and courtesy. Several past reviews cited identical experiences—unresponsive front desk behavior, confusion around reservations, and minimal support when problems arise. These patterns suggest a systemic issue rather than isolated incidents.

Room and Facilities: The room itself was functional but marred by long-standing maintenance failures. The showerhead leaked persistently, leaving the bathroom damp throughout the day. The sink also showed signs of a slow leak, resulting in pooling water. Notably, several guest reviews from as far back as early 2024 reference the same plumbing problems, indicating a lack of corrective action. This raises questions about the property’s preventative maintenance program and its overall approach to guest comfort.

Overall Assessment: At its core, hospitality relies on two fundamentals: clean, functional accommodations, and responsive service. This property continues to fall short on both fronts. This hotel looks trendy and has a nice ambient. The outdoor pool is awesome. The fitness facilities are decent and the overall appearance of the hotel was nice.The host is very welcoming and acommodating. Make sure you have everything you need for the night. The hotel is 10 minutes from the shopping strip and all the stores and restuaraunts close by 10. Ross is the only thing open late. Have what you need for the stay. The hotel does have vending machines and laundry on every floor. Thats a great amenity. I would have given this hotel 5 stars if it wasnt for the bad breakfast and bed bugs in our room. We stayed in a double queen suite with a kitchen. We were looking forward to using the stove but we found out this hotel has no dishes, utensils, pots or pans for the customers to use. The front desk does not have any to lend so bring your own supplies. Do not expect an elaborate breakfast either. All that was availible were cold bean and cheese tacos, juice and cofee. Nothing else no fresh fruit eggs, pastries or sausage as stated in the hotel info. There also was no dishes in the eating area. Do not go hoping to expect a nice breakfast. The room we stayed in looked clean, pleasant and modern and smelled fresh. So we expected a clean room and did not worry about any bed bugs. The sofa bed my boys stayed in was broken so it was slanted so my sons did not have a comfortable sleep. When my wife and daughter woke up they had bed bug bites all over themselves. Come to find out the bed bugs were hiding in the curtains. That wrecked up our pleasant stay. We spoke to the manger he was apologetic but said he could not refund our money or give me my points back because we had already spent the night. I've stayed at many Choice Hotels and for various minor inconveniences wouldn't stay at some of them again. But this place was in a category all by itself.

Upon checkin I went to my 2nd floor room. The door handle wouldn't open the door by pushing it downward. I had to pull the handle upward to open. The room temperature was sweltering. I found that the heating/cooling unit couldn't be lowered below 72 degrees either with the control buttons on the unit or the thermostat on the wall. I don't do well in heat. I had to turn off the unit, but the room remained uncomfortably hot (80 degrees) all night long. I went to get some ice. There was a sign on the wall pointing to ICE & VENDING. Unfortunately, the room where they were suppose to be only had a paid washing machine and dryer. I didn't check or ask if there was an ice machine anywhere else because I was too hot and bothered. But the final straw and worst thing was when I got into the bathtub to wash off the sweat of the day, the tub faucet didn't have a diverter valve/handle to redirect the water up to the shower head. It was only a straight through faucet. This is inexcusable.

With this, I didn't have high expectations for breakfast. And my suspicions were confirmed. They only had waffles and cereal. No eggs or breakfast meats for protein. There were photos of fruit on the wall, but no actual fruit in sight.

Now to be fair, from the owners perspective, they might be thinking why replace the ice machine and repair things if the public is just going to trash them. And that might be valid.

So here's the solution. You avoid this hotel at all costs. That way the occupancy drops to the point where it needs to be shut down. That way this schlock excuse of a hotel no longer needs to be inflicted on any future,...
