We were beyond disappointed in our recent stay June 2022. We've booked this hotel once a year before the pandemic and it has changed management. We booked 2 suites as this was a family getaway. The room we had looked like feces smeared on the wall. The ac did not cool and being that it was over 100 degrees outside, it made our stay worse. The once great breakfast options dwindled down to waffles and fruit yet they claim free breakfast. The pull out beds were broken which defeats the purpose of booking a suite for family vacations. The mattresses were terrible. This was nothing like the experience we've had before it changed management. And to top it off, my credit card was charged twice! I immediately noticed the transaction showing as pending twice and spoke to the front desk person. She said they only ran it once. I called my bank to confirm and dispute the charge. They did verify that the card was processed twice and an error on the front desk's part. Don't walk, run...
Read moreI paid for 2 rooms. 1 suite and 1 standard. My standard non smoking room smelled horrible of wet concrete, or mildew, had roaches under the desk and beds. I requested a refund and should've gotten my full amount back, the manager said it would be done by 1pm, then changed the time to 4pm. Now they are changing my refund request to tomorrow. In my 2nd room there's no smell but there are roaches, I guess that's most places though. I would've given a two star had the manager not try to find reasons not to refund me one of the rooms that I paid 2 nights for yet they charged my card a third night... Almost forgot to mention that almost all of the gym equipment was broken or just plain didn't work. WiFi will not connect. The pool needs to be maintained and honestly, I wish I read the bad reviews before reserving...

To quote: "KXAN TV crew from Austin checked prices at a Best Western Plus in Robstown before the hurricane hit, a two-queen bedroom cost between $120 and $149 a night. But when they showed up on Saturday to get a room, the hotel clerk quoted them nearly $321.89 including tax, nearly triple the usual price. During an interview with the Texas Attorney General Sunday, the crew alerted him of the situation. “We had a team go out immediately and we found out there was some truth to the claim that there was price gouging going on at the hotel,” Deputy Attorney General Jim Davis told...
