My husband and I stayed one night due to a weather situation.
We booked our room online and checked in the day of our arrival. The black/Jamaican looking young man was sitting in a chair to the left of the desk in an area not easily seen unless you looked that way. No doubt, they can see when someone pulls to the front because there is a window there. It took him about 30 seconds before he came to the desk. He was not on the phone or talking to anyone because he was the only one there.
As he approached the desk, he was licking an ice-cream of some kind. He would ask questions and lick his ice-cream and continued to do so until the check-in process was complete. Not only that, he smacked his lips during this time too as if to be enjoying his ice-cream. That was more than disgraceful.
During the check-in, he asked my husband for a ? card? My husband could not understand him and asked him to repeat himself. He had to ask twice and then my husband said, are you asking for a credit card? His reply, "yes, yes, a credit card."
While our information was given, this man referred to my husband as ma'am and my husband quickly corrected him and said, "it's sir." We both found his attitude to be very bad and his lack of being able to communicate to us without licking and smacking his ice-cream was distasteful.
As you leave the check-in area and make your way down the hallway (we stayed on the first floor) the powerful scent of the cleaning products was extremely strong and very noticeable.
In our room, there was no towel holder at the sink and the toilet seat was barely attached. In order to charge my smart watch, I needed a USB port. There was one on the TV and two on a table lamp, neither three were usable. The four pillows on the king size bed were extremely small and I mean small.
Upon checking out, my husband pulled our SUV to the front and I approached the desk and the same young man was there. He was leaned back in his chair and had his phone between his hands. He never stood up and I said, "we are checking out." He never said one word to me or made eye contact but continued to look at his phone. He finally muttered something and glanced my way and smiled and I'm not sure, but I believe he said, lay or put your cards down. He never gave us a printout but he did say what sounded like, come again.
This hotel needs to train their desk clerks on being more considerate, attentive and they certainly need to be taught manners.
And, this is in the line of...
Read moreWe’ve stayed four times now. First time was excellent 10/10 , second time was Good 8/10 had to fix the can light above our bed that was hanging down ourselves however 1st floor beds were super comfortable and rooms overall were very clean, third time was decent 5/10 2nd floor beds were very hard and uncomfortable, room was hot for a while even with the air turned on pretty low and a consistent fan , we also had to request clean sheets for the beds this time because they were nasty… fourth time 1/10 beds were so uncomfortable, miserable to sleep on actually and we were on the 3rd floor , however the biggest issue for this stay was the fact that the 3rd floor reeked of marijuana and inscents , the marijuana smell was so strong and awful we had to place a blanket at the bottom of our door because the smoke was coming into our room. We called the front desk and was told he couldn’t do anything other than put air freshener in our A/C unit even though he pointed to the two rooms beside us and stated he knew it was coming from them two. We asked to be put in another room and he said they had none available. Now mind you we’ve stayed here several times and they have never been fully booked with no rooms available. This was also not around the time of any holidays or events. So we pushed through that night as we were only there because we had a funeral to attend the next day. We will stay again however if it’s not on the first floor we will not. Also to note , this is a...
Read moreHotel was clean and bed was comfortable. Wifi was fast. Water pressure was low, rooms slightly out dated. We could hear everyone in the hall and we could hear the TV in the room next door. When we checked in, the front desk worker was not very friendly. She advised us that breakfast would be til 10 am. At 9:15 the next morning, we arrived for breakfast, to find out it ended at 9 am. The worker at the breakfast area did pull out some food for us and was very kind! She went above and beyond! We returned to our 2 rooms to gather our belongings after breakfast. However, our 2 rooms were inaccessible. I visited the front desk--same unwelcoming woman from before--she stated she though we left and cleared our keys. We never spoke to her that morning, never visited the front desk, and it was only 9:30--do not understand how she came to the idea we left!!! We had the do not disturb signs on our doors while we ate so our stuff would not be disturbed! I booked a handicap accessible room--I must use a walker/rollator. My room had handrails in the tub, but no shower chair was provided. This does NOT meet ADA guidelines for a handicap accessible tub in a hotel! If I was in a wheelchair, a shower would be impossible at this hotel! For the price and the aggravation, and most importantly...risking my safety in a tub because of my disability... this hotel is...
