The server decided to go outside for quite some time to smoke a cigarette, meanwhile my step dad was sitting there with an empty coffee cup. Finally had part of our order brought to us but no silverware. I actually had to get to and go ask because if we had waited on someone to check up on us we would've been waiting for a while. The grits were cold and had WAY too much butter. Our toast was burnt and cold and the waitress didn't tell us that cinnamon toast cost extra. My mom used a coupon to order the waffle and asked if she could substitute hashbrowns for the meat because she rarely eats pork. The waitress said no but don't worry, she'll "make sure" my mom gets some hashbrowns implying she was going to hook us up but then charged us anyways taking away our right to decide for ourselves if we wanted to pay extra. She could've just told us how much they cost in the first place. Now comes the tip, i used to be a server and I'm normally a fairly high tipper, tipping AT LEAST 20% but usually more, even if the service is substandard. People have bad days, I get it. Even if the food is bad, not the server's fault, I get it! I really do! BUT the service was a whole new level of low. 10 minutes to smoke a cigarette?!?! I was a smoker for 20 years and was a smoker when I was a server, you smoke QUICK and get back to your table! She did not do this. So, after the huge letdown for our meal and my mom and step dad being soooo dissatisfied I felt compelled to only leave a $4 tip. Which was more than what I personally would've left. My mom is the one who upped it to 4. After paying the server loudly and rudely comments "hustlers! That's what they are! Hustlers!" She definitely is NOT cut out for the service industry. A shame too, because I like huddle house, the owner is real nice too. But after this bad experience and her rude comments we don't even feel like we can go back there. What if she's working again and does something to our food?!?! My mom is real memorable because...
Read moreI came here about a year ago. I found hair in my food then. I decided I wouldn't be back. They replaced my food, but didn't offer any other compensation. Here I am in May of 2024, back in the place. It's been nearly 45 minutes and haven't received my food yet. I got eggs, a waffle, and turkey sausage. My wife ordered French toast, and we got scrambled eggs for the kid. I could've gotten this stuff done at home in 15 minutes or less. And they have an entire team of people making food here. It's been about 45 minutes since we ordered. The waiter brought us full refilled drinks, but that's it. I can't say I'll be back ever again. I gave this place another shot, and it missed the mark again. The floors in the lobby/dining area are filthy as well. I'll gladly got to the Awful Waffle down the street before I come to Hair House ever again. UPDATE: When I went to the counter to pay, the lady asked me if everything was good. I told her it was alright. She replied with "Just alright?". I explained to her that I was dissatisfied with how long I waited and I got cold food. Her response to this was that there were "several orders before mine." Ok, then why did I get cold food? Clearly it sat long enough to get cold. She even had the audacity to tell me to "make sure" to tip when I used the card reader. This was said to me as she turned her back. Also, the guy cooking looked like a tweaker they hired off the street. EDIT: I will not be giving this location any other chances, nor any Huddle House ever again. I read the reply the company left on my review. If they actually cared about the place, they would've made changes a long time ago. There are other reviews about similar experiences that are both old and new. Some are very old. All I see are lies in Huddle House's responses. If I could get a refund of my nearly $40 meal, I would. I feel shame that I even took my wife and child there. Everyone I've told about my experience asked why I even went there. What a joke Huddle...
Read moreIf I could give a negative ⭐ I would. I have never in my life had a worse experience at a restaurant. I can understand that there was only 1 cook and 1 server but after 2 hours of waiting for food and only getting a third of it. I sat and watched my entire family receive their meals in 20 minute increments half of which was cold and had to be reheated. After 2 hours I still had not received my own food. The only other family that was there arrived 30 minutes after we did. After waiting the two hours we just asked for boxes. Upon departure the cook asked us what was all missing and we informed him and let the server know just to take it off the check, Once that was stated the server had informed us that these items were not available that they were out of them. Which would have been more useful to know ahead of time so we could possibly substitute these items out or order something different entirely. Once our server swiped our credit card she proceeded to tell us that the card was declined even though we received a notification that the card went through and the balance was paid she took the receipt that the machine printed out and threw it away and attempted to swipe the card again stating that there was an error in her system. At that time the next shift person had come in and did a reprint on the receipt and seen that it did go through. To make this experience much worse we had brought a friend with us to celebrate her birthday. I will never in my life return to this...
