I checked into a room that had a deadbolt that did not engage in the door frame. Maintenance guy came to fix it. He brought a hammer. Yes, a hammer. Ridiculous.
So the manager then moved me to another room. Deadbolt did not engage in the door frame. Again.
The guy took the strike plate out of the door frame, leaving a gaping hole in the frame so the engaged deadbolt allowed the door to chatter in and out about an inch when door was âclosedâ. Manager moved me to a third room.
Yay. So nice to know I was safe in a part of the city that the front desk clerk was kind enough to warn me was crawling with iffy locals.
Feeling cozy and safe at last I nuked my Kroger dinner and put it on the night table next to the bed to get some water. When I came back some adorable baby roaches were enjoying it. I threw it out, fixed my dog some dinner and crashed.
The next morning I found the young cockroach family had taken up residence in the empty dog bowl. They got in but could not get out and were running laps around the bottom of the bowl. I cheered for the smallest one, a girl, and made a brief video of the contest. Then I dispatched the roaches down the toilet and cleaned out the bowl using the Red Roof branded travel shampoo/floor cleaner.
The room was priced higher than any comparable room in the area. The âsmoke free roomâ smelled like the thousands of soggy cigarette butts that are sprinkled through the property.
Most of the long term guests are full-on nicotine addicts and their idea of âsmoke-freeâ would be similar to a open bar at a company cocktail party but with cigarettes being the unlimited party favor. Itâs a very special thing.
Save your money. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else.
This location is a Patel Property and is maintained as per the traditions of the best accommodations in Mumbai.
Red Roof should revoke the franchise from the Patel Organization because of the damage to the brand it inflicts.
Itâs just hard for me to believe the company is not aware of the abysmal standard that this and other Patel Properties aspire to.
Red Roof properties provide a much needed place to stay for traveling pet owners, but the total lack of quality enforcement that is evident in many of the locations tells me that the organization does not value its own brand at all. Itâs about the Benjaminâs. Nothing...
Read moreI reserved a pet friendly non smoking room over the phone . When I arrived, after driving 9 hours, the hotel had given me a room that was not pet friendly even though I confirmed ahead of time. As i was unpacking my car, I was informed that the room was not pet friendly so we were moved to another room. The room we were moved to was a smoking room although I requested non smoking. Upon entry of the room I was overtaken by the cigarette smell and informed the front that i could not stay in the room because of it. Front informed me that the pet friendly rooms were full and if I could just manage the night in the room they would be able to switch me to a non smoking room in the morning. I informed them I do not smoke and could not stay there. I was then given the option to get a full refund and go somewhere else if I wanted, mind you this is 1 in the morning. I told them I was confirmed days ahead of time for a room. After reception spoke to a manager we were put in a non smoking and non pet friendly room. The room was upstairs, the walls were filthy, the door to the bathroom got stuck when opening and closing it, it looked as though the front door had been kicked in on the bottom, and not to mention the roaches that greeted you . I was also informed that I would incur fees if my dog were to ruin anything in the room, however, the room looked as though it had been damaged before my stay. The room is outdated and needs remodeling. I was so very disappointed in my stay and will never...
Read moreI went with a friend there this past weekend. We had to stay in two different rooms because of them being booked solid the first night. So the first night we were in a presidential suite as that was all that was available. Our deadbolt did not lock which we didn't realize until too late. One of our pillow cases had a burned out hole in it from a cigarette. Mind you this was supposed to be smoke free. We were also only given one room key even though two people were staying in the room. The second room had a stale smoke smell that hit you as soon as you walked in, again... supposed to be smoke free. The ice bucket had duct tape on it. The fridge made an awful rattling noise each time it stopped running so we ended up unplugging it. The toilet was clogged which again we didn't realize until later because we were only coming in late to sleep and get up early for our activities. The floors in this room had footprints on them where someone had walked barefoot and neither of us took our shoes off so the floors had clearly not been cleaned well or at all. There were also wires that were hanging out from under the A/C unit that looked like a hazard waiting to happen. Lastly, there were not enough bath linens for two people. Had we been able to get our money back we would have gone somewhere else for the second night. We will not...
