My wife is a travel nurse and we stayed here for 8 weeks while she worked in Merrillville. We stayed in spot #127 up the back of the park. It was beautifully shaded, spacious and was very quiet. The lot is right in front of a water treatment plant which is the only down side. It smelled a little funky only a handful of times but not enough to cause any bother. The park had a great atmosphere and we found it very friendly. The park is about 90% lot owners and 10% rentals. We made friends with many of the lot owners. They were always willing to give a helping hand and share some beer haha. The bathrooms were always clean when we visited them I’d rate them 7/10. Overall a decent place.

Stayed for a night it was nice and quiet. The site was def a challenge to set up with the travel trailer. No reason not to stay another time tho. Full hookups priced right

Wanna have a little fun, and have a camper? TONS of things to do and the Lake is clean. Too bad more people don't camp like they used to.

This campground is huge. It covers a lot of land and there is a lot to do. Boating and fishing and swimming and camping, just to name a few.

The campground is located right off the expressway, so it's very easy to get to.

I get the feeling this campground caters more to long term/ seasonal campers who set up their campers and stay all season. Tent sites are hard to come by and are pretty scattered. Since we were camping with another couple there was apparently on one site that could accommodate us.

We arrived on a Thursday and the campground was pretty quiet and sparsely populated. Friday, as expected, the crowd thickened.

Apparently this particular Saturday was something like "Half Off Day Pass Admission" day, because the beach was swamped with people -- NONE of them following any COVID guidelines or wearing a mask.

Not. A. Single. One.

They did a cool thing and put a water down the hill from the hill by the beach to the water. That was nifty, but dozens of people ( kids mostly ) in line to ride it looked like fun but, again, no social distancing or masks. Same thing goes for the 2,807 golf carts so crammed in by the beach that one very nearly ran over one of our dogs with no regard.

The restrooms/showers we cleaned a couple times a day and are pretty conveniently placed throughout the park. There are a few playgrounds around and the pool is pretty decently sized for a campground.

Gonna have to ding this campground on a couple things.

First: Speed limits. Throughout the park there a speed limit signs. Those signs say "Speed Limit 5". I have absolutely no issue with a 5 mph speed limit in a place like this. You've got kids, dogs, people walking and riding bikes and scooters all day long. My issue is that the speed limit is not enforced...at all....anywhere. Cars zoom buy our campsite at 20-30 miles an hour routinely.

I would like to add that the speed limit apparently doesn't not apply to golf carts. They are clearly the biggest offender when it comes to the speed limit.

Second: Quiet Hours. From their website: Quiet Hours Sunday - Thursday 10 pm to 8 am Friday & Saturday Midnight to 8 am

Quiet hours are not enforced. This particular weekend (we were there for three nights), golf carts with radios playing loudly could be heard as late as 2:30 a.m. They should just be called "not so quiet hours".

I will give the campground high marks on the camp store (the only place where COVID guidelines were enforced), and the quality of the firewood. Sometimes campground firewood can be pretty hit-or-miss, but the firewood here was plentiful for the price and was good quality, making keeping your fire alive...

I've been coming here for 30 years. My mother and grand mother bright me here and I've been bringing my children for 16 years. I'm a single mother of 5 so it's hard to go on vacation. I decided to rent a site for 2 days during the week so we could avoid to many people. I reserved a site that we always use due to the fact that my aunt can't breath and she has easy access to the bathroom. When I got here they had reserved the wrong site. I didn't make a big deal about it just went with it. Went to my site and realized the pools close at 6 on the week night. That was never before. None of the amenities were open at all!!! So I had to rent it another night because my kids were so sad they got to do nothing but swim!!! Had I known that I wouldn't have came on a week night!! I ended up getting charged my third night for a second tent I didn't even have!! We complained about poop being all over the boys toilet around 3 Friday and Saturday at 10 it was still there. So my children had to go all the way up front to go to the bathroom! Then my sister finally went up to complain to management because the cleaning crew had already been there that morning and decided not to clean the poop off the toilet and leave it! And as she was walking away I watched them start laughing at her!! Very poor job management. A happy costumer means people come back!! And poor service detours people from coming back!! I've been coming here for 30 years passing this tradition to my children! My niece got a bloody nose Thursday and got blood on the floor that is still there this Saturday morning!!! You can see the cleaning crew did not really sweep and did a half ass job mopping. I spent about 300 on this trip and I won't be coming back! All because of the manager that was there the morning of 7/2/2016 about 11:00 am!!! You ma'am are the reason businesses close!! I'm horrified on how dirty...

Terrible campground. Lot owners constantly push out renters if they don't like them or fit the look. Employees yelled at my 3-year-old like he was an adult because he went down the water slide the wrong way ( he doesn't know any better and is trying to enjoy his weekend) you can have your dogs locked on your fenced porch that is to small and easily can get over but not an easily accessible cage to go from inside to out to use the restroom for easy clean up. Larger dogs are constantly barking and almost jumping over porches to try to attack my puppies and smaller children. Not allowed to have any type of water toys or small blow up pools in your lot ( even if your watching) due to drowning concern of kids wondering around even though there is a giant lake right in the center of the campground with no life guard on duty. Ranger is always screaming at someone like he is the police and threating to write tickets out. Water is always shut off for hours with no eta on when it will be back on, electric is always going out as well for long periods of time with no eta on that. Teenagers got caught having sex in the public pool and it got shut down. Cops are always here for something. No activities for children, the park has little to almost nothing there! Not a campground for a peaceful get away. I've been renting for about 4 months now and nothing has changed or been accommodated for wasted food to no power or any type of reassurance. An employee felt comfortable enough to let us know she robbed a bank prior to being hired and we have been letting her handle our payments prior to us knowing that. The maintance employees are very lazy all they do is ride around in the truck all day riving past every ones trash sitting at the end of the drive to be taken. We will be moving to the campground across the street from the location. I would never recommend this...
