I booked the holiday inn express for my wedding and everything was absolutely horrible from start to finish ! I spoke with Linda who handled everything for the wedding block and my guests rooms and my shuttle for the last 8months and for the last week before the wedding it was nothing but screw ups! I had spoken to her about my now husband having a room for the night before as we discussed he wouldn’t be staying with me and she assured me he had a room and that day they told him they didn’t have him down for a reservation so that had to be handled. Then I had checked with her about 3 or 4 times about when we would have to pay for everything and she ASSURED me again that it wouldn’t be until checkout and when I got there they wouldn’t let me check in until I paid so my father had to cover the bill. Then my mother in law had 2 separate rooms for Saturday and Sunday and I spoke to Linda about having her in the same room so that she wouldn’t have to check in and out Sunday and she again told me she handled it and when we got there that was not the case. Then my sister had called to pay for their rooms over the phone and they told them they applied the credit card to both rooms but when my father got there they said his room wasn’t paid for. Then the shuttle was 30min late to picking us up to take me to the church !!! and then also got lost on the way the venue even tho I had gone over the addresses with Linda multiple times. I also had asked for turn down service for my husband and I’s Room for when we came back and nothing was done beside our bed was made. And on top of everything going wrong the staff was absolutely so rude, seeing my frustration and I’m sure I was acting a little crazy but it was my wedding ! And instead of trying to help to figure it out I was being spoken to rudely back I was told it was my fault that there was nothing to be done and with attitude! All in all it was honestly the worst experience of my life and on my WEDDING day no less. My husband and I will NEVER be staying at that hotel again and will be telling everyone about our experience. We have already told our venue to take them off of the suggestions list. We are Very very...
Read moreThis is one of the better Holiday Inn Express locations I've stayed at - it's a hidden gem! I had to attend a training/class for several days which took place in another hotel, but this nearby Holiday Inn's rates were much more reasonable and included breakfast too! A Cracker Barrel restaurant/store was only footsteps away next to this hotel, and there are several other restaurants in the area if you Google map it, in case you want other options. The front desk staff at this Holiday Inn were very pleasant & friendly. My room was very clean, modern, spacious, comfortable and quiet. Not only do they provide a decent spread for breakfast, but they also offered a complimentary (free) evening buffet Mon thru Thurs at 630pm as well! I don't think all Holiday Inn's offer this, but I think it's a great feature. It's not an extensive buffet, but each night has a different food theme (i.e. Chinese, Italian, etc) that has several trays of that theme. The food seemed to be professionally catered ( probably from local restaurants?) and the quality/taste far exceeded my expectations when it was supposed to be only "complimentary assorted light foods & beverage". For me, it was enough food to make a dinner meal and I did not have to drive anywhere and spend more money. Just keep in mind that the complimentary evening reception is first come first served so get there when it starts if you can. I doubt I'll be back in that area anytime soon (too bad), but if you're considering this hotel it's definitely a good value and I highly recommend...
Read moreIn general, this hotel was excellent. It was clean, neat, and had a very welcoming feel even though the person who did the actual check in never really looked at me or smiled at all. It seemed that she was just doing a job - boring, perhaps, or unimportant. The room was lovely - also very clean and neat, including the bathroom. However, we needed to use the sleeper sofa and there were no pillows for it in the closet. Also, the sheets and comforter for that bed, which were in a zipped plastic bag in the closet, did not fit the sofa bed and had an unpleasant odor when we first unzipped the bag. The breakfast was very good, but there was not enough of the hot foods. We went down a half hour before breakfast ended and two of the four selections had already run out. There was very little left of the other two hot selections and we finished them. There were at least six people who came down after we did and found no hot food. Although the person who was overseeing the breakfast area came out and saw that the hot food selections were gone, she did nothing about it. All of that being said, however, the hotel itself is lovely and in an excellent location with a number of restaurants within walking distance. We would definitely...
