I was very disappointed with my overall experience not only with camp Pollock but with the individual staffing the location. READ THE WEBSITE IN ITS ENTIRETY!!!
When I showed up to preview the location, the site was dirty and unkept.
Communication with staff is only done through text message and email. It's almost impossible to get anybody on the phone.
The advertisement price for renting locations is misleading. The requirements for you to rent this location not only insurance, you must hire your own security, you're responsible for cleaning the entire facility even though you receive it not as clean as they want it to be, they charge you an additional $200 if you wish for them to haul your trash out, the list goes on...
After everything's all said and done, you're easily spending between $3,000 and $4,000 for this location.
And that's not including the fact that they don't have a kitchen. And if you're selling anything there such as food for your event, that's an additional insurance and licensing that they require.
If you are looking for a cheap option to host an event, look somewhere else. If you're looking for a location that has quality customer service with reliable communication, look somewhere else, if you're looking for a location that includes any amenities such as a refrigerator, stove, trash cans or security look somewhere else....
This location is open to the public and you don't need reservations to show up and take pictures...
Read moreIt is a beautiful place to hold a wedding! It's very spacious and accommodating! There are a lot of pretty places to take pictures! It is also one of the more affordable places to host a wedding. I was between Camp Pollock and a Winery that was very affordable, but wouldn't let us bring our own alcohol. The manager, Amy, was very responsive and helpful when I asked questions.
It's between 2,500-4,500 for 12 hours, depending on what you want and how much room you need (courtyard / lodge). Which hourly, is pretty high.
However, the outside was very dirty and unkept when we arrived. Trash on the ground, the garbage bins were full, multiple homeless walking through, a dog walked into the lodge during the wedding and there was bird poop on the benches/tables. We spent a lot of time blowing leaves and scrubbing bird poop before wedding setup. Also, the string lights on the outside are an extra cost of $175 to plug in, which is just ridiculous; Im sure the homeless are plugging them in every night. 10 tables were supposed to be provided and there were only 8 tables. We had to go buy two more tables from costco, the day of our wedding. The girls bathroom toilet also clogged up during the wedding. The outlets in the girls bathroom didn't work, so none of us could touch up our curls.
It would have 5 stars if the outside was more maintained and we didn't have missing tables, random dogs walking into the lodge and multiple homeless roaming...
Read moreWe got married at Camp Pollock a week ago. While planning a wedding is a massive undertaking it's nothing compared to the ongoing efforts of the staff here-- Amy, Kelly & Tim are a tireless team that we cold not have pulled off our wedding without. We loved having our wedding in Sacramento at a space that is dedicated to conservancy.
Located on the American River, the rustic lodge, wrap around deck, charming courtyard with a stage that hosts intimate concerts in the summer and the expansive green space all around made this the perfect natural setting to gather our loved ones.
A special thanks to Amy who was our point person at Camp Pollock. She is professional, personable and a joy to communicate with. We had heaps of questions and she made sure we were set up for success the weekend of our wedding. Kelly & Tim were incredibly supportive as well.
We are certainly looking forward to enjoying time at this local gem for years to come thanks to the efforts of the Sacramento Valley...
