23 day road trip, 6786 miles, 20 different motels ...... this was our FAVORITE! We spent two nights here after crossing back into the states from coming around the north end of Lake Superior. We came to St. Ignace to visit Mackinac Island, and was the norm for this trip, cruised the main drag, then pulled into a parking lot to check the reviews. The Moosewood (and its owners) did not disappoint! I spoke with the owner of the Moosewood. You knew that you were in northern Michigan ..... IYKYK. So sweet and accommodating. They shared a lot of local information with us so that we knew where to have a good bite to eat and didn't feel too 'left out' when parking for the ferry ride to Mackinac Island.||We pulled up in front of our room and went in. It was beautiful. Each room is done up a little differently. This was ours. It was amazingly clean and comfortable. The beds were comfy and we had a couple of great nights of sleep. ||If you're staying in St. Ignace, make sure that you stay here at...

This was a truly fantastic experience. An old-school roadside motel turned into something extraordinary! Rooms are completely refurbished, top to bottom, with lovely high-end decor on a fun cabin theme including forest photo murals. It's not just the decor that got an overhaul: Excellent heating, great double-glazed windows, blinds and curtains for total privacy, comfortable floors, upscale little fridge/freezer, lovely bathroom fittings and products, new everything, no corners cut. Standard queen bed rooms are snug, and the owners do (and should) enforce the two-person max and no pets rules. Note that the motel sign is homemade, and there's no indication from the outside that this is fabulous on the inside. But it is. We enjoyed our stay here so much, and the owners' kindness and consideration was so appreciated. There's a reason this modest little place is so well rated: it's an outdoorsy palace. So friendly, too. ❤️‍🩹 Well done, and we...

Came into a new town to visit and complete part of an adventure with two other friends of ours. Was supposed to be on the motorcycle, but that went south 40 miles from home. Had to get bike home fast and continue on 4 wheels. Met our friends that booked the two rooms we had, and the best part of that day, was a fantastic little cabin like room to lay our heads. Comfy bed, adorable theme, very clean and quiet. Very great woodwook being done. Even though our room was small, I'd take it again in a heartbeat. The owners certainly are throwing their best out there to begin this journey as business owners. We are booking again here to fulfill this interrupted bike journey. And next year when we do, we'll be tired and will want the same service we got on our night stay at, The...

This is an amazing place to stay! Kelly greeted us and got us all checked in when we got here. The room is amazing. We were very impressed with the room for the price we paid. The room is gorgeous. They did an amazing job on their remodel. Every single detail was done beautifully. I can't say enough good things about this place. We were very impressed! Everything was perfect and pristine. I wish we had more time here to stay another night. This will be on my list of favorites if we ever make it back up this way. Thank you, Kelly, for an amazing experience on our first trip to St. Ignace.

A not so hidden gem (right on the highway) for an overnight stop or a week's respite! Very comfortable and my room was just the right size for one or two people (if you sleep in the same bed). Nicole decorated the rooms herself and her hubby, Brian, renovated them. They make a good team! I could not have been happier even if I stayed in one of the national chain suites in town. And Moosewood Inn was significantly less expensive. Check out the pictures to see the tasteful and functional thoughtful touches with which Nicole decorated.

Unassuming outside however the interior is incredibly comfortable and well appointed. The furniture and countertops are all high quality. The bathroom and shower are extremely nice and the showerhead and water pressure were some of the best we've ever experienced. The addition of the massaging recliner in the room was a very welcomed addition. It's location on the north end of the strip means you'll have to drive in for any food/shopping, but frankly it's a small ask given the luxuriousness of this motel!
