A reviewer called the Pizza bland, I thought it was a good bland. It had a taste of simple ingredients and little fat and which I thought was as good a value for a slice as you could get anywhere in North America. I had been craving a Jelly donut and got one with my pizza. I also bought a large doughy cinnamon roll. Had a good taste to it. Didn't get any smoked fish, but I could see it was a good place to get it. The first time I went there I just cruised through the small and full parking area and was not impressed. Can't tell a book by it's cover. I'm sure I'll find many items I like in future days.

Always considered this place to be a decent place to stop at, even though their prices are extremely high! However, on a recent visit to this place, I did something out of the ordinary and used their bathroom, which, in hindsight, I'm glad that I did, yet appalled at what I saw in there! It was apparent by what I saw (meat scraps & meat fat) that they use an area in this bathroom to wash/rinse off raw meat before doing whatever they do with it. Now, this might not sound so bad at first, possibly even sound good, since they are actually doing some sort of cleaning of the meat, however, keep in mind, they're doing this with a food product, and doing it inside a bathroom where people actually poop! I'm shocked that the Food & Drug / Health Department hasn't shut them down for this type of activity! Needless to say, knowing this gives me a complete different outlook on any of their meat products that they would be handling in the raw form! Plus, this being the case with meat handling, in my opinion, would also make me suspect of their cleanliness of anything else they prepare, such...

This place has EXCELLENT to outstanding cuts of meat, the best of which I have seen in Saint Igance. The wife and I are used to going to the local grocery store, without much fanfare, and have been driving by Pine's Trading Post for the past couple of months and wondered what was inside. Boy were we surprised. Want to talk about sweet looking cuts of meat? This is BY FAR the best meat counter in Saint Ignace. Hands down. I was blown away by the clarity of the colour of the meat they offered, and the young gentleman behind the counter was wise beyond his years, poised, and full of couth and a very welcoming attitude. Did I mention the beautiful colour of the cuts? I was blown away to see cuts that didn't offer the standard fat you'd find at the grocery store, and thickness of cut that indicates, "We know what we're doing" and then some. Truly a joy. So they make these jalapeno-cheddar beef sticks that are out of this world. Not kidding. Treat yourself. ...

I can’t say enough good things about Tom and the incredible service he provides at the Local Trading Post. From the moment you walk through the door, Tom greets you with a genuine smile and a willingness to go above and beyond to make sure you leave satisfied.

Whether you’re looking for something specific or just browsing, Tom takes the time to listen, offer helpful suggestions, and make sure you’re getting exactly what you need. His knowledge of the store’s products is impressive, but it’s his kindness and can-do attitude that truly set him apart.
