You can't beat the location being less than 10 minutes from Salisbury Beach, and it is a nice wooded campground compared to other RV sites near the beach that are essentially in fields. What I didn't like was the management. When we arrived the first night the woman working in the office couldn't have been any less enthused about her job, let alone the arriving campers (customers). I thought maybe it was a fluke but we got the same treatment when it was time to check out. No concern with how our stay was, etc. Three adults all agreed that she was a bit "pissy", I guess you'd say. Other than that, campsites, bathrooms and amenities were pretty clean so I still felt it was worth 3.5-4 stats overall.

We stayed at this campground for a week. Our site was on the main road in and out of the park, so the traffic going by our rig was non stop. The hook ups are good, but only four sites in the park have sewer hook up. Our site was crushed stone and sloped to the right a bit (looking at the picture). The laundry and restrooms were a bit outdated, but functional. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall we did not get a good "vibe" here, but it is close to the State Beach.

The campground is clean and has a very friendly staff. I need to make a well-intentioned comment. It's unfortunate that I have to say this, but we had campers next to us who were drinking tequila. Absolutely obnoxious people. They ruined our camping experience. I was the one who had to engage these belligerent people at 1am. The campground ended up kicking these disgraceful people out. It's unfortunate. Beware of camping outside of a state park. These things happen.

f you are looking for 5 Star Luxury camping... Please do the community a favor and do not spend your vacation at The Pines Camping Area in Salisbury MA. If however, you are looking for a safe, clean, well maintained campground run by a very accommodating family then welcome to The Pines Camping Area in Salisbury. A little about me, I have slept anywhere from the forest floor to 350.00 a night rooms. My husband and I camp in a tent and are far from "Glam'-pers". I was a little hesitant about staying here when I went to make the reservation and no one was available to answer the phone. I sent an e-mail asking if a tent site was available for that night 5-27-2015 thru 5-31-2015. I then proceeded to look up other local campgrounds as we had a situation at our home where we needed to vacate for a few days with little notice. Before I could locate the number of another establishment via goggle, (were talking fast), I received an e-mail from Cheryl informing us there was indeed availability. Just to come down after 2:00 and check in. Check in was super simple. Really nice people. We actually after checking out decided to revisit from June 4th till June 11th. We arrived at the site 115A and to my excitement there was a platform for the tent. The site is well wooded with a nice rock wall bordering the area. Plenty of privacy though the one direct neighbor we had seemed very quiet anyhow. I have never had the luxury of a platform before so when I went to the office to ask exactly how one stakes down a tent to a platform I was feeling sort of silly. Cheryl however, was very helpful in helping me to solve this and even gave me a few cable ties to try. That would have worked awesome but we had the plywood platform, most others were boarded. I was able to get rope and tie it down super secure despite some nasty winds. The platform kept the condensation problem I tend to experience with my 17 year old tent in check, it also proved very helpful when the rains did come. All bathrooms were very well maintained and VERY clean. Some of the ones were a little out of date decor wise but beside a little fresh pollen dust these are spotless. We went to see if by chance the store had a cooler which they did not but again Cheryl accommodated us by giving us a mailing cooler which she had received and no longer needed. The owners and staff can easily be found upon the grounds and are always checking on things. The great thing is that no one is permitted to drive around in golf carts except staff. This means 1. it's quieter, 2. no dodging child drivers, 3. if you need to find staff when they are out and about, you can identify them quickly. The seasonal campers are friendly enough and for the most part the other campers were friendly and quiet. The weekends are louder I had no issues with any problem campers though if I did I would have felt comfortable bringing it to the attention of staff. The location is along the Marsh in Massachusetts... Bugs galore but amazing wildlife as well. I can't lie my husband and I enjoy reading places that have iffy reviews and finding out for ourselves what the place is like. So far we have discovered some of our favorite spots by going to places with horrific reviews as long as you read between the lines, you can usually tell a bad reviewer from a bad place. The Pines area campground is just another one o add to the list of places I am glad we were not deterred by previous reviews. I can see how a few of the sites could be considered small but they are few and far between. The complaints I have read about the seasonal camp sites are confusing. I have always seen seasonal camp sites with porches and build ons. This is not unusual at least not for this region. As far as privacy is concerned, most of the sites have beyond enough space between you and your neighbors. Unless your camping in the wilderness you are bound to have people around you and that is a part of camping. The bundles of wood are standard camp fare at standard prices. Seriously the owners went above and beyond to be...

Nice little campground near the beach. It's a great place to stay if you want to spend most of your day at the beach. The restrooms were average and the pool was well maintained. Seasonal campers tend to leave for work between 6 and 9 am and return between 3 and 5 PM. A lot of people were driving pretty fast and no attempts have been made to slow people down. Mosquitoes! It's camping, and the marsh is clearly marked on their map. I assumed Mosquitoes were going to be an issue. It's part of camping right. The Mosquitos are so bad that you cannot walk to the bath house, pool, or even stand on your sight in the middle of the day. You can be in 90° heat with direct sunlight at high noon and the mosquitoes are attacking you 5 or 6 at a time. We ended up secluded to our screen room or camper when we weren't at the beach. Again I understand that they can't spray the marsh. But no attempts were made to clean standing leaves in public areas and it certainly didn't feel like they made any attempts to control the mosquitoes. We typically have camp fires each night and play plenty of outdoor yard games during our vacation to fill the time between our day trips. This was not possible during our stay due to the mosquitoes. I write this review sitting on the picnic bench in my screen room on the last day of July 2020. We have had one passing shower this week which didn't last an hour so I can't imagine what they would be like if it had rained more. I would only recommend this place if are going to the beach and don't care about doing actual camping activities. As a small business owner myself I don't give a bad review unless I have really put a lot of consideration into it. I am now posting this in October because I truly still feel the same after...

We arrived at the Pines Camping area mid day and I wasn't sure what to make of this place. The office area seemed okay. My husband checked us in and said the staff was friendly however, once we went through the gate i didn't know where to look first. This place was unlike any campground I have ever stayed at and I wish I meant that in a good way. There were seasonal trailers with broken down fences and all kinds of extensions built on to them. I hate to say this but it reminded me of a junk yard. It suddenly became very apparent why so many other places have strict guidelines as to what you can set up on your site. It was like a bad episode of hoarders. They had so many activities planned for the children. When we made the reservation I was impressed by all they offered but after we arrived I decided I was not stepping outside of our camper other than to get in our car to leave. This was our 5th stop out of 6 total. I have never seen so many people with cigarettes hanging out of their mouths and beer cans in their hands. To each their own but this felt like hillbilly hell. It's a shame. All I can think of is my husband saying how nice the office staff is. The surrounding area is so nice and I'm sure this campground could be as well but they need to get strict with their rules because some of those sites are outrageous. I can't give an opinion on the activities or amenities such as the pool because we literally never stepped outside unless we were getting in our...
