I'm a Marriott / SPG Life Gold and I have stayed in my fair share of hotels around the world. This stacks up high on the list due to few reasons, including the extraordinary service experience.
Location - Proximity to San jose SJC airport and about an hour south of SFO. Pricing - The weekday night we stayed, it was quiet and easy to get to. We got room for about $180 plus taxes and was well worth it. 3.Service - Almost all staff are women, and it shows in the care and service levels. We were checked in under 2 mins, by a pleasing young woman who also did not hesitate to upgrade us to a room with a view of the bay. Parking - Parking is plentiful and free. Breakfast - Free breakfast included in the rates, like other Fairfield however it exceeded expectations. There are some options for food that could be ordered at the bar, apart from the market options. Transit - Uber ride away from Great America Amtrak station, and other public transit. Hope to explore these options in future stays Age - The property is about 3 plus years old (2019) and it shows in the rooms, bed, bathrooms etc. Sustainability - Its also a Gold LEED certified property, you dont see that everyday. Good for the environment of course! Use of soap and body gel dispensers too. Water can be refilled inside the 24 hour gym. 7.Room - The rooms have everything! Flat screen TV, lot of space that's cleverly optimized, large work desk, USB ports, fridge, microwave, central AC ( as opposed to window units )ironing board etc and most importantly spotless bathrooms. Wifi - Fast, reliable connectivity. Airport shuttle - Didnt notice one, but very close to San Jose airport. EV charging - Noticed about half a dozen ports for EV chargers. Amenities - Although we didnt get to explore everything, it has an outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, mini golf and a trail that goes by the bay!
There's not a whole lot I didnt like, everything was on point. The property is colocated with Residence Inn (one half Fairfield) and very close to a lot of tech companies in the area. Look forward to another stay here soon!
Overall score - 5/5 Transit -...
Read moreOur family had a fantastic time here. It was wonderful to be able to bring our pets with us. The beds were very comfortable, the toiletries luxurious, everything was impeccably clean and beautiful.
The breakfasts were hearty and delicious. I have celiac and so there wasn’t much for me to eat, but my family really enjoyed the food, eggs, sausage, waffles, pastries and yogurt. It was great to have the mini-fridge and microwave in our room to be able to have food for me too, anyone with food restrictions understands what a bonus this is.
One of the very best parts about the Fairmont may have been the staff who were all very kind and helpful at every opportunity. We stayed four nights in total, the first night my son and I and the last two nights myself and his grandparents. When we checked in, the nice woman offered to have the room reset and cleaned on the day in between so that the grandparents would have a fresh linens for their half of the stay which I thought was very considerate for her to suggest. Little things like this with every interaction made us feel welcomed and cared for.
The location is a little bit further out, 20 minutes from our main destination (Stanford) but it was lovely being next to the Guadalupe River. Every morning I saw beautiful wildlife, one day a squadron of pelicans, another day a black-crowned night heron and every day there were snowy egrets fishing and pretty little blue birds flitting about as well. You don’t get to see that if you are right in the middle of the city. The morning river walk was a joyous way to start each day.
There is a train nearby that you hear every once in a while but it wasn’t very loud, I only ever noticed it when I was awake.
This place has such incredible value for the price. Our family will definitely...
