From the moment we arrived, our stay was miserable. After a long drive, was looking forward to being able to relax and get a good night sleep before an early start the following day for our mini vacation. Front desk couldn’t find reservation under my last name or the reservation number yet could find it under my wife’s first name. Then informed that after years of a very reasonable pet rate (which is a reason for us choosing Residence Inn) that now it was over 6 times what it used to be! Okay too late to change hotels now as we had already paid through a third party with no chance at refund. Oh and we charge for parking though it is not a gated or protected area. Okay no big deal there get keys. Head to get family and dog out of car, head to door took several tries to get key to work for outside entrance door. Lovely stains in the hallway. Arrive at room only find door is very stiff to open. Upon entering the room we are met with the “most pleasant” boutique of mustiness and urine. Wait they just told me the reason for the extra expense for having the dog was that the chemicals they used to clean the room was so expensive. The chemicals would sure work better has they been used. First stop in room is the bathroom of course after a long drive. Wow toilet is cracked and glued back together. Finally finish unpacking and go get dinner and come back to get some much needed sleep. Sleep did not come easy for these weary travelers as the lovely upstairs occupants had two small children that sounded like a bunch of elephants doing the river dance until past midnight. How about we charge for noisy kids as we do for my well behaved small dog. We rise early the next morning eager to start our fun. Well the first one to shower sets off the smoke detector due to the steam. Thanks for keeping us safe but let’s not get carried away. Maybe if the fan had worked (poor sap that has to use bathroom after someone else has used it!) in the bathroom the alarm would not have gone off. Well I am glad I was first to shower though I feel sorry for my wife and daughter that had to stand in the dirty water on the bottom of the tub that drained slower than molassss in January. Wife decides to use in room coffee pot to brew her some coffee, but all she got was brown colored tasteless water. Come back from long day seeing the sites and enjoying ourselves. Much in need of a shower and a bathroom, what joy beholds is but the fact that not one both both keys do not work. To compound all this the hotel has so far charged several different charges to my card that add up to more than the fees I was responsible for. This stay was so bad that we actually left a night early eating the cost of that day. Maybe this was just a bad experience for this family but I can tell you that I would neither recommend this hotel nor would I ever stay at this hotel again. I am worried as I have a stay booked at another residence inn within two weeks. I will stick by this one star rating as this is the second worst hotel I...
Read moreLack of management and the Front desk personnel is unprofessional.
I was put into the Residence Inn from my Insurance company as i just had my house damaged with water.
This Hotel does not care if you are displaced. When I went to speak to them about how they were moving me for 1 day from a 2 bedroom to a 1 bedroom and then back to a 2 bedroom the front desk woman ( Mrs. P) was rude and had no options for you. NONE. She wanted to stand on the fact that it was booked and not her problem.
I expected this Company reputation would surface and they would want to talk thru this with me so we can figure out how i'm going to bounce around all weekend from room to room with all my luggage and family items? NOPE! Just she just said " its booked, yada yada" I was pretty upset and tried to explain that this is very stressful for me to move day to day and she just put on her " i don't care attitude". I said "have u had this happen to you where you have no home"? She just goes " me? yes i have!" I said " really, you have uh?" and she responds " yes!".. again I said " you've had your house demolished and no where to go, been displaced? her response " oh no".... I said " i thought so, maybe you should look at it from my end".
I than called State Farm and they told me " they don't release rooms until we tell them the insured is done, and i'm surprised that they did that".
So I move into the 2 bedroom again and went downstairs to ask if they could hold another 2 weeks while I get a hold of my insurance. Nope. I even suggested to hold it on my card until I speak to them. They said " uh no, we can't do that".
So next week comes and!!! My insurance calls them to extend it 3 more weeks and The Sales Manager decided to hike up our rate to $500 a night and could not guarantee an extended stay another 3 weeks.
We were paying $279, and his story was " its busy season" and hiked up our rate to $499.
I was "DONE". Not only this run around game, but they also didn't' schedule my cleaning at 11am ( Mrs. Pri again) and I had to search for them. They were on lunch, I had an appoint at 1:30, so I just took the vacuum and cleaned my own room!!.
The gym is tiny, the breakfast is below average and the personnel is immature and lacks professionalism.
Its the first Marriott I've been to where the staff is snooty, and the quality of their breakfast items are poor.
I will not be staying here again nor recommend it to our company housing agent.
You may look good from the accommodations, but your...
Read moreUpdated April 1, 2023: Went there for a second stay (business trip). I booked the room for a week, ended up staying two weeks due to business needs Upon initial arrival, I was asked how often I need the room serviced, I asked for every two days. Didn't mean much. It was only serviced once during my first week. The front desk said it was because of my set checkout day. The front desk attendants leave very much to be desired. On the second half of my extended stay my room was actually cleaned twice. Josh from the front desk is a welcome exception. He is very welcoming and professional. They need to train the rest of their staff in hospitality! On one occasion, I had to leave to work at around 4am, I found a very ugly cockroach on the wall near the door. I wasn't able to capture it. I did make sure made sure that I put all food away to prevent infestation. Now, knowing about the roach, the next morning I found a smaller roach on the bathroom floor under the bath mat. For a hotel that charges nearly $200 dollars a night, that is extremely unacceptable. I did discover in the fine print that the hotel charges $12 per night for parking your car there. That is in addition to the per night room price. That brings the per night stay to about $200 - wow Needless to say, a premium price for a sub par hotel. Very unfortunate as I've prized Marriotts throughout a large portion of my career due to knowing what to expect. In this case, very disappointing. By the way, having returned two weeks later from my previous stay, the same dirty clothes were still in the exact same place in the laundry room from my previous stay. Very disgusting and points to the reason that roaches are taking over.
Original review: The room is decent, the beds are comfortable. Housekeeping does a terrific job of cleaning and refreshing the rooms. I stayed in building three and a couple of things can be improved. The first is that the elevator is very dirty. The second, the laundry room washer and dryers work fine but the room itself was extremely dirty and looked like it hadn't been touched in a long time. There was a pile of dirty clothes that looked like it had been thrown below the clothes shelving. There was a second pile of clothes on the shelf itself. The wall base trim was missing and overall appeared that it lacked repair.
Aside from the laundry room and elevator, all else...
