I'm a host here this year and I can say the new company managing it have done a lot to get it open. Everything was a mess when we got here because of the company Vista that ran it before. The pit toilets were a mess it took days to clean each one, you couldn't find the fire pits because they were never cleaned out. When they turned on the water in the park every line blew because they never blew the lines out or winter wised the lines. The Manager worked tirelessly for weeks to get it fixed. My husband and I came up from NM for the job and we've been all over the country doing this. This campground is absolutely beautiful with big camp sites and beautiful surroundings. The problem is the people that don't know the basics of camping, it's simple leave the campground cleaner than you found it. Please stop putting trash in the fire pits, egg shells, cans, glass ect does not burn. Respect others and follow the rules. Be kind to one another and courteous to each other. We try to give you a great vacation even if you only stay a night. Go to your host, we will do anything for you that we can to make your stay/vacation as best as we can. After all you planned this trip to have a good time and I want you to enjoy your time as best as you can. Nothing is cheap anymore and I know you expect to have the best experience on your vacation. That's my job to help you enjoy yourselves. That is what a host is supposed to do.. hospitality, you deserve that and I provide that. Give respect and you'll get respect. Please come and enjoy yourselves here, we are trying our best to serve you. Have some patience this company that I've come to work for is new and are cleaning up the mess they were left. Thank...
Read moreJust returned from a one night stay in yurt 61 at Trillium Lake. First, the positives: The yurt, campsite and bathrooms well taken care of clean and comfortable, especially considering volume of day use and camping visitors at the lake. The staff managing the campsites were kind, courteous and eager to help us enjoy our stay. However, PLEASE BE CAREFUL - Pack water shoes to avoid injuries on fishhooks and other debris! We noticed many signs of poor stewardship and neglect around the lake. Day use areas around the shore had cigarette butts, cans, fishhooks and trash left by visitors. While signs were clearly posted prohibiting drones, a visitor flew a drone over the lake several times during our first afternoon even chasing a bald eagle who had been fishing the lake all afternoon. The visitor seemed unaware that this was not permissible at the lake or safe for wildlife. Trillium is a gem and it’s disappointing to see a lack of care and education around safe and respectful recreation in wild places. If you plan a visit this summer, please practice leave no trace principles and remember we are guests in spectacular and...
Read moreWe camped at Site 18 over a long weekend and really enjoyed our stay. A few things to note if you’re planning a trip here:
Site 18 (and other similar sites) is right next to the trail that runs between the campground and the river. This trail can be used by day visitors and hence during busy weekends, you’ll hear foot traffic and conversations during the day. If you prefer more peace and quiet, consider choosing a site further away from the trail.
Vault toilets were very clean and well-maintained during our stay — much better than expected.
While walking around the campground, you can catch glimpses of Mt. Hood through the trees, but for a full panoramic view, head about 10 minutes on foot from Site 18 toward the outer edge of the campground. There’s a small pier by the lake with a beautiful view of the mountain — totally worth the walk.
The lake area was lively and scenic, with lots of people enjoying kayaking, paddleboarding, and fishing.
Overall, the campground was clean, well-kept, and organized. Great choice for camping. Just plan ahead if you’re going during a holiday —...
