I came here for a four-night stay with a friend to visit Magic Mountain in hurricane harbor before summer break is over and we go back to the university. The room was extremely clean, I always travel with a black light and I checked all the sheets, all the carpeting and the bathroom and everything was sparkling clean.
The hotel staff was amazing and accommodating, I would always contact them using the Marriott bonvoy app if I needed extra towels, lotion, even for extra housekeeping while I was at Magic Mountain and I would come back to a fresh clean room.
I had breakfast and dinner at the bistro and the food was amazing, it was slightly overpriced but it's not going to break the bank compared to DoorDash or Uber eats. You can order food through the Marriott bonvoy app and go pick it up at the bistro, it'll be hot and ready. The bistro employees are extremely professional and work very hard to feed a lot of people in the hotel.
Housekeeping blew me away, every time I saw them, they were working hard and my room always stayed clean. They also brought up extra things that I needed at all hours of the day and night.
I suggest asking if you plan on checking out late and have Marriott elite status, to ask ahead of time. I didn't ask until the evening before for my priority late checkout at 2:00 p.m. and they told me through the app that all the priority late checkouts were taken but that they could slide me in and accommodate me. I was pretty happy because my flight didn't leave until 4:00 in the afternoon and I didn't want to check out at 11:00 a.m. and be hanging out at an airport for 5 hours. Hotel staff definitely gets big. Kudos points for taking care of their elite members no matter what!
I would highly recommend this location if you are visiting Magic Mountain. It's about a 8 dollar Uber ride to the park. I've stayed at other Marriott properties in the same area and I've had problems with the sheets, the cleanliness and the service has been horrible. The other Marriott properties are brand new and are a lot worse, this location is older but blows away all the other Marriott properties in the area by a long shot. This place is great and will be my go-to from now on when I want to visit Magic Mountain.
Also, they always have the signature Marriott courtyard sent in the lobby. It's rare to find properties that actually still use the signature Marriott scents. The smallest details make a big impact. It's great to see that the management cares even about having that signature smell that people recognize with the Marriott courtyard...
Read moreI booked my stay last November 16 to November 17, 2017 through Marriott.com. The check-in process was excellent especially the professionalism of the person who handled my check-in. Marriott staff are always extremely helpful but things change the following morning when I try to ask the morning shift person by the name of "Zoe" how I can avail of the breakfast. Without asking my room number to check if my stay is with breakfast inclusion, she said "they don't provide free breakfast." I decided to order my breakfast for my wife(my wife and baby was with me) and decided not to join them for breakfast as I have to attend to an early business appointment. I came back around 9:30am and again spoke to "Zoe" to clarify why my breakfast rate was not honored. She reiterated that they "don't provide complimentary breakfast" but I told her I book the rate with the breakfast. She said I must have book through a 3rd party as they really do not give breakfast. I then showed her the Marriott advertisement and informed her that I did not book through a 3rd party but through MarriottRewards.com and even told her that I am a Silver Elite Member. I told her she should have checked my room rate instead of telling me outright that they don't give free breakfast. She then rationalized claiming that I walked away fast after she told me earlier that there was no free breakfast. The cafe was just a few meters from where she was and she could just approached me if she truly cares. But apparently she does not even know that Marriott has a breakfast rate offer as she initially insisted I may have booked through a 3rd party.
Though another customer (who have been staying there for 2 weeks) praised her for her good service, her actions and respond to my query prove otherwise. I felt that since I only stayed one night I do not get the same service compared with other customers who stayed longer. In fact while still processing a refund on my breakfast that I paid earlier, she opted to assist and help the customer who praised her instead of finishing up with me. Her actions truly shows a double-standard sort of treatment for long-term stay guests.
We checked out on the same morning and before we passed by the counter, we saw her walking to the counter from her office and as both my wife and myself knew that she saw us we never got any greetings of "thank you for your stay" at all. Her actions was very different from the gentleman who assisted me during my...
Read moreI want to start by saying that I have stayed at this particular Courtyard Marriott before (Nov 2019) and had a fine stay. I also usually stay at Courtyard Marriotts all over the country when I travel for both business and leisure and have done so for years (pre-pandemic). My rooms are usually clean and housekeeping has usually done a really good job preparing it. This experience however, was possibly the WORST and most disgusting I've ever been through at ANY hotel ever. What I walked into would have been awful at any time. However, during a global pandemic, this experience was nothing less than radically unacceptable and quite possible a major health risk. The room I was given was absolutely filthy. I couldn't possibly cite all of the ways this room was unclean. However, some big mentions are the sticky mess (I don't even want to know) all over one of the Queen Bed Headboards, the long brown hairs found all over the bathroom floor and in the "clean" towels that were hanging in the bathroom, and the sticky 4" round black spot on the carpet between the two beds. Every major or high-touch surface had either dust or was actually sticky to the touch. The floors were not well vacuumed and even the phone receiver was not clean; it was sticky and gross. I was traveling with my 7 year old son and THIS is what we walked into. I immediately brought the issue to the attention of the person working the front desk. He said he was spread too thin and had no one on the desk working with him. He also said that he had no one in the building from housekeeping to help actually clean the room properly. He offered to change our room at about 8pm (my son's bedtime). I declined because that disruption would have been even worse. Instead, I asked him to send up some cleaning supplies, rags and clean towels so that I could clean parts of the room myself. He did that and by the time I finished cleaning all of the above and more, there was no way I was going to move my room. I knew that the cleaning I had done was going to be better than the gamble of moving our room and having to start over. So, instead, we just stayed in this gross room that was a little less gross since I had cleaned it and made the best of it. Our stay was made even more unpleasant due to the smell of pot that was in the elevators and constantly wafting into our room from the hallways as well as the noise disturbance coming from next door. We had to call to complain about in order to...
