The location was great from a maps view being close to town and very close to the scenic drive just south. I read the reviews prior to going and didn’t fret because me and my lady actually enjoy staying at older hotels like the hotel st Michael in Prescott. It’s not always the fanciest but you can usually count on good service. Pick Diablo was a terrible experience. Their rooms were ok, but the tub was gross, found pubic hair on the shower curtain ( how do you know they were pubic hairs Jordan?… because those curly demons don’t grow anywhere else) and the jets sounded like a literal jet engine for a 737 was running them. I wanted to relax but was being deafened, the pillows are also a comedy routine that just keeps giving. I had to ask for 4 extra just to try to assemble something worth calling a pillow. All of this said, I was perfectly ok with going about our business. We had a decent breakfast, the sausage was wierd and you get 2 slices of bacon for 7$ but it was edible. The waitress was at least really chill. The highlight was the spa. Which I guess you can call a spa. It’s a room, attached to a couple bathrooms and another room with the massage beds. If I can say anything great about our experience it was the massage ladies they were super sweet and did a great job. Paying for what we did for the experience… mm it’s a massage not a spa. THE CHERRY ON TOP COMES STARTS AT THE BEGINNING OF OUR TRIP WHEN WE ARRIVED AND THERE WAS A TRAY OF FOOD LEFT OVER FROM THE PREVIOUS TENANTS. “Oh well, at least they enjoyed themselves, room service maybe I’ll try that”, I thought to myself assuming they’d come get it around housekeeping time if they hadn’t already. They made us wait to check in because our room wasn’t ready… this should have been taken care of right? Oh well. I’m in Sedona. We go out to watch sunset come back to get ready. STILL THERE. We leave for dinner and come back. STILL THERE. Wake up for breakfast. YUP. Leave to our hike for the day. ( it’s now 24 hours) come back to it still IN FRONT OF OUR DOOR. At this point I call the front desk and ask them to come get it please. PHILLIP ASSURED ME THIS WOULD BE DONE IMMEDIATELY. We go to get our 90 minute massage. AND WOULDNT YA KNOW ITS STILL THERE. At this point I don’t want my wife to see it as we go to our last meal. It’s now not a funny joke, it’s rude. So on my vacation, traveled far and paid well for, I had to walk an ant ridden tray from the farthest room. Room 601. Down by the villas. Alllllll the way to the front desk. William thankfully helped get it out of my hands, but unfortunately couldn’t direct me to anyone of true assistance. When finding out the restaurant was actually responsible for the room service delivery and removal apparently the restaurant and hotel are separate which is fine, but after calling the front desk…. PHILLIP HAD AMPLE TIME TO MANAGE THE SITUATION. But didn’t seem capable. And the restaurant just said welp… well tell Tony. Thinking I’d hear from Tony eventually… nope. ALL OF THIS MAY NOT HAVE SEEMED LIKE THAT NIGHT OF A DEAL UNTIL WE WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING TO A COYOTE LAYING ON THE LAWN, SEDONA IS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE OF NATURE OF COURSE THEY ARE GOING TO BE AROUND BUT CAN YOU DO YOUR BEST TO NOT INVITE THEM IN WITH FOOD TRAYS BEING LEFT OUT, NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A DOG FRIENDLY HOTEL. Super bummed that they couldn’t come through. I have no idea why CHASE TRAVEL would offer to use your points with them. I’m glad I didnt I just paid my own hard earned money but that’s how I originally found out about Poco Diablo. Little Devil. It’s literally the name, thought it’d be cute. It was not. No, it was not. Boo Phillip. Boo. Tony.

Update: my hotel room socks had a hole in the bottom center and when I took them off after about 15 minutes of walking around, my otherwise clean foot was filthy in that exact spot, a clear indication of how filthy the carpet in our room was. Picture attached. After staying at Poco Diablo Resort multiple times over the years, I'm disappointed to report a significant decline in quality. What started as a review for The Willow Restaurant has expanded to cover the entire property due to the numerous issues encountered so far, and it's only the first of 3 days. The room conditions were frankly unacceptable for a resort charging premium rates (average is about $250/night for this room according to Kayak). Our room has black stains and dirt throughout the carpet and on furniture, a shower that appeared to have mold and cracking along the base, wallpaper that is peeling and held together with Scotch tape, walls with nail pops and cracks everywhere, and a curtain rod that is coming apart. When we used the shower, the bathroom flooded. Even with a heavily discounted rate due to local events, our two-night holiday weekend stay cost approximately $500, which represents terrible value given these conditions. The resort has been undergoing renovations since mid-2022 (at least, which was the last time I was here) when construction severely impacted our guest experience. That time, there was construction equipment and a storage container in front of our room preventing us from using the parking lot and also blocking the view, being disruptive, etc. While the lobby has since been completed, the guest rooms that desperately need attention have been completely neglected. The dining experience at The Willow Restaurant was equally disappointing. Despite only about 10 parties dining, for 2 of us it took nearly 10 minutes just to be acknowledged at the hostess stand, another 5-10 minutes to be seated, and then we waited approximately 40 minutes before any server even approached our table. The person who eventually helped us was very friendly and helpful, but appeared to be handling all tables alone. Service times were excessive - a simple Coca-Cola took nearly 20 minutes to arrive. The Caesar salad had no discernible Caesar dressing and tasted only of overpowering lemon. Both the burger and steak ($24 and $34 respectively) were ordered well-done but arrived with inconsistent cooking - some portions well-done while others remained raw, which is a serious food safety concern. The marshmallow pudding dessert had wildly inconsistent temperatures, with some portions warm and others frozen, as if it had just been pulled from a freezer and partially thawed. Management did provide a 50% discount on our meal, which still totaled approximately $65. However, the combination of poor room maintenance, questionable cleanliness standards, inadequate restaurant service, and food safety concerns make this unsuitable for travelers seeking a quality resort experience. The property needs significant investment in both room renovations and restaurant operations before it can provide acceptable service. Will not be returning.

My girlfriend and I came here for a quick stay-cation, and I probably would have given 5 stars, but a few things stood out to me given the price per night. But first the good, they are nice rooms and very spacious. We stayed in the 2 queen room with a great view from the balcony area. The rooms are modern with a slight office feel to them but yet comfy. The surrounding grounds are beautiful and very well taken care of. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the main shopping strip but there's also some close shopping and restaurants nearby. Communication was great. They send you texts as to what events are being held and contact numbers to call if you needed anything plus a reminder text of how to check out which was cool. Now, the not horrible things but for $265 a night could be better comments. When we first tried to enter the room either the card key lock scanner wasn't working or it was the card itself but it took about seven attempts to get the door to open and for our two night stay this happened about 3-4 other times. Once inside inspecting the door, we noticed what would be a separate top lock hatch was either removed or ripped off the wall. So no extra security except the door knob lock. Began to get annoying. The back sliding door that led to the balcony was incredibly hard to open and close and wouldn't open fully either. Had to put my full body weight into it just to open and shut it. If an older couple were in there, i don't think they could have opened it. Considering you use that door quite a bit there to get to the main grounds, it needs to be fixed. Although they have almost everything in the room, I did wish it had a microwave for leftovers from restaurants we went to. Maybe I am not used to more upscale hotels but cheaper ones tend to provide some sort of complimentary breakfast of some sort. You will not get that here as that is a bundle special you will have pay for. The restaurant is very nice but very pricey. Just a breakfast burrito will set you back about $20. Probably best to venture elsewhere around town for your food needs. Seems like a lot of bad but it really wasn't deal breakers from staying again but for close to $300 a night I wasn't expecting the maintenance needed in regards to both the front and back doors. I would stay again for sure and would recommend to others as well.

Was visiting my sister in LA and we made a long pre-Memorial Day weekend visit to Sedona (May 25 - 27, 2023) and truly loved and enjoyed our stay at the beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, friendly and comfortable resort. We both are very seasoned travelers and I have visited 45 countries on all 6 permanently inhabited continents to date. Have also been to all 50 states, most of them two or more times. I say this only to let the reader know that I have seen and experienced everything imaginable and have stayed in every form of accommodation possible, from 1 star to 5 sta.

What we LOVED about Poco Diablo Resort:

  1. The Location - is simply perfect. We liked the fact that it was located just outside of the hustle and bustle of Sedona's town center. It is close enough to all of the shopping, restaurants and other fun things to do and experience in town, but far enough away that you can truly feel and enjoy the peace, relaxation, beauty and ZEN-like vibe that Sedona is all about. The resort is truly tranquil and peaceful throughout the day and night, which we loved and appreciated very much.

  2. The Resort Itself - is stunningly beautiful, very lush and green, is tastefully decorated and appointed throughout, has an excellent restaurant on-site for both indoor or outdoor dining options which we took complete advantage of, has an on-site spa adjacent to the outdoor swimming pool which affords fantastic massages which we both enjoyed very much (extremely professional), has a very attractive heated outdoor swimming pool with adjacent hot tub with comfy pool chairs and furnishings surrounding it which we enjoyed a lot, great views of the surrounding mountains and colorful rock formations, convenient parking, outstanding service and hospitality, I could go on and on and on.

  3. The On-site Restaurant - was very good, just as I myself had read in other people's reviews when I was planning our trip. We ate breakfast there once and dinner twice and always chose the outdoor dining option. The food was very good, always cooked to order, the dining environment comfortable and relaxing and the service of high quality. We had a very special waiter who took care of us for breakfast by the name of Mario, who is originally from Guatemala, who we both fell in love with almost immediately. Mario is the true definition of kindness, thoughtfulness and sweetness.

4] Cleanliness - OUTSTANDING. Everything, indoors and out, was very clean, very well maintained, tidy and in good working order. The landscaping is outstanding and well thought out with its beautiful gazebo, flowers, shrubbery, large rocks and other ornamentation located throughout giving the guest a well maintained and breathtaking environment. Rooms, public and private, were very clean and well maintained, as was the swimming pool, hot tub, restaurant, spa, gym, etc.

  1. Outdoor Swimming Pool and Hot Tub - excellent. The swimming pool was heated, which was fantastic, and is located right next to the hot tub which we enjoyed and was very clean. We appreciated the fact and noticed immediately that the pool water was not overwhelmed by the smell of tooooo much chlorine, which burns your eyes, dries out your skin and irritates your nasal passages. Another hotel guest agreed with us about this while we were in the hot tub together.

  2. Service - couldn't have been better. Resort staff couldn't have been nicer, more accommodating and hospitable if they tried, from check-in to check-out.

  3. Guest Rooms - very comfortable and clean, but nothing exceptional. Furnishings could definitely be upgraded quite a bit, especially the carpeting, but the beds were extremely comfortable and the pillows soft and cozy. We stayed in a first level room not too far from the swimming pool and were impressed and kind of surprised by how quiet our room was, especially in the evening. Our bathroom was very clean and of good size. We really enjoyed the very nice rain showerheads in the morning and the...

My girlfriend and I came to Sedona for a 3 day vacation for our anniversary. With only two nights to spend in a hotel and a short time to explore the city, we wanted to treat ourselves to a nice room/resort. We were torn between Poco and another hotel nearby named Sky Rock, looking at the premium king room options. We ultimately decided on Sky Rock, although more expensive, because the view of the Red Rock from the porch that room had. When booking the room a few days before arriving there, we called to make sure the amenities were open (specifically the pool which was a must for us two). Well after our long hot drive from California our excitement built up to jump in the pool, we arrived to Sky Rock and drive by the pool that was empty, and a whole lot smaller than it did online. They closed the pool for a “deep cleaning,” and would stay closed until our checkout. The lady at the desk was nice and offered the $25 per night amenity fee to be credited back to us, and were of course given the option to cancel without fees. I asked to see the room and we briefly checked it out to help us decide what to do.

We paid well over $500 for this premium king room for two weeknights. The room didn’t excite us when we went in. It wasn’t as big or nice as we were expecting. We go to our outside “terrace” and it was a large area that was shared with all the rooms along that side of the building! We definitely were under the impression we had our own balcony with this room on the elevated floor/view, and that wasn’t the case. Also the “upgraded” tub we were expecting was a very regular sized tub without any jets, in a very small and ordinary bathroom.

My girlfriend, who’s the one that actually surprised me with this trip and got the room instantly seemed devastated, and we felt ripped off. I quickly got on my phone and before doing any research, I decided to call Poco. A lady named Cindy answered the call, and I explained to her what was happening, and she was so pleasant and understanding, and accommodated us so well!! I told her I’d be there in 5 minutes and cancelled our original reservations.

Cindy offered us an upgrade from the deluxe room to the Poco King room, and told us about all the amenities that were there and were open, and gave me a price that was $200 less than for the two nights!! When I got there I asked Cindy if the room has a tub/jacuzzi in it. After she realized our interest in a tub for a romantic bathe, she told me she had something even better for me, and placed in their Elite Spa room, with in-room jacuzzi for two!

So it ended up working out for us after all! The room was bigger and nicer room than the premium room at the other hotel, and had private balcony and a fireplace. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi was big and very nice, as well as the restaurant/room service, which was all delicious! The staff was very pleasant, as well, from Cindy, to another lady named Cyd that works their assisting guests around the property, helped us out with other housekeeping and other needs a few times as well which isn’t even her position. When I asked a staff member walking by for help with my key getting in my room, he got us in, serviced the look/door, went to the lobby for us to get us two new keys, and even insisted on taking our room service tray out of the room that we were done with! Being in sales/management myself, I value this kind of customer service. So I decided to share this story not only to recognize them and the resort, but to help guests with their decision if they are torn between a few different places as we were ourselves.

If you want a nice room at an amazing value for your trip to Sedona, definitely check out this hotel!!...
