I love this campground!! It's snuggled in the middle of Sedona, but hidden away from everyone. It's a little difficult to find at first. Just take the first turn off into the Paco Diablo resort when you're heading north on 179 (Red Rock highway) follow the road down past the rooms and cabins on the right and the entrance is on the left beyond the cattle gate. The sites are HUGE!! Meant for 30-75+ people per site. The rates are fairly cheap and when you're splitting it 30 ways it makes things manageable. The campground is right on Oak Creek, and there's an amazing hike to some caves and a pretty cool tree. Take it easy and watch for snakes. I've seen one in the caves.

Had a peaceful night at Chavez! The camp hosts — Brian and Katy were so sweet and I really enjoyed our conversations. I consider this experience a “Holy moment” as it was a last minute stay and worked out perfectly. This would be a wonderful spot to have a camping family reunion, girls trip, Boy Scout or Girl Scout trip, hey even a camping/outdoor bachelorette if you’re outdoorsy 😂 cold plunged in the river and hiked to Raven caves. Perfect secluded spot near a resort!

Reminder that camp hosts rotate and change. We were here for thanksgiving and D and his wife were INCREDIBLE. So kind, helpful, and just genuinely good people. The property is beautiful and set in a canyon so it’s so quiet and peaceful. The bathrooms were kept clean, firewood was available for purchase, and every site has tables, fire pits, and grills. So thankful we found this place!

My family had reservation for last weekend, this had been our favorite campground for over 15 years until July 30th first we were greeted by camp host, right from gate said the previous hosts were not doing their job, said music fine but didn't want to hear it, she came back later that night ..couple guys laughing too loud, then told them we had to take down our changing room/ shower did not want to see it up... Saturday we took it down... when by creek the people in next campsites had a shower/ changing room in their campsite..WTH im like that's not right not fair... later that afternoon a family member drove out/in with their music playing, the host husband came down told me we are not allowed to play loud music, I told him OK he had never been camping before... but I didn't appreciate him addressing me with his hands on his hips spitting as he turning red yelling. that's it i hear anymore from you guys you're OUT OF HERE JUST LIKE AN UMPIRE !!I JUST AGREED BECAUSE DID NOT WANT TO CUT MY FAMILY VACATION SHORT AND DRIVE HOME IN THE DARK TOO DANGEROUS.... AND THEN HIS WIFE CONNIE CAME AND TOLD A FAMILY MEMBER WE SHOULD NOT PLAY THAT GHETTO MUSIC!! WE NOT IN THE GHETTO!!!... I'm LIKE WTH... WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE....I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW HOW THIS CAMP HOSTS BEHAVIOR SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED.... I BELIEVE THEY WERE RACIAL MARKS... VERY DISCUSSED WITH THERE BEHAVIORS WE HAVE BEEN WAITING TO CAMP SINCE COVID OUT BREAK.... THEN GET THERE AND BE TREATED...

Oh my gosh, call this place and was told it was a first come first serve basis. Asked him if they had room for a 27 foot trailer. He did not say one way or the other just you will have to come and see if we have any available spots. This was in the early afternoon and when we arrived about 3 PM the gate was closed. The road into this place is a steep downhill road. There was no place for us to turn around, so we proceeded forward. The road ahead was a private road and not open to the public. But we had no choice as we were blocking everything and we could not back out. We went forward onto the private road which had a 10 foot wide pathetically made bridge that said Proceed at your own risk. We cross the bridge and ended up into even more problems with trying to get out of this prestigious private area. My advice is do not attempt to go in there unless you have walked Dan ahead of time and see that the gate is wide open so that you can proceed. It was the worst experience we have had on our...

If you’re concerned about rattlesnakes I would not recommend this place. We definitely encountered a few that were coming towards our campsite. The host lacked professionalism. We had a big group and the kids were a bit excited and “being kids” but the host’s choice of words were “This is bullshit” because of the noise level. The next morning she locked the restrooms on us. So petty and unprofessional. A warning would of been a better approach to this situation. We had a big group of 25 people, there were no other campers next to our campsites. We were quiet by 10pm. What kind of noise level did the host expected it to be when you allowed a big group reservation? Hopefully this establishment can coach their host to have better language when speaking on an issue with a paying customer. Nevertheless we apologized to the host for the noise even after her...
