We stayed in the Seascape Room for three nights. It was not what we expected from the photos and description on the website. This room was previously a ground floor bedroom on the front of the house. It is now entered through some sliding doors off a very small deck with a ramp. The bed is in the middle of the room so that it faces the sliding door. To say you can lay in bed and see the water is the first exaggeration. The water is across a road, behind a large hedge and in a cove well below the level of the road. The only water you can possibly see is pretty far off. We could see the sails from the parasailers on the water sometimes. there is one small nightstand on the wall side of the bed. You need the space on the other side to walk behind the bed to the "kitchenette". This is the previous closet which has had the doors removed so that it contains a small refrigerator with a coffee maker on top and a microwave on a shelf over that. The is a super small sink on one end of the closet. Since no breakfast is served, there were some granola bars and yogurt furnished. The bathroom is just as pictured as long as you realize that it was taken from the "walk in closet". The closet in reality is a 3' wooden bar for hanging clothes on one end of the bathroom with a three drawer dresser against one wall. Not a closet by any means. We asked for a few more hangers and got them promptly. One plus was the comfy bed with quality linens. However, the rest of the furnishings consist of the two chairs and a very small side table between them - see photo on the inn's website with two chairs at the foot of the bed. My husband had some work to do but there was nowhere to set up his laptop and some papers. He ended up trying to balance it on the folding luggage rack. There are two deck chairs but the area is very windy and cool even in June and July so sitting outside wasn't possible. Overall, if you want to be in a quiet residential area and don't mind a 20 minute to an hour drive to get to points at Olympic National Park, this might work for you. But overall, this was not what we expected and we will have to look more closely at photos and disregard descriptions...
Read moreWe stayed here at this wonderful B&B for 3 nights which gave us a great opportunity to meet the Host Craig and his wife Michele. What a great time we had visiting Sequin and staying here. 1st we don't usually stay at B&B's but after doing an extensive search, this was the "Best" appearing place to stay in the area. When we arrived and throughout our stay, we were very happy with the accommodations offered which included a view of the ocean, a balcony to sit in the evening enjoying some wine and taking in the sites, a comfortable bed, electric fireplace, bathroom, large storage closet and very clean room. Other amenities included an attached greenhouse, small kitchen for early morning coffee or tea and very comfortable common seating areas to sit, read and relax. We completely forgot about the "breakfast" part of "B&B." So when the host stated breakfast would be served around 8:30, it was easier on us not to have to run out in the morning an buy breakfast of cook ourselves something. Here was the surprise..... Breakfast was delicious and very gourmet! We would have never ate such a great breakfast anywhere out! Plus, the other guests were so lovely, that we all shared our stories about WHAT we were doing in the area which gave us all great ideas what and where to explore, in case you had nothing to do. The B&B is about 5-10 min from the main highway so access to all the other towns was easy and relaxed driving. The area has great weather year around and according to the Hosts, it rarely snows and temps are comfortable year around due to its location between the mountains and the sea. I must say, the hosts were so friendly and helpful, the breakfast was so delicious, the City of Sequinn is so very charming and accommodations were just great and worth the value that we would certainly stay here again! Thank you Craig..Kyle and Christine...
Read moreWe stayed at the Greenhouse Inn for four nights as part of our honeymoon to ONP, and it was easily one of the highlights of our trip. As every other reviewer has said, Craig is an incredible host and chef! We loved the morning multi-course breakfasts, which were beautifully presented, absolutely delicious and also balanced and healthy. Craig is a fantastic host who is truly interested in each of his guests, and we loved chatting with him each morning over breakfast. And as a young, non-white couple, we felt welcomed from the minute we stepped on the property, which is not always the case when we travel to rural parts of the country.
The property itself is situated in a gorgeous area, with the Dungeness Bay to the north and the Olympic Mountains to the south. We were in the Bay West room, and saw THREE bald eagles from our window as we were checking in! Each room has a private balcony, and there are also beautiful vistas from the common areas of the house, so you can get a glimpse of the mountains if you're in a Bay room, and vice versa. There is a common kitchen with tea, coffee, drinking water, a sink, table and fridge, although stovetop cooking isn't allowed. As others have mentioned, there is a gorgeous sunken library and greenhouse, as well as a telescope facing the bay in the common area.
The location was great for views and sunsets over the bay, and also for proximity to the park and amenities. It's about an hour drive to the entrance of ONP, and 2.5h to Hoh Rainforest. Although it's not as close as Port Angeles, we're glad we stayed here since we had fantastic views and there are a lot of nearby restaurants and coffee shops in Sequim (tip -- go to Hardy's nearby for deli sandwiches and provisions for park days). Highly recommend the Greenhouse Inn for your trip to the ONP- you will...
