GM Marybeth was miserable and insulting to say the least.
NOT KID FRIENDLY!
Every employee that we interacted with was nice, respectful, and helpful EXCEPT for Marybeth the general manager. We stayed over the 4th of July and she worked that day. It is understandable that she was not happy about working on a holiday, but that does not excuse her behavior. We were there for a softball tournament with about half of our team and their families. It rained and there was not much to do outside. We cooked on the grills on the patio and then came into the pool area to swim with the children. I had water in a Stanley cup at the pool. The other parents had drinks with a lid on them. We were sitting on the edge of the pool or in the pool standing along the edge talking while the children played. Marybeth came into the pool area and approached us with an attitude and raised her voice. She told us that there are no drinks allowed in the pool because she has to physically get into the pool and fish out the bottle lids at the end of the night. I didn't say anything because I did not think that rule applied to me because I did not have a lid. The rest of the parents were respectful and put their drinks back away from the pool and didn't have another drink of them. Five minutes later she came running into the pool yelling. She said I don't know how much clearer I can be, there is no drinking in the pool. Then she looked at one of the parents and said I see you rolling your eyes. Then she looked at another parent who was sitting at one of the tables in the corner with her drink and said and that goes for you too. She never said no drinking in the pool she only said about not having the bottles with lids around the pool. She was acting like a dictator. She was unprofessional. I am a senior accountant with a master's degree. I work for a multibillion-dollar company that has subsidiaries worldwide. Approach is everything. She was not clear the first time in what she wanted and then she came back to yell and personally insult us. She then turned to our children and told them "Don't be like your parents when you grow up. Don't drink alcohol.". That is a personal attack. I spoke up for the first time and told her do not say another word to our children. You have no business and no right to talk to them. Then she turned to them again and said "Don't act like your parents" and then looked at us while clapping and said "Great job mom". I have never been so insulted in my life. I have never complained to a hotel chain in the past, and there have been several times that I should have, but no other chain has ever employed anyone with the level of arrogance and disrespect that this...
Read moreI very HIGHLY recommend this place! My boyfriend and I were on our way to Pennsylvania transporting a work van, and around midnight the van broke down on the freeway. This was the closest decent hotel by us, and if I booked online I got a discount for pretty much the same price as the lower quality hotels. So while we were waiting for the tow truck I quickly booked our room. When we tried to check in our reservation hadn’t gone through yet (This is very common with online booking). The man at the front desk was a very nice man named Fred. He was trying to do everything he could to pull up our reservation so we could get in the room and go to sleep as soon as possible and not have to wait(he could obviously tell we were exhausted), but had no luck. Then we discovered that I booked the room for the next night! Since it was after midnight when I booked the room it was for the next day! And I didn’t realize it because I was all flustered about being cold and broke down on the side of the freeway. Anyway, Fred finagled some things around, and made it possible for us to get into a room so we could rest. He said as long as our reservation comes through that he will just change the dates for us, and we will only be charged for the one night. Fred could have very easily told us that there is nothing he could do, and my boyfriend and I were out $70 that we couldn’t really afford anyways, and we still wouldn’t have had a place to stay. Instead he jumped through hoops and found a way to make it so we could get some sleep in a warm, safe place. The service was absolutely impeccable. I appreciate what Fred did SO much. We would have been in a very unfortunate situation if he hadn’t been willing to figure something out for us. So, a MILLION thanks go to Fred for accommodating us during this stressful situation. Also our room is spotless, the bed is extremely comfortable, and I’m looking forward to our free buffet breakfast in the morning. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good...
Read moreIf I could give a rating of 0 stars I would! Disgusting experience! My husband and I drove overnight 14 hours away to spend the holidays with family. We got in at about 8 am and the room was ready. We we're thinking great! This is going to be an awesome stay! Our room is already ready. We get into the room set up all the baby's things (we have a 9 month old that crawls) and I get ready to get in the shower. My husband asked me if I gave the baby an orange. I told him no I did not. He said "Wow there is an orange peeled up under this bed". Mind you we didn't go looking under the beds, we could see under from the bathroom. I figured alright, it happens, the room looks fairly clean. So we throw it away and I hop in the shower with the baby. While in the shower, I look up and there is mold caked ALL over the walls and ceiling. I told my husband I couldn't do it and it was a health risk, especially for the baby. So they promptly move us. Barely apologized or offered us anything for the issue. Now a few days later at 4 in the morning we get woken up by a STRONG cigarette smoke smell. Almost as if someone is smoking in our room. My husband goes to the front desk to complain and they guy is completely out of hand and says "All of a sudden you smell smoke at 4 in the morning? The only thing I can do is move you." We didn't expect this place to be a 5 star hotel but we never would have thought the customer service would be this aweful and the hotel would be this disgusting. We've stayed here in the past with two large dogs and it was not like this at all! If you have the option DO...
