Everything was pretty good for the most part. There were a few things that caught my eye or that I thought were weird. Before saying these things, though, I will say I will go again and try it a second time. Sometimes, people or businesses just have bad days. **The room was fairly clean, except I noticed the counters had debris and crumbs in the corners like someone didn't wipe them down properly, but instead just did a quick swipe. The bathroom and microwave counter both were like that. The ice bucket had sticky stuff on the lid that came off with hot water. The jets in the bathtub had mildew or mold build-up in them. That's it for cleanliness. Everything else was clean. I do feel like a lot of the issues are simple things that take 3 seconds to do. Maybe someone was in a hurry. **You can't shut the curtains all the way. They have a sheer one hanging up that does close to cover the widow completely, BUT the second curtain, which isn't sheer, only closes on each side of the window about 1/4 of the way. So you're left with about half of the window, basically open, and this is on the ground level. There is also a wooded area and NOTHING ELSE when you look out the windows on that side of the building. All I kept thinking was it would be really easy to sneak up and just watch me sleep or do whatever. **The side doors are never locked. There's security boxes that read the key cards to get into the side doors, are broken. So the hotel is open to whoever. **There were 3 different men hanging around in the halls all night. On the phone going back and forth. I don't know if they are employees or part of the family that owns/runs it...but they were constantly on their cell phones, and in and out of 2 different rooms across from me. They made a good deal of noise between 12am and 5am. **Last, but definitely not least because this is the only reason I picked this hotel. The pool is indoor and it is supposed to be heated as well as the pool room. We went down about 830pm to swim and the pool looked beautiful, it even had jets that were going pretty strong. My husband stepped in and it was so cold he had to get out immediately. I checked it because hubby is a baby sometimes and he loves water the temperature of Hades. (lol) It was definitely cold. Like faucet water cold. They also had the pool room door open and no towels. So I went out to ask if they could turn the heater on in the room and the pool and close the door then I asked for towels. The receptionist said there is no heater in the pool and the door is broken. Then said the towels are on the big shelf to the left inside the door. I told him they were gone and he said they had no more and to use my room towels. I was not happy to say the least. Then when we went to check out I saw people in the pool so I went in to ask and I felt the water, it was bath water warm and the door was closed, and the towels were stocked.
They did have a great breakfast, eggs and a waffle maker, 3 cereals, fruit, coffee, juice, bagels and bberry muffins and...
Read moreEdit: the owner replied to this post with a generic message and some vagueness of notifying housekeeping. It's on the owner. If you have one fricken employee in the entire building that's on you. Not the SINGLE OR MAYBE DOUBLE EMPLOYEES YOU ARE WORKING LIKE SLAVES. I saw this man work literally 24 hours two days in a row. Terrible location I will never give them my money again.
I'd like everyone to know I'm not picky and I don't complain about a lot of things. I slept in a camper for months at a time just for fun.
I'll start with the good: the bed was comfortable and there weren't bed bugs. The front desk employee was nice and was working with what he had.
Now off to why I'm giving this 1 star. The pool was insanely cloudy. It looked like I'd get a disease just sitting near it. The lobby stunk of chlorine. I think there's only one employee in the entire building. He was doing literally everything. I don't blame him for this but the management needs to hire more people. I asked for an extra towel and they didn't have any extras and it took an hour to get one. My room was so dirty that it seems like the bare minimum was done to clean it for years. The carpet was starting to peel away from the walls. There was dust and dead bugs piled everywhere. The comforter felt like it hadn't been washed in at least a year. The toilet was molding severely. The shower had used bandaids in the corner of it THE FLOOR OF THE ROOM WAS LITERALLY STICKY. It's a carpet. How is the floor sticky...? I had to wear my shoes to go anywhere in the room. The room smelt like someone was burning incense. I found out it was coming from the chair. I'm guessing someone spilt something on it or is trying to cover up a smell. There is a low battery smoke detector going off in the hallway. The breakfast ran out multiple days. The public gate doesn't lock. Genuinely I had to reach to think of good things for this review. I have never been to a worse hotel in my life. I can even say I've only been to one other MOTEL that is worse than this "hotel". I swear most of the good reviews are fake. If you look at them a lot of them mention the same things. Which normally I would take as a sign these things actually exist. But in this case it seems the opposite.
I left a bunch of pictures if anyone wants context of what you'll get at this hotel. Unfortunately a picture can't convey the stickiness of my rooms carpet.
I won't be coming here and honestly this has put me off from all...
Read moreDecent hotel on the surface, clean at first look and it went through a few small renovations recently but definitely need more. Room 206 and the second room offered (209) both had funny smells. Great location; right off the highway. Staff is friendly. Basic free breakfast with hot items. There's a huddle house, Hardee's, and dairy queen within walking distance. There's plenty of parking. Beds are not the most comfortable. I had a king Jacuzzi suite. The Jacuzzi was in the bathroom with an odd little window so you could see through however there was a curtain (still not much privacy for using the restroom or showering. Still a near little feature compared to the basic hotel rooms.
UPDATE: I did my review before I actually finished my stay. Last night I decided to fill up the tub (with soap) so I could clean out the Jets before I used it. Hair and dirt came out of the Jets in large clumps it was so disgusting that I didn't even put my hand down in to drain it. I went to the front desk and they gave me another room which I checked the tub in. It was clean but the room had a horrible smell and didn't seem as clean as the room I was already in. I decided to stay in my current room... so I basically paid for a King jacuzzi suite and couldn't even shower. This was probably a once in a time issue BUT Apparently they don't run the jets to clean them out or this wpulsnt of happened. Room 206- I added pics of the tub. Another note: when I arrived at my first room initially it smelt like stale smoke which I mentioned to the front desk and they said they didn't have another room available and were sold out for the night. I found out when I went to mention the hair issue they obviously had another room available because they were going to switch my room.. so the lady lied. I used half a bottle of perfume to cover the smell in the first room.
Also, the hallways are crazy hot. For a comfort inn it was in...
