Quality Inn Shallotte — Hotel in Shallotte

Stayed here multiple times and each stay only got worse. The most recent time I stayed, upon entry we had to wear masks which is fine. However, the lady at the front desk took hers off and left it off for the remainder of the evening. Also attempted to deny us service for no reason. We had a room reserved and already paid for online. They would not accept it, so we had to pay again. Whatever. The room was decent, not anything to complain about at first until we saw that there were roaches in our bathroom. There wasn’t a whole swarm, but where’s there’s one or two, there are many more somewhere else. There were also a few in the hallways!!! We ended up leaving and having to come back for the fourth because everywhere else was booked. When we entered, the lady at the desk informed us that my dad (who had a separate room) and I’s rooms both received noise complaints. But there was absolutely no noise coming from either one of our rooms and nobody came and told us that we had received noise complaints. Like okay, my dad had already checked into his room before we got there, so why wasn’t he informed when he was checking in? Better yet, why weren’t we informed the night we received noise complaints or the morning we checked out??? If anything, I was able to hear 5 or 6 rooms down the hall from us but I believe that’s because the walls are so thin. My final complaint is the staff. The cleaning ladies curse up a storm and will do it right in the hall or in the rooms while they’re cleaning with the door wide open. And that’s honestly so inappropriate. We drove 9 hours from NJ,when we arrived the female behind the desk was on the phone, she never acknowledged us and kept on with her conversation for about 7 mins. Once she hung up the phone I proceeded to give her my fiancé's cc and ID. We both initialed and signed a paper saying we had no pets and would not smoke in the room or on the property. I went upstairs to our room while my fiance unloaded the car. The rooms are VERY small, there was blood stains on the duvet, and a cigarette burn hole in the mattress pad ( but there's no smoking🤷‍♀️). And the floor was not swept or mopped. I went back downstairs and let the employee know that it was unacceptable. She then offered me another room which looked like someone had just ate at the desk and that floor was also unswept or mopped. I went back to the front desk and told her for the amount we were paying it's completely unacceptable. It also appears that people live here as well. You take this review how you want, it's definitely not how it is advertised and most of these reviews are definitely lies. Website advertises pet friendly. We go to check in and we're told no pets allowed. We had to actually beg to allow our our small 8 pound dog to stay. They charged us $25.00 a night for 3 nights and said we could never leave her alone in the room. We always take her with us anyway so that wasn't a problem. After being at the hotel for a few hows we saw at least 6 other people with dogs. Each of these people had 2 dogs. 5 of the people had large dogs weighing at least 70 pounds on up. Another person had 2 medium dogs. 1 person said they got hassled like we did but the other 5 couples did not. 4 couples said they didn't even have to pay extra to have their dogs at the Hotel. Our dog very seldom even barks. I just feel this is very unfair treatment. If its on the website it needs to be honored. If its not going to be honored then it needs to be removed from the website which only takes a minute to due for a computer savy individual. I have to commend ALL the housekeeping staff.
