Starlight Motel — Hotel in Sharpsburg

Please beware this place! The cleaning man steals! The workers act nice until they have your money then the rudeness and inappropriate questions begin. The rooms stink. The cable barely works and the Wi-Fi is the absolute worst! They have annoying dogs that bark 25/7 especially at night time so it’s hard to sleep along with the hotel being right beside train tracks. The owners have no boundaries they feel like they have the right to ask you any personal questions they want and will refuse your stay if you don’t answer the inappropriate questions how they want them answered. The showers don’t work properly (barely any water comes out). The floors are sinking in. They wake you up around 9am to get the room key from you even though checkout isn’t until 10:30am regardless of you being sleep not to mention every typical hotel checkout time is at 11am. You’re not allowed outside of your room. No refrigerator in most rooms. Would definitely recommend the motel next to the Sharpsburg supermarket they offer weekly rating or rooms at the same price with more space and better overall accommodations. I walked into the room and the lighting was horrible, there was a large stain in the center of the floor. The only 2 pillows were literally as thick as a Bible and the sheets were pilly and were a dingy off white. I felt very unsafe and unclean. The staff were nice and offered me another room. I walked into it and there was a giant stain in the center of the comforter. I went back in and was offered some gum and a protein bar and they asked me what was wrong so they could address it. I was not given a refund as they do not give refunds and the desk guy just walked off. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. I was trembling I was so uncomfortable. Overall great experience. Me and my girlfriend were looking for a good priced, taken care of motel. The price was great and the room was pretty good as well. It was cozy looking a little small, but had a nice sized fridge, microwave, tv, and a beautiful bathroom. (Bathrooms are my necessity when getting a room) The owners are very nice and make sure everyone is well and good people. If you are a door knocker or a night roamer, I wouldn’t suggest this place. They want to make sure their customers are comfortable and unbothered. Definitely recommend, we still come here often! Only complaint: Have to mess with the knob for the hot water.
