My friend and I check into our room at 3pm on Friday 7/25. We had an event that evening at Hill View Manor that started at 7pm -3am. We got our room keys and proceeded up to our room on the 2nd floor. Which by the way, this hotel has NO ELEVATORS. We get into our room drop off our luggage, freshen up, and leave the hotel around 5 to go grab dinner before our event. We return to the hotel at around 3am to find the parking lot was packed. We return back up to our room, where neither one of our room key cards would work. After a few attempts on each key card and no luck of getting into the room, I went down to the front desk and spoke to the employee on duty. Provided to her our room card key to her and explained that for some reason the cards aren’t working as they did before and we are not able to get into our room. The employee verified with me the room number and last name. Then she asked me if we were being moved from a different room. I said no, we’ve been in this room since we check in at 3pm on Saturday. She said that in her computer system we were not marked as being check in. She makes a few clicks on the computer, reset our card key pass and wishes me a good night. I go back up to the room where my friend has been patiently waiting out in the hallway. We get in the room and right away I see the TV is on. We did not turn the TV on. We notice loose change laying on my friends bed. We didn’t have loose change. There was a 1/2 bottle of cold water sitting on the table. Not ours either. In the bathroom, both toilet seats are up and there is urine in the toilet. We’re two females and don’t pee with the seat up. None of what we found was from us. The soap bar that we had opened from its package was not where we left it. There was a white hand towel laying on the counter that had snotty mucous in it. My friend and I at this point were completely grossed out not to mention extremely tired as it was now 3:30am. I call down to the desk and the woman who I spoke to earlier answered right away. I explain to her what we found in our room. I said clearly someone has been in our room and made themselves comfortable. She admitted that she accidentally check another guest into our room earlier. She said the man came down and said that he noticed some luggage and sandals in the room & wasn’t comfortable staying in the room if it belong to another guest. Well no shit Sherlock. He shouldn’t even crossed the threshold because our luggage and personal belongings were in plain sight!! The employee said he told her he only used the bathroom and left once he noticed our belongings. That’s a lie because it was very obvious that he made himself comfortable and lord knows how long he actually stayed in our room watching TV and using our bathroom when we were gone. The employee the front desk offered to come up and clean our bathroom which I took her up on. She was up within a few minutes with a bottle of Lysol cleaning solution, gloves and paper towels. She apologized for all the distress she caused taking responsibility for the error but also said that “Christy” never check us in earlier properly. She also never mentioned at all when I brought the keys down to be reset that she check another guest into our room. I am certain if this man hadn’t left a mess in our room, which prompted me to call, she was never going to own up to her error. Unfortunately, we had to stay in that room and we made sure we had the dead bolt lock on while we slept. Thankfully, nothing was stolen from our luggage. My friend and I were so disgusted & uncomfortable by this whole situation that we check out a day early. This hotel is very out dated and truly nothing special. If you aren’t expecting much and have low expectations then this is the...
Read moreHorrible experience! This hotel hasn't changed cosmetically in 30yrs! Mu husband & I born & raised right there in New Castle! We just happened to live in Myrtle Beach now! My sister worked at this hotel when it was the Comfort Inn. Only thing different is the staff were more caring back in them days and bedding was different! These managers/ staff there now are nothing but theifs & abusive towards disabled people! Except for one staff member JALISA she was the only person who actually was nice & caring helpful! Never in my life have I've been treated with such disrespect from staff especially managers who are supposed to be taking care of a customer needs etc! Instead we were overcharged, put in wrong room but then moved , threatened, cussed at talked over etc. Krissy C who is supposedly manager is the most disrespectful person I've ever come across in customer service ! She doesn't want to stop & think before jumping into conclusions! Accused me & my Army veteran husband we were just trying to get a free stay when in fact we had already paid for our stay it was authorized/ held pending til checkout but since the hotel wanted to attempt 18 different times and different prices thise transactions were declined & those where the only one's declined so obviously Krissy C and Ruth C supposed managers were focused on those fraudulent attempt charges! My husband and I had no choice but to pay a different way for 2 nights instead of our original 3nights or be kicked out since Krissy claimed they were getting paid! Said numerous times WE AINT RECEIVING NO PAYMENT (her words) that ceedit card was kicked out system & had use different payment methods. So we did and guess what...my husband and I were right we were charged for the original payment on our card plus charged on the other card for same thing minus 1 night! So after all this abuse and allegations lies etc now we are out of money and having to go thru a whole process to get our hard earned money back from this establishment!! So my suggestion to anyone who is even thinking of staying here...DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CARDS BECAUSE THEY WILL OVERCHARGE YOU ALL RANDOM PRICES AND THEN THREATEN YOU! If i could go back to that 1st night when I went to check in things would be different! Steer clear of this fraudulent hotel. Dirty carpets; uncomfortable beds; no security measures ; photos they have posted are not of their location in New Butler Road. Pay attention to the customers photos. I wanted to fet more pictures but dues to all the stress i just wanted out...
Read moreMy family and I stayed at the Quality Inn for 3 nights. Before arrival i called to make sure iI was check in early, since I was driving 12 hours straight and would be up for 24 hours when we arrived. I first talked to Darrel. He was very polite .and very nice. I askedhim if I could check in early that I was driving from 12 hours away and would be exhausted when I got in. He assured me that I would be able to check in right away and wished me safe trip.
Upon arrival we were met by Chris. She was very friendly, great bubbly personality! And Darrell had everything ready for me to check in. All I had to do was sign my papers. He even had the keys made! Breakfast was still out so we were even able to eat! My kids LOVED the eggs! They even had biscuits .and gravey!
The beds were so comfortable, we all crawled right under the blankets .and got a few hour nap! And our room was so clean! There was a television, fridge, microwave, and coffee maker.
The hotel is very close tothe grocery store. My daughter's and i walked over there few times. While there we found a bouncy ball to play with in the little back yard they have. My daughter was bouncing it off a wall and she lost it in a gated area. Right away Amanda .and Tiffany( I think her name was) did everything to get it out! Tiffany crawled in the gated area and was able to get the ball. Amanda, is very sweet! Very easy to talk to! She has a great personality and talked to me like she had known me forever! It madethe time pass while I washed laundry ...in their little laundry area. I didn't have soap and would of had to run to the dollar general down the road but they hadall of the supplies I needed to do my laundry.
My kids absolutely adored the breakfast lady, Miss Joann! And on Sunday we had the pleasure of meeting her new friend Annemarie. The ladies were so friendly and offered great conversation. I wish I had talked to them sooner because they gave me a few ideas for our next visit.
Overall, our visit was amazing. The staff was very nice and eager to help! We really enjoyed our visit and can't wait to come back!
New Castle Quality Inn, you havean amazing staff, thank youso much for being so...
