I stayed here for 3 nights last week, and we had many issues. The 1st room I was given was not thoroughly clean. Beds were clean, however there was toothpaste in the sink, and the toilet and tub were filthy. Changed to another room. The front desk person was mortified; she was so embarrassed by the state of the first room. Clearly housekeeping staff had started to clean the room, were distracted or called away, and didn't finish cleaning the room. The 2nd room was much better, yet quite dusty, light switches were grimy, and the remote, even though it was silver-tone, was black with grime. These issues are really NOT all housekeeping's fault, because the lights are so dim, it's hard to see anything. I only noticed these problems because I used the flashlight on my cell phone for better light. As I was preparing to go to bed, my foot kicked something next to the bed. When I lifted the bedspread, I found a full can of beer on the floor. Clearly, housekeeping missed it. Now, the hotel itself is being upgraded, you can tell they're updating and making things nicer, which is great. New paint, new beds, which were very comfortable, with new bedding and bedspreads. Bathroom fixtures were newer. Carpet was old, curtains were old, and the front desk manager said they are down to upgrading carpets and curtains. I give them kudos for upgrading, and I don't even blame the housekeeping staff for the terrible cleaning job. Clearly this is a management issue and the housekeeping staff need better and more training. Our 2nd night when we got back to the room, our key cards would not work, and we had to get new cards. Then our refrigerator conked out and we had to get a new refrigerator. The front desk person was very friendly and apologetic, yet with so many problems I feel she should have compensated us in some way, even a 10 or 20% discount off the entire bill would have been nice. She did nothing for us except apologize. Will I stay here again? Probably not. UPDATE: six photos posted; it should be obvious which ones are "before," and which are "after." I had wipes in my car, and I cleaned the high-touch areas (light switches, faucets, remote...

Bed Bugs! I checked in on Friday, woke up Saturday and realized I had some bites, they're kind of like mosquito bites, I didn't think a whole lot about it, tonight, (Saturday/Sunday morning) I was laying in bed at about 2 am, and I seen in my peripherals a black spot moving over my shoulder on the pillow, I jumped up, pulled the pillow to the middle of the bed and turned the lights on, and the little critter ran to the underside of the pillow, I took a picture with my phone, ran and grabbed 2 cups from coffee maker area and scooped it in with one cup and sealed it in with the other and go down to front desk, I was informed there was nothing they could do about it because the owner is asleep, and the lady refused to contact him, and all the rooms were booked up (as if I'd want to stay and move rooms) so I went back to my room and emptied everything out of all my bags and searched every hole, pocket, crevice, and put my bag on a wooden chair, then I checked every single piece of clothing and even inside out and all pockets, one by one I put my stuff back in bags and even the clothes I was wearing, and my dirty clothes, I gathered all of my stuff and went back to lobby, I was told I could stay or go, I requested they pay for my room at another hotel since I've already paid for 2 nights, I am now at 4 a.m. writing this review because I want you all to be aware that if you have an issue in the middle of the night, the owner's sleep is more important than a customer with bed bugs, or any other issue for that matter....
Read moreMy husband, son, and I stayed at this super 8 motel while in Sioux city. The front desk person was Indian (no offense) and could barely speak English. It was cold and icy outside. After grabbing my 10 month old son and all our bags, she tells us that she gave us the wrong receipt (her copy). She made me go all the way back out into that weather to fix her error. Then we get up to the room and it didn't seem that bad. I go to make my son a bottle and I ended up have to jump through hoops just to warm the water. The microwave was sitting on top of the mini refrigerator that was plugged into a two socket outlet. The other socket was occupied by the only working light in the room. Every time I needed to heat a bottle I had unplug the mini fridge. I wouldn't hurt to invest in an adapter. Then my husband went into the bathroom. It looked like they just stuck us in someone else's room. There was a used hand towel near the sink. The trash still had stuff in it. We were afraid to even take a shower because we weren't sure whether the other towels were clean. It was so late, we were so tired from all the driving, and the receptionist probably wouldn't understand if tried to explain, so we didn't make a fuss about it. We just stayed the night and checked out very early in the morning. This place...
