We were only two of millions of people that were escaping hurricane Milton. We reached our destination to Tallahassee from St Petersburg and hit a dead end for accommodations. We spent three and a half hours calling hotels to be turned away because everything in a 100-150 mile radius reaching into Georgia and Alabama was sold out! It was our breaking point. we didn't know what else to do. Fatigue took our strength. We decided on one more try. It just so happened that Snead's showed up. About an hour west of Tallahassee. We called and what a shock it was to be told, "we have one room left"! We asked the price, and jumped on it. When we arrived, we were told the only reason they had that one room, was because of a last minute cancellation! check in was seamless. The room was clean, no bugs and we had everything that was needed!! Refrigerator , microwave, coffee pot, hair dryer, ironing board and ice cold A/C. Our bed was gloriously comfortable!!!! The owners are so kind and are up around the clock and the surroundings are quiet for being on a state highway. And the biggest surprise was the price!!! While everyone else was charging outrageous prices, The Seminole Inn keeps their pricing at normal, practical rates!!! It isn't a four or five star rated hotel but it is very worth the stay. Need is need and everything beyond that is fluff. In an emergency situation, what else is necessary? One would think that millions of people fleeing a potentially deadly storm, the hotel industry would have more compassion and not...
Read moreOld run down. Ran by rude foreigners. Our family made reservations here along with several other families for the Southern Outlaw Dragboat Race. We pulled in the parking lot ready to relax with our race friends, only to be greeted with the biggest Latina party in the parking lot. Most of us have children and needed a safe family oriented environment and instead all of that there were all the picking season workers in the parking lot, mexican music blaring, they all had beer, women, motel room doors open... it was party central. Keep in mind this motel is not that spacious either. Pool is also filled in with concrete. Bathroom inside the checkin office was disgusting. We were also told as racers we would have plenty of good parking for our (very expensive) race boats. Naw, what a joke. We were told to park our extra stuff behind the motel in a darkened funeral home parking lot. Um .... all around NO GO. When we cancelled and asked for refund we offered to still pay for that very night (bc it was out of the 24hr cancel period) but no charges for future nights. The rude lady didn't want to do that without a big argument. Then as she finally agreed she told us "you no come back, I don't want your service ever again " Wow. Don't worry. 😂 We won't be back. If I could give this a negative in...
Read moreOnly hotel in Sneads, Fl. Basic cable. No pool. Some people seem to be living there. We forgot to bring our coffee pot from home. We usually bring our own when we travel as some hotels don't have them. The pot in our room had dried coffee rings in the bottom along with a crusty bug. The reservoir had visible build up in the bottom. The lip was broken. My husband used it anyway; ugh! His coffee got cold, so he went to heat it up in the microwave. He opened the microwave and there was a piece of fried chicken along with tater logs on the microwave plate. With some hesitation, I opened the refrigerator. There was an open pepsi can and a soda cup half full. The table had visible sticky spots. The A/C did get cold. The bed was comfortable enough. The pillows were thin and lumpy. They felt half full of foam pieces. We only stay here because it is close to the lake where we fish...
