Great hotel (clean and reasonably priced). Stayed for one evening (due to a long drive returning home from a vacation), during winter. Staff was not pleasant, but wasn't going to make a huge deal over it since I was just staying for an evening.
When I left, unfortunately i left my jacket in the room (100% my fault). Received a call from the front end staff informing me that I had left my jacket. I asked what my options were (few states away from the hotel), she informed me that they could ship the jacket and charge my card. I said that sounded fair and was asking if she knew how much shipping the jacket would cost, she informed me that they were not a shipping company and that they're a hotel.
I replied that I understand that, guess it doesn't really happen often and asked what shipping company would be used to ship the jacket so that I could find the rates online. She informed me that she had no idea what shipping company that she would use, that her general manager makes a trip to a shipping company on Tuesdays. At that point I wouldn't have known what shipping company would be used to find out what the price would be to ship the jacket back to me. I told her that I would call her back to figure out what I wanted to do with the jacket and she informed me again that they were a hotel and not a shipping company... guess I needed to hear it again.
Looked around for shipping companies near the hotel and found a few that varied in price. Was just amused that the hotel has a process of mailing products left behind by customers, however didn't know what carrier was used or an estimate of a flat rate for shipping in their area. After searching around at random shipping companies, I determined that it wasn't worth getting my card charged a random price to have the jacket shipped back to me. Called the rep back and informed her to just donate the jacket.
Again, great hotel. Was just hopping for a little extra assistance for the not so busy front end (during the winter months) to at least know what carrier was used for me to do my own research. Totally my fault for leaving my jacket, just voicing my experience with the customer facing staff. Hotel...
Read moreWe stayed here after driving for 12 hours and needed a place to stay the night since we were tired. I first stopped in Fredericksburg and tried to say at the same place we stayed in at the beginning of our 12 day road trip. Unfortunately, it and several other highly-rated hotels were all full on that exit, so I was sent to this one since they had availability. The reviews were good, so I figured it would be worth the price, although that price was still $50 more than the better hotel just up the road in Fredericksburg. Unfortunately, the hotel is pretty run down and not worth the money. It was like they tried to update the hotel and then gave up after updating the beds and bathroom fixtures. The carpet is incredibly threadbare (see pic), there's all kinds of mysterious stains on the carpet, the room smelled musty and no amount of air freshener or running the A/C helped, the faucet didn't actually fit properly, so splashed water kept dripping down to the wooden bottom of the vanity through a hole, the fridge didn't even cool, and the hairdryer sounded like it was dying and the high was the same speed as the dying low setting, so it was useless for drying hair. I wasn't even chancing walking around the room without flip-flops on, it was that questionable. I'm not high-maintenance in any way, but I expect clean and this room just made me feel dirty. If the floors looked that disgusting and things aren't working, then how can I trust that they are following COVID protocols and actually cleaning the fixtures and other high-touch surfaces? The beds were hard, but pillows were soft. When I pulled the sheets back, the sheets weren't exactly on the bed in a way that made it look like they hadn't been slept in, so I'm still questioning that as well - sheets shouldn't look rumpled in a just-made bed...
If you have a choice, keep driving to Fredericksburg and stay at one of their 4+ star review hotels. If they made updates, this hotel would be worthy of the price and high reviews, but it's no better than the cheap $30/night hotel I stayed in back when I was a broke college student in FL for vacation...
Read morePlease like & share our reviews! ^^ We have travel rewards though work and sometimes will stay at a BW. We are pretty reluctant to choose BW because they are so hit or miss. This BW was the best we have ever stayed at. It was comparable to a Hilton Hotel. The beds were comfy, STEAMING hot showers, Each room has all of the amenities and the mini fridges are not "mini". There is 24 hr lobby coffee, indoor pool, fitness.... the entry way is just beautiful. There is sooooo much parking here. In walking distance is a Taco Bell, McDonald's and a Dairy Queen. There are also several gas stations. It is insanely quiet. The breakfast is nice and has some hot food options, cold food and fresh fruit. The cappucino/latte and juice machines were the highlight to our morning. Our kids were enamored with the pancake machine. They have SUGAR FREE SYRUP available. There are a couple of high chairs at the breakfast lounge as well. We casually chatted with the staff. They were unaware that we would be posting a review. We asked if the building was new or newly remodeled. The building is 7 years old and we were informed that they would be upgrading the rooms to replace the carpet. When joking about wishing the rooms had the fancy cappucino machine in the room, the breakfast manager shared that soon they will be putting in kpod coffee makers in the rooms. All this information which was volunteered to us shows that the hotel management really keeps the employees informed about the establishment. We loved this hotel so much that we returned 2 nights later on our way home. We stayed on the 3rd floor and then on the 5th floor. Both were...
