This is a local, family owned place that has consistently provided good sized portions of delicious authentic Mexican meals, and delicious authentic drinks and beers for reasonable prices for years. But unlike other places, the food has gotten BETTER over time and the gringos y la gente building the Kalahari are keeping this place busy! Thanks to the support of us locals, staff told me that we helped them survive Covid19 and they have expanded and can now serve larger groups inside or on the patio. I hope they never change because whether I'm doing takeout for an easy dinner at home, or stopping in to enjoy the colorful atmosphere, I've never had a bad meal there and the flavors just keep getting better. Our favorites are anything with their homemade chorizo- especially grilled chicken, carne asada, mariscos, and their fajitas and carnitas are excellent. The combo platters are also very good but maybe a little less flavorful. Just remember that if you order bland gringo stuff, you gonna get bland gringo stuff and you should never complain about "too much flavor" or "boo hoo it had spices" at a place like Poco Loco. You want bland? There's a Taco Bell for you literally at the next intersection. This is the best Tex Mex style option for 40 miles, and because it's a family owned local place, we will support them first. I DO wish they had a hotter salsa, maybe a roasted pepper variety, but at least they don't have that nasty white sweet ranch mayonnaise stuff that the gringos eat in Virginia, YUK! Highly...

Awful. If you want to waste 50 bucks on lunch for 2 people this is the spot. The CHEESE ENCHILADAS literally are the worst thing I have ever eaten. The tostada with NOT BE CRISPY and the pulled chicken will be bland as all hell. The shrimp tacos are not to bad a solid 7. The best part of the meal is the bean dip they bring to start you off. The table next to us got some MONSTER MARGARITAS that looked delicious so maybe if I ever DRAG MYSELF back into this restaurant I would only come to have a drink…… Save yourself and just DONT GO HERE. Stick to uncle Julio’s or Hectors. I promise you will be disappointed. The messed up part is when we told the server how bad it was we didn’t even have to finish our sentence cause she already knew how bad it was. Didn’t help or encourage her to take it off our check. Nor did we ask. I just think is ridiculous that you would let us order something awful know it’s awful and know what we didn’t like and yet still let us pay for trash. I have bartended and served for years and I guess some of us have more consideration then others. A little heads up would have been great! Thanks for a expensive awful lunch poco loco….. Won’t be...

Local Mexican restaurant fare reasonably priced for the large portions. Located in an old remodeled house. Place is very clean and the staff attentive. The chipotle BBQ fajitas were great and I ended up taking half of it home. The tomatillo enchiladas were also very good. Neither one of these entrees do you see on other restaurant menus. The chips were good but the salsa and warm bean dip served with them were bland at best. We will be returning to try other "not seen before" entree's.

*Note this review was completed without using ridiculous undiscriptive terms like OMG, awesome, yummy, delish, to die for, do your self a favor, trust me, etc.. Describe the food, service (or lack of) and provide details on the cost/copy of check and include pictures! Is the place clean? No one cares about the waiter/waitress names, their abilities, or if they look like they fell face first into a tackle box. They get changed like underwear and you don't get to pick one. No we don't care about your allergies or the need for...

Hidden Gem Alert!!  Great Mexican Food ...Thornburg Virginia. A half mile off I-95. While traveling back to Dublin, I was in Virginia and wanted some real food, not fast food and the highway sign listed Poco Loco nearby. Jose and Julio, waitstaff/servers/ good folks-- assisted me in deciding on highway appropriate options, meaning it wouldn't necessarily cause a mess due to vagaries of traffic on I-95. So I opted for the Chicken Taquitos..can you say meaty? Perfectly suited finger food for my journey.  Served on a bed of lettuce with sour cream and queso fresco. Scrumptious. Seriously. I also ordered Pechuga de Pollo which was a butterflied grilled chicken breast.  Served with rice, sour cream, guacamole, and mixed salad on top. Topped with chile con queso.  (I had my toppings on the side.) It was delicious and I didn't waste anything!  It was Great. Thank you Chef Miguel. Everything was presented well, totally fresh and the customer service was outstanding.  If you happen to be in the area please stop by.
