Let me start by saying that The Harvest Inn has a special place in our hearts. We were married at the hotel during harvest season in 2011, have returned 3 additional times since then, and just spent a weekend at the hotel to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. This past visit convinced us The Harvest Inn ONLY cares about is weddings and their guests and quality is nowhere near commensurate with the prices they are charging.
We paid $1300/night and our stay was a HUGE disappointment. $4000 + later, we are angered by the overall experience and will not be recommending or returning. Even after reaching out multiple times to remedy our issues, no one was able to do anything nor did they seem to care.
First, we checked into our room and were given a vineyard view room that was on the second floor. We asked specifically for a 1st floor room that was in the 300 section. Neither was provided. The room we did get looked like a Super 8 with a nice fireplace. These beautiful cottages are a mere husk filled with bargain bin IKEA furniture that forces a square peg of modern aesthetic into a round hole of rustic beauty that's made Napa famous.
After dinner that evening at the Harvest Table, I went to the front desk and guest services apologized and said they would move us to the 300 block of rooms the next morning if we packed all of our stuff up and had it waiting by the front door. Yes, this was a hassle for us, but to get a room to meet our expectations (and the huge sticker price) we were willing to do so.
The next day, we were transferred rooms. However, were notified that the room was just one story directly below the one we had and it did not have a working firepit or fireplace. When we went into our 'new' room, the robes provided had pink lipstick and makeup on them… they were dirty. There were wine rings on the counters, it was am ADA accessible room with no tub or regular shower, and the hotel room seemed dirty. We were furious and disappointed. We called and no one answered. So my husband went to the front desk. There was nothing they could or would do, saying the 300-level cottages were all reserved for wedding guests.
Let's recap: We were provided a glossed up Super 8 motel room on night 1 and a remodeled and much larger with patio, yet dirty and non-working room on night 2. How on earth could they be charging us the same thing? How does this room cost the same as a suite in the 300 block that we have stayed in and KNOW are nicer? We feel slighted and ripped off.
Three weddings that weekend- Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, took precedent over us. Returning guests there for a romantic and special weekend to celebrate our 10 year anniversary at a place we got married… and had spent $85K at....
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE!!! If I could give NO STARS, I would. My wife and I had a terrific weekend in Napa last weekend (really only had one day) bur stayed at Harvest Inn on Saturday night. First thing I would note is that if this property where anywhere but Napa you wouldn't expect to pay more than $89/nt (maybe $120 for a room with a hot tub). Not the $785 that we paid. I understand that some would call it quaint but I would call it dated! The lodge is OK but "wine bar" is inadequate compared to what is available in the area.
So for the price, since you don't get great physical amenities you would think they would make it up in service. Not at all!! Firstly, they advertise an available driver into St. Helena . We tried to schedule a ride for dinner that night and they told us that they only the one driver and that he was booked for the whole evening so don't expect that convenience.
The biggest issue was that at 4:00am, a loud alarm (not fire alarm) started sounding near our room and woke my wife and me. We waited for 20 minutes and then called the front desk and asked to have someone check on it. The woman at the front desk told me that she was the only person working but that she would check on it (I will avoid a discussion about an alleged "high-end" facility having only one person on staff for that number units). We waited 40 minutes and the alarm did not stop. I finally left our room and searched for the source. It ended up being and overheating alarm in a mechanical room next to the back of our unit. I called the front desk and told her. She said she had walked over by our unit and didn't hear anything (which meant that she hadn't been there). I told her that I had located the source and then she met me at the mechanical room and was finally able to shut off the alarm. It was 5:30am at this point.
The worst part is that I mentioned it when I checked out and the person at the desk said that there was not note of the incident but that she would inform the Manager (Kevin) and have him call me. It has now been a week and I've left 3 messages for Kevin and have not received a return call. Unacceptable! I travel quite a bit and have had better service at low end motels in small towns than we...
Read moreMy experience at this “one of the top rated Napa” by Condé Nast Hotel. Not sure who made that list but our experience was disappointing. Nightly rate $600 USD. No one to greet you upon arrival, the service at check-in was no better than you would get at a Courtyard Marriott-friendly but nothing special for this price point. Room was clean but could use some updating. Bathroom was a waste of space; plenty of floor space yet only one vanity. Did I mention it’s $600 a night. In addition, we were told at check in that there is two bottles of water, one bottle of orange juice (not sure what you do if there is two of you wanting juice) and a “bottle” of wine. Well there was no wine in the room so I called up to the front desk to let them know and I was told a “bottle” of wine would be sent up.
The “bottle” was Whitehall and it was enough to maybe get two glasses out it. This probably cost the hotel $5 to buy...maybe nothing...done as marketing. To put this into context, a 750ML of the same Whitehall wine that gives you six servings is $30.
Harvest Table for breakfast was a disappointment. It was a buffet and worst part about it was a terrible buffet.
Went to ck our after three night. When I booked via their website you get a $40 credit toward the restaurant. Well we decided to use that for the buffet but were told you can only use it for lunch or dinner; of course...you spend much more during those time. How trivial for a “4 Star” establishment.
We come to Napa at once least once a year; we got married here. We had driven by the Harvest Inn many times and thought to try it out...i was expecting an amazing...
