The Harvest Table: Our expectations were not met whatsoever compared to what the Harvest Table used to be and provide. We had dinner and breakfast at the Harvest Table during our 3 night stay. For dinner, the fixed menu was $60 per person and $22 for wine pairing. As I will explain in detail following this statement, dinner was a HUGE disappointment considering we paid over $450 with tip after additions. Overall, it seemed as though the food was based on whatever was being served at the wedding on site that night. We were the 'leftovers'. Overall, the food was not fresh and of poor quality. To start, the soup was cold. We actually googled to see if that type of soup was supposed to be served cold. It wasn't. The salad was just greens with a few toppings with some vinaigrette. Nothing special. For the main course, the halibut was served with a sauce that masked the 'fishy' and not fresh taste. The steak was not a good cut and was served medium with fat around the edges. Not palatable. Potatoes and veggies included with both dishes were cold and hard. Applebee's could have provided better, which says a lot. The wine that was served seemed as though it had been sitting in a bottle and oxidized past its prime. I had to turn it away and ask for a new bottle of something comparable to be opened. How does this happen in NAPA!? Our waiter was the only thing that made us provide a tip. He was so sweet and nice and it seemed as though he had no say in any of the food or wine. He simply served what he was given by the kitchen and bar.
Breakfast- We ate breakfast at the harvest table after our second night. Our expectations after dealing with the shortcomings of the hotel overall were extremely low, so we left ample time. However, everything took 2 x as long as it should have and was comparable to Denny's. Awful.
How is The Harvest Inn still considered a 5 star hotel that will go above and beyond for...
Read moreWish I could rate zero stars. Absolute worst experience. Ordered a bottle of wine which also happened to be poured by the glass. We kept it on the table for a bit then asked the sommelier for it to be chilled. He put it on ice, and then forgot about us the rest of the evening. We then asked our server for more wine and told him we had it on ice. We were then brought over an almost full bottle of wine, clearly not ours, and neither the sommelier or the server had a clue. The food was underwhelming and service lackadaisical. As we are leaving we waited out front for 20 minutes for the valet who was no where to be found and all keys left unattended; we actually retrieved our own keys. Too bad we didn’t know where our car was and had to wait another 10 minutes to find someone to help us and they had no clue where our car was either!!! The female manager/front desk agent was rude and nonchalant that we had to wait nearly 30 minutes for our car. No sincerity at all and just an extremely disappointing experience. Will NEVER be back and recommending NOT to go for friends visiting the area. STAY AWAY!
To update- we did speak with the manager, Sean, and his excuse was the lack of employees due to cost of living in the valley and the inadequate pay! Although I am sympathetic to this issue, that burden should never come down on the customers!! We are there spending our money to support the business. If the business cannot afford to have properly trained staff they should think...
Read moreDON’T ORDER SPRING RISOTTO!!! (Unless you no longer have teeth, taste buds, and a big appetite!)
Nice place, good service, but the food that I had was ridiculously overpriced with nothing much in it!
I ordered the Spring Risotto, and I am giving it zero star. Menu description said it has english pea, short rib and charred onion bouillon. I was expecting at least a couple of big chunks of tender short ribs on top of the risotto. What I got on my plate was about 1/4 cup of risotto with spring onion strips on top. Where’s the beef????? I found 3 very small disintegrating pieces of meat underneath, the biggest piece of which was less than a square inch wide, about 1-1/2 cm thin! The other two meat particles were even smaller and thinner! And I am not exaggerating. $22 for all that! I’ve been to several high-end restaurants, but this is the most ridiculously rip-off dish I’ve ever had!
My only consolation... i liked the grape-seed oil dip that they serve with the bread and the good service of the waiters/waitresses, so I’m giving them four...
