I had the wedding of my dreams at the Chocksett Inn. Physically, they have the most classic New England infrastructure in their beautiful hall, all black and white, with crown molding, fire place, massive golden chandeliers in the reception space. You can really make it your own, it is the most beautiful, neutral, classically elegant venue I looked at. But more than that, what I felt made the experience really priceless, was the service. First of all, Tianna made me feel the most like a bride than anyone I interacted with during the entire wedding planning process, including my family and my husband. Anything I wanted, not only possible, she made me feel like it was a totally reasonable request and sounded absolutely gorgeous. She made me feel so sure of myself and like the most beautiful day of my life was her greatest priority. When the day came, and I quickly learned that that kindness extended to the entire staff. I was practically pampered during our wedding party photos during cocktail hour, with catered appetizers and cocktails in the area we were taking photos. The wait staffer working with us kept leaving her cart to come up to me PERSONALLY (obviously I'm in every photo) asking can she bring me a drink? Can she bring me a plate? And I thought that was the most considerate thing, but I was wrong! During the reception a friend of mine brought sneakers down from my room for me but forgot socks, and wait staff came up to me, completely out of the blue, and asked "Do you need anything?" I actually said "um...I need socks". I insisted I would just take off my heels and run barefoot but she assured me she would retrieve some socks for me; what room was I in? Where was my bag? And DID I HAVE A COLOR PREFERENCE?? I'm telling you in all my life, in all the people I encountered in my short career as a bride, I never felt more taken care of. We used family heirloom champagne glasses; they were cleaned and waiting in our room after the reception. Leftover entrees, desserts, and champagne were waiting in our room at the end of the night. It just felt like a dream that never ended. I don't think I could have found a venue I visually liked more, it was so gorgeous, very my style, and with the option to do it inside or outside we really got the best of both worlds (they have a beautiful gazebo, see the background of our outdoor pictures). But I KNOW I could not have treated with more respect, sincerity, and compassion at any other venue. My wedding day was the best day of my life BECAUSE OF TIANNA AND HER INCREDIBLE TEAM!!! (Also, best wedding food of all time. Wedding food is stereotypically subpar; Chocksett is genuinely so tasty, all of our guests agreed)

We are just coming down from the high of our daughter and her newly-wedded wife’s wedding weekend hosted at the Chocksett Inn in Sterling, MA, and let me just say - WOW! Our daughter and her fiancé got engaged in December of 2022. We started thinking about wedding venues soon thereafter. The girls had specific criteria for a venue: lodging, getting ready, outdoor ceremony and reception all onsite but not a hotel; not a barn setting; only hosting one wedding per day; and within 1 hour driving distance for most guests. We went onto Wedding Wire and the Knot and entered our criteria, and the Chocksett Inn popped up. Having lived in Central Mass for a period, we were surprised we had never heard of it. Made an appointment to visit in January of 2023, and we met with the sales/function coordinator, Tianna, for a tour. My daughter bursting into tears the second she walked into the foyer of the ballroom, and stating “It’s so beautiful,” was all I needed to see! Give me the contract to sign! We were sold right then and there! We never had to look at another venue – this was the easiest decision in the entire wedding planning process! Fast forward almost two years to their wedding weekend, (and 2 wedding tastings, and multiple personal repeat tours) and I just can’t say enough accolades about the Chocksett Inn! Warm and welcoming front desk at check-in; clean, comfortable, large and updated guest rooms including 2 bridal suites to choose from along with a getting ready conference room and separate sitting room; delicious onsite restaurant for dinner and after party; GORGEOUS foyer for cocktail hour, and spacious ballroom for reception dinner and dancing (with amazing food!), and beautifully landscaped grounds and garden gazebo to host the ceremony and make the perfect backdrop for photos! And while every staff member we interacted with was amazing (shout out to Mick and Paula, two of our bartenders), Tianna knocked it out of the park. She truly is the Inn’s greatest asset – her communication, attention to detail, and day of service were nothing short of exceptional! Every detail was meticulously taken care of! Never once did we feel second to any other couple who also needed her undivided attention. We flooded her with questions right up until ceremony time, and she came through with answers/solutions/ideas each time! She assured us we didn’t need our own day of coordinator, and boy, did she deliver on that promise! We came to the Chocksett Inn as strangers and left with a new family! Chocksett will forever be one of our happy places! We are so sad it’s over!

It looks like a nice place upon arrival, but after that it all changes. Made our reservations months ago to attend a wedding that thankfully was not there. Was told you receive better pricing if you book online, as "ALL ROOMS" except for suites are the same...WRONG! From the moment we checked in for a 2-night stay, our keys did not work. The lock system is not hard to figure out, but I was told more than once that I was doing it wrong and to keep my keys away from anything magnetic. I assured them (being a former hotelier) that I knew what I was doing and emphasized that the key's that were put in my key holder at check-in did not work when I removed them from the key holder a few minutes later. I suggested that maybe the lock should be checked, but I was told there was nothing wrong with the lock. So, from Thursday afternoon, until Saturday morning, I had to go to the front desk at least 5 different times to get my keys remade.||||Now, I realize rooms are not always the same in size, but you would think that the amenities would be the same, but NOT HERE! When I called the front desk and asked where the refrigerator was in my room, I was told that all "04" rooms do not have refrigerators because they're near the elevator...REALLY? So, what should I do with my beverages and fruit that I’d like to keep cool...you can bring them downstairs and put them in the lobby refrigerator and then get them as you need them. Mind you the rates at this inn are not cheap and I'm being charged an average $182 a night (rates are higher on Friday & Saturday, which I understand). Everyone else in my family had nice sized rooms, with refrigerators, microwaves, etc., so no matter what, I had to travel to another location to keep my items cold. I also mentioned that 1 of the 3 lamps in the room didn't work and they said that it would be checked, but it never was...and I'm not just talking about a bulb, the outlet at the base of the lamp for plugging in a laptop or phone charger also didn't work.||||As mentioned in another a previous guest review, the TV is in a terrible location for watching from the sofa or the bed, the coffee maker is a joke only allowing for 1 cup of coffee, but you can buy coffee in the lobby for $2; and when we went to use the bathroom, our room was missing facial tissue (empty box) and toilet paper...and the toilet howls after flushing, which is quite annoying. It reminded me of the “Botox Guy Laugh”, from the movie “Just Go with It”. But, never fear, because if you want anything during your stay, you just have to go to the lobby to get it, as they only do room cleaning for long term stays of a week or more. I spent so much time at the front desk, I felt like I worked there! This inn is not customer-service oriented; this inn capitalizes on having a wedding venue. It also lists itself as a B&B, but breakfast doesn’t exist. ||||I brought all of my complaints to the front desk and expected some form of compensation for my many inconveniences, but I was told the only person who can help me is the Manager, but she's not here. The person did make a list of my complaints and said they were sorry to hear this and will pass it along to the Manager. I do not think anything will come of it, so all I can say is, be aware, this is what you get for paying $400. You get more at a Hampton Inn...
