Stayed in the "King Suite" for 3 nights with my father. Just got back home today at the time of writing this. Apologies for lacking images; I was rather exhausted during the entire stay and didn't have the energy or forethought to snap photos. My exhaustion was not relevant to the La Quinta hotel, for the record.||Here's a list of some problems and flaws that were encountered during our stay:||-Window provided a wonderful view of the dumpster! Money well spent!|-Tiny room; foot of the pull-out bed was extremely close to the king bed. Had to move the nightstand to fold it out. The King Suite is JUST a bigger singular bed, and a pull out sofa bed. That's it. You're paying extra for a worse room. It was $250/night, by the way.|-No bedding included for the pull-out bed. Had to ask the receptionist for the necessary bedding, otherwise I would have been stuck with a bare mattress.|-Shower is installed in such a way that requires one to fully get into the shower in order to turn on the shower head, and the water is cold at first. Really stupid design.|-Closet door was rather difficult to close. It kept coming off its rails, as it was extremely cheaply constructed.|-Receptionists are overworked. They basically have to do everything, including preparing the complimentary breakfast every morning. Yeah, they have to cook our food, too! Saturday morning's complimentary breakfast began late, so the starting time isn't consistent.|-Housekeeping is only provided if you ask for it at the front desk the day BEFORE. Nobody told us this; we learned from reading about it in the elevator, which was in rather small print. When we discussed this with the receptionist the morning before our final night there, they offered to have housekeeping come by since we were never properly informed. We got back to the hotel about 14 hours later. Beds weren't made, all of the dirty towels were still there, no fresh towels, trash wasn't removed from the trash can. We were promised some degree of housekeeping, and someone dropped the ball.|-According to my father, the coffee was terrible. Had coffee grains in it, too.|-A little while before we checked out, I asked the receptionist for a laundry bag. A simple thing that we KNEW the hotel had; one was already in our room, after all. He rather awkwardly stated that they don't have any laundry bags, while giving me a blank stare. Sure, maybe they ran out, but he didn't say that, did he? He didn't offer to check, nothing. Just... implied that laundry bags aren't a thing the hotel provides, which would be a complete lie.||Now, on to the good things!||-Receptionists are friendly and quite willing to help(mostly).|-Includes mini fridge and a microwave under the TV. They sell frozen dinners(Banquet, of all things) and ice cream in the lobby, so they're likely included in standard rooms as well.|-Complimentary breakfast available every day from 6am to 9am. Decent options overall. Nothing stellar, but nothing offensive, either. Definitely not the worst thing about the hotel.||To put it simply, La Quinta is pretty awful, or at least the King Suite certainly is. It's not worth $250/night(to be fair, the price was elevated due to an ongoing event nearby; all the hotels in the area jacked up their prices) Is it the worst hotel I've ever stayed at? No, not at all, but that doesn't make it good. My father said it best: "This hotel is a pig wearing lipstick."||If you HAVE to stay here, I understand. Sometimes we don't have better options, or can't afford them, and even with all of its egregious flaws, La Quinta could still be worse. At the VERY least, avoid the "King Suite." It's a complete waste of money.||Shout out to the receptionists, by the way. They did the best they possibly could, and were quite pleasant to interact with! ...Except for...
Read moreWe stay here approximately twice a year when we visit the area. we have come for the last 6 years since it balanced a good location, nice rooms, and a decent price. However, this last stay from this prior weekend, will have us staying somewhere else on our next trip. there are too many new hotels within a half mile. the room itself was fine (king executive). however, the wiring makes no sense. there is a switch by the front door, but no light. so as soon as you enter the room, you are in the dark. seems odd when trying to put a coat in the closet. there was on light on the wall which had a blown bulb. otherwise you have two lamps, the room seemed dim. the lamps have plugs to charge a phone. however, it did not give enough current to charge my phone (samsung 9). the bathroom was bad. on the surface it looks nice, except that it looks like whoever put in the flooring did not clean up after themselves. there was white powdery residue all over the floor and baseboards. some i could wipe up with a towel, some was part of the floor. i put down a towel to walk on since i did not want me on my infant walking on this unknown substance. further, the shower stall (no tub) has two heads both facing the center. a bit odd. but, the stall had lots of mold, on the door track, the floor, walls, and ceiling. also, the drain cover was loose and my wife nearly fell in the shower when she stepped on it and it slid. the drain was moldy a gross and was quite a deep hole that someone could have gotten hurt. we would have to be extremely careful when my infant got bathed. a safety hazard. in addition, my wife ran out of hot water several minutes into her shower. she address the front desk attendant, who could not have cared less. the head of housekeeping stopped by the room to try and clean some of the mold. she admitted that other showers had the same problem. a previous guest broke a toe falling on the loose drain. so, the hotel knew this was an issue and did not fix it, warn us about it, just let it go. after the housekeeper, left, the mold improved some, but the remainder of the "mess" described previously remained. the manager came by at 11pm and he at least apologized and glued the drain cover down. the carpets in the hallway could use a cleaning as there were many visible stains. on checkout, no apology and nothing given to us in exchange for our...
Read moreWhat a disappointing stay. Two star because the room was clean. I booked this hotel since we just needed a quick rest and then keep driving early in the morning and this hotel had good reviews. Breakfast was a top priority since we did not want to waste any time in the morning looking for breakfast place so we paid extra to have breakfast in the hotel. When we checked in the front desk person told us there is no breakfast per se but we will receive a snack bag starting 6am. It was disappointing but at least it would be some snack until we stop for a breakfast when some places will open. When we went downstairs 6am there was noone upfront just a paper with a phone number. We called the number and Michael K. answered. He informed that noone will be coming to the front desk until 7am. He also told us that there will be no snack/breakfast bags before 7am. I tried to explain him that the person who checked us in said the breakfast is at 6am and we planned to leave right after so my kids will have something to eat since not many places are open that early. And his answer was "you can complain all you want". While we were in the lobby another customer came downstairs complaining that WIFI was not working. Since coffee maker in the room was not working we wanted to get at least coffee downstairs and the coffee was cold. So to summarize the hotel saves money to add to their profits by not having front desk staffed properly (noone at the front desk and the information give by staff contradicted the precious one, both employees did not show that they care at least a little which is surprising), not providing breakfast like they describe on their website, an alarm clock and a coffee machine in the room were broken and to top it off they are the first hotel to charge us a pet fee for a very small dog (we stayed in various hotels with the dog and have never been charged). This hotel uses COVID excuse to beef up their bottom line while they don't serve their customers well and nickle and dime their customers at the same time. The excuse of COVID is convenient but doesn't hold. We stayed in many hotels in 2020 and 2021 while COVID was happening and were served very good by these hotels including hot breakfast in some of them (of course they used all the proper precautions). So La Quinta is not on my list of the hotels to stay...
