Not sure how this place has such good reviews. Old, dingy, run down motel from the 70’s.
The bad: The bathroom is clean, but the shower head was crusted with hard water and had so little pressure that I had to point the shower head as far up as possible to get the water to fall anywhere away from the wall. Took much longer than anticipated to rinse soap and shampoo. It was really disappointing after a long day at work and being displaced from my home for a bit. The bathrooms are the only part they have put any money into, and not much. Furniture was from grandmas attic. Old and busted. Lighting from great aunt Edna’s house has got to be a fire hazard at this point. The bed was a box of springs, which I expected, but was a downer. The sheet on the bed wasn’t fitted, which I found odd; it was a tucked in flat sheet. And the comforter was a thin plasticy thing from the 70’s. But they usually are, so I’ll let that go. Can easily hear the folks next door doing what I can only assume is construction in their room. One person over there was coughing up a lung at all hours of the night, so I can only assume they are here on COVID quarantine. Cool. No smoking room, but you can apparently smoke immediately outside your room, and therefore, make all rooms near you smell of smoke. Less then desirable. Guy at the front desk seems dead inside. Not very welcoming. The pics of this place must be decades old, because they look much nicer than the place looks now.

Read moreWe were in Sturbridge in June 2025 for a friend’s wedding, and we reserved a two-night stay at the Scottish Inns. We could not have been more displeased with our choice. The room that we were originally assigned had multiple cleanliness issues in the bathroom, including staining on the toilet seat and bowl, and dirt in the sink. We asked for a change and were given another room that was equally deficient in quality. There was staining, hair, and unidentifiable particulate matter all over the sheets, we found hair in the shower, and the door’s chain lock was missing. The front desk staff was unhelpful and lacked communication skills; when we complained about this second room, we were ignored, and when we called to ask how late reception would be open, the attendant could not understand our clearly worded question. Our best decision of the weekend was to drive for two hours after the wedding reception and arrive back home at 1:30 AM rather than sleep in that room. With several other affordable establishments available in Sturbridge, there is no good reason to stay at the...
Read moreA surprise indeed. Other Scottish Inns I've seen are old, worn out and dated. This Inn is also old but had been updated recently. The room was fairly large, had two wingback chairs, a rolling desk chair, a desk, coffee table, two full size beds, a big motel sized refrigerator, a microwave, nice size flat TV, good room lighting, and a well appointed bathroom. The carpet was very clean. The bathroom was also exceptionally clean. The beds were too hard for me, but many might appreciate it. I could feel the springs through the mattress, and that was just too hard for me. And the shower was very clean and nice and hot with lots of water.||I would definitely recommend somebody stay here for an overnight on the...
