I lived at this hotel for a year. I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone. They are working hard renovating the rooms. There are good points and bad.
Good Very nice and friendly owner. Good service, nice employees and guests who live there. Nice environment. You can often see deer at night. Clean, comfortable rooms. Pet friendly. Very quiet at night. The Mexicans can get loud on the weekends. Prices are very reasonable. They stay on top of the roach problem that so many hotels have. They spray rooms monthly.
Bad You can hear through the walls, Including the rooms above and behind you several rooms down. There is always a dog barking. Usually quiet at night. The laundry room (1 washer, 2 dryers) are upstairs so are unavailable for anyone wheelchair bound or unable to climb stairs. They only take quarters, no cards $2 each. For some reason people are allowed to let their dogs run around off leash (there is a leash law). This causes problems for people scared of dogs or with dogs that are not friendly. I had a dog run up to mine and if I didn't have 2 other people to help my dog would have attacked the one off leash and it would not have been my dogs fault as he was on 2 leashes EVERYTIME we went out. They don't give you notice that they are coming to spray. They just show up and expect you to be ready. Read moreThe Nest Hotel Suffolk is the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. It turned out to be a dimly lit, dirty motel with no visible nighttime signage. The property was filthy, with chipped paint, rusty metal rails, and bugs crawling on the exterior sidewalks.
The front desk employee was rude and unprofessional, making me feel like an inconvenience. My room’s connecting door was missing a handle, leaving an empty hole for anyone next door to peek through. I found three German cockroaches upon entering my room and killed several more within minutes. It was clear the property was infested, making it impossible for me to stay.
When I reported the issue and showed pictures to the clerk, she apologized and assured me her manager would process a refund. Despite numerous attempts to contact the manager, I never received a response. After ten days, I was told they had a no-refund policy, and my request was closed.

They NEVER indicated that the hotel was under construction either. We had 2 rooms, and checked out early due to my family’s military orders changing. We were refunded the pet fee and told that the refund for the remaining 2 nights for both rooms would be refunded with the finalized invoice being sent to my email. That NEVER happened, and now the front desk personnel REFUSE to let me speak with management or have someone contact me.
