Let me set the scene: a bloated opossum corpse, heat waves shimmering off its furry, decaying body like it’s starring in its own Sundance short film, and me gagging in my backyard, contemplating whether bleach can be safely snorted. Enter: Peanut City Candle Co’s Spooky Halloween "Gourd" Soy Wax Candle. A literal beacon of hope, and possibly the reason I didn’t have to call animal control or a local priest. I lit this little matte black miracle thinking, ā€œWell, at least if I die from asphyxiation, it’ll smell like fall.ā€ But lo and behold, within minutes, the air transformed from ā€œWelcome to Rotting Flesh Ridgeā€ to ā€œCozy Suburban Witch Harvests Her Own Cinnamon.ā€ The scent? A seductive blend of pumpkin, clove, smoke, vanilla, and just enough spice to mask the festering stench of nature’s ugliest marsupial checking out permanently under my tree. Not only did it annihilate the smell of flesh rot, it somehow made me feel festive while doing so. I went from dry-heaving in flip-flops to sipping cider in a cardigan. The opossum? Still dead. But the vibes? Immaculate. This candle doesn’t just mask odors. It murders them.

Peanut City Candle Company candles are the best candles I have ever used. They are clean burning and the scents are safe for children and pets. They don't give off dangerous chemicals while they burn. The scents are so unique and decadent. They even smell good just sitting on the counter when I am not burning them. They are worth every penny! These are the only candles I want to buy now.

Peanut City Candle CO’s product is SUPERIOR to every other candle in Hampton roads. Non-toxic wicks that don’t burn through your wax like cheap gasoline. High quality scents that are cured for months. Carrie’s attention to detail goes unmatched. If your candles are burning HOT and fast, they’re made with trash ingredients/materials. Try PCCC instead. You won’t be disappointed.

In the heart of Suffolk, Virginia—a city affectionately dubbed "Peanut City" due to its rich history in peanut cultivation—Peanut City Candle Co. emerges as a beacon of artisanal craftsmanship and environmental mindfulness. Founded with an unwavering commitment to purity and sustainability, this boutique candle maker has garnered attention for its meticulous approach to candle production.

At the core of Peanut City Candle Co.'s ethos is the use of 100% USA-grown soy wax. This choice not only supports domestic agriculture but also ensures a cleaner, longer-lasting burn compared to traditional paraffin alternatives. Complementing the wax are wicks crafted from natural materials, designed to minimize soot and enhance the overall burning experience. Each fragrance is thoughtfully selected, guaranteed to be phthalate-free and devoid of any harmful chemicals, reflecting the brand's dedication to consumer health and safety.

The brand's collaboration with BLACKENEDĀ® Whiskey has resulted in a candle that is as sophisticated as it is inviting. This signature scent unfolds in layers: top notes of dark fruits, clove, cinnamon, and honey give way to a heart of whiskey, caramel, oak, and allspice, anchored by base notes of maple. The complexity of this fragrance offers a sensory journey that is both comforting and evocative, making it a standout in their collection.

Peanut City Candle Co. maintains a dynamic presence in regional markets, allowing patrons to experience their products firsthand. Their 2025 market schedule includes appearances at venues such as the Downtown Waterfront Market in Elizabeth City, NC, and the Smithfield Farmers Market in Smithfield, VA. These events provide an intimate setting for customers to engage with the brand, fostering a community around a shared appreciation for quality and sustainability.

In an era where consumers are increasingly discerning about the origins and compositions of the products they bring into their homes, Peanut City Candle Co. stands out not just for the quality of their candles, but for the integrity and transparency embedded in their production processes. Their dedication to creating a healthier, more fragrant environment resonates with those who value both luxury and responsibility.

For connoisseurs of fine craftsmanship and eco-conscious living, Peanut City Candle Co. offers more than just a candle; they provide an experience that delights the senses while...

The BEST candle maker in Hampton Roads (we can fight over it but I know I’m right)! Carrie is truly an artist and her candles are works of art. The scents are clean, subtle, and do not overpower the room. The easily recyclable mason jars are on point, and her specialty vessels (yes, I said vessels because we are talking about ART here!) are gorgeous and bring the candle burning experience up to a whole new level. I initially started with one of the smaller mason jars and quickly became hooked. She and her staff are wonderful human beings and you cannot lose with any of her amazing...
