I never leave reviews however, I felt that I needed to with this visit. I booked this hotel for a family vacation. I read reviews to check that it met my family's needs and even called to get additional information. With my first call, the lady that answered the phones sounded very rushed and I felt that I couldn't ask my questions. I then proceeded to call back two more times in which I was responded with, I'm too busy, can I call you back. And then a gentleman who didn't have any answers. I should've trusted my gut with this poor service, but I didn't because I called back and did get in contact with Deb, who was an angel and answered my questions about the hotel. So I booked it. Upon arrival, I had pets as this was pet friendly. There was confusion on the hotel's end and had me in a non pet room. However, I felt that this was such an intrusion that they had to switch me rooms. They didn't seem happy at all. The owner was there and she looked so frustrated that I had pets. My family got to our rooms and and they were nice, but outdated. The pool was too cold, but the hot tub was very nice. ||My family stayed here for a few days. The owner and her family were always there as they were short staffed. And, due to the confusion from the first time I checked in with my pets, I felt that every interaction with the owner was very uncomfortable. I have never felt this way in any place that I have stayed. I have always traveled with my dogs and have never had any complaints. She even told me one day that my dogs were barking and she had to move a guest. That is interesting since I had a laundry room next to me and a storage room across from me and my family member to the other side of me. This was the creepiest stay as I felt watched and judged. And what is even funnier is that there was a dog down the hallway that barked non stop, but not a word said. I would not reccomend this place if you have pets. Lastly, the people who run and work for this company aren't very professional. The cleaning lady Melinda and Deb are great and if not for them, this place wouldn't be worth it. And, don't be a pet friendly hotel if you don't like pets. So many other hotels actually greet the guests pets like their guests. Professionalism and making your guests feel welcomed...

This is literally my first Google review, the hotel front desk staff was so bad that I'm carving the time out of my life to warn you.
I found a great deal through Expedia at this hotel. We were greeted by Collin and his immediately unpleasant demeanor at the front desk. Between his monotone voice and dismissive attitude, for a moment I thought we were in some kind of C rated comedy movie. I thought it was a joke at first. Later, we asked for a second blanket which was tossed at us. When we thanked him, no response.
But alas, the next morning came and there was a staff change. I was relieved as I engaged in a pleasant conversation with the gal. Then...when my boyfriend asked the name of the night desk help, it turned.
Not to be outdone by Collin's "stellar" customer service skills, the gal was extremely rude to my boyfriend. After defending Collin and insinuating that we were lying about his service, she transitioned to personal attacks on my boyfriend. She insisted she knew all about him because she was "in her 50's". We are in our 40's, not that that has anything to do with anything.
Woman you are 50 years old and still working the front desk at a motel, I'm sure you're the authority on all things and all people. 🙄
Anyway, this motel is NOT biker friendly (I'm assuming that was the issue by the lady's comments to my boyfriend) which you think it would be so close to Sturgis. We have ridden across the country and this is by far the rudest staff we have encountered. So bravo, Ramada at Summerset/Rapid City West, at least you're the best at something.

Read moreHad two bedbugs scramble across the bed shortly after checking into the room (19 Nov 2021). Killed them both, gathered up all our stuff in a panic because we didn't want to bring bedbugs home, and went to the desk to ask for a new room. The guy at the desk, the owner it turns out, just gave me a look like "so what do you want me to do about it?" got an attitude that we wanted to change rooms, said he "didn't want us to spread them to another room" but finally "let us" change rooms. WE inspected the new room ourselves, it seemed ok, but I slept terribly and dreamed that bedbugs built a nest in my hair.||||The next morning, the woman at the desk didn't believe us that there were bedbugs in our first room, told me she'd been in this business 40 years and there is no way they had bedbugs, and demanded to see the video evidence, which is attached to this review so you can believe it too. After seeing proof, she changed her tune and was nicer, but who cares? To find bedbugs and be treated like crap by the owner and manager? Pass.||||After I complained to hotels.com, where I booked it. Debb, the manager, told the hotels.com agent they could only "help us" make this right if I removed any negative reviews about the experience. I'm including the photo evidence of this as well. I hadn't posted any reviews yet, but that pathetic attempted bribe guaranteed that you're reading about the experience.||||Don't come here.||||I've never seen a bedbug before going to this place, now they may be in my stuff because bedbugs travel. The owner and manager are delusional and cruel....
