AmericInn by Wyndham Thief River Falls — Hotel in Thief River Falls

If you are looking for a hotel in the Thief River Falls area, Look no further this is the place to stay! The rooms are very spacious very clean and you have a wide selection of TV channels to watch when you are in your amazing hotel room. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I would like to acknowledge Colleen, She works up at the front desk area. I had to change my flight while I was visiting Minnesota for a personal emergency in California. I didn’t have to change my hotel reservations, but I had to change my flight and not visit other family members in Minnesota while I was doing that I had a hard time printing on the hotel computer and Colleen was very helpful. She could see by the look on my face and the tears on my eyes that something was going on, so I decided to share with her about My Husband being ill and having to go to the emergency room and that I was going to be flying back sooner and not going onto my other destinations. Colleen just listened so intently. It was like having a true friend there that I could share my heavy burden with and I Just so appreciate that. When you are more than 2000 miles from home, it was like having a good friend at the hotel that I could share my burden with and she listened and even when I was leaving, she told me that she would keep me in her thoughts and prayers you don’t find that every day! The other staff was just as friendly too, and Stacey who clean my room. Every day was a very sweet gal too. Honestly, I will always stay at this hotel whenever I am visiting Thief...

Went to this hotel to spend our Christmas with family and celebrate the New Year. Family was playing a card game in the hotel breakfast dinning/lobby area while I was playing a coin pusher game also in the lobby. The hotel desk had a sign saying the pool closed at midnight. Which was great as hotels seem to be closing pools earlier and earlier.|However, after the staff member for overnights closed down the pool, they rudely informed us the the lobby/public areas where now closed too and that we had to returned our hotel rooms. If this was policy it should have been posted on a sign in the lobby just like the pool hours are and not rudely told how we needed to quit playing our card game and leave the area. This “policy” was also not listed in the hotel guest book...

We visit Thief River several times a year & stay at the AmericInn during many of those visits. Previously, we've been happy with the accomodations, but recently, the quality has declined. During our last visit, the ice machine & the vending machines were broken (although we could get ice from the front desk if there was any left). The pool area is almost always out of towels, the mechanical room was taped closed with duct tape & the water level in the pool was so high that it flooded the entire pool sitting area (more than 1 staff member walked through & didn't say or do anything).
