Rodeway Inn Towanda — Hotel in Towanda

Does not meet the choice hotels brand standard in my opinion, and I very rarely stay at a hotel that is not part of the choice hotels group.

Front desk staff was unable to provide satisfactory customer service.

From the outside, the hotel looks to be recently updated and appeared to be in good repair. Looked like a decent place to stay for a few nights when visiting the area.

Rooms were not exceptionally clean; one would think they were decorated for Halloween due to the amount of spider webs along the windows and in the corners of the rooms. The bed spread was dirty and stained; bed linens were clean but definitely showed signs of age. Shower curtain looked like a science project with pink mildew growing on the curtain. No need for a wake-up call, as the sound of housekeeping pushing their carts up and down the hallway will most definitely wake you up. Bath towels were low quality, rough and old, almost every towel had signs of wear (loose threads, fraying, etc) on the edges of the towels. Rooms could definitely use a little more sound proofing.

Fitness center was okay, but no towels and/or sanitizing liquid was provided to wipe down fitness equipment. The AC unit was off in the fitness center, so at the start of the workout the room was excessively hot. Fitness center could definitely use better ventilation as there was no air movement in the space. Fitness machines were lower quality consumer equipment, but they were at least in working order.

While the hotel claims to be smoke free, the smoke from the bar patrons seemed to collect in the hallways, so it was pretty common to walk out of the hotel room and smell cigarette smoke in the hallways. Noise from the bar and bar patrons was loud enough to keep one awake, very difficult to get to sleep with the amount of noise coming from the bar. Room definitely had an unique smell.

The free Wi-Fi is definitely not high speed and appeared to be overloaded with traffic, web pages would not load. Definitely not fast enough to telecommute or to stream audio/video. While the rooms do have newer LCD televisions the quality of the image is definitely not HD, some channels were not even a good SD quality.

Never did get to try the free continental breakfast as every day we went down to the lobby for breakfast it was cleaned up already, would have been nice to have information in the room indicating what time breakfast was served.

Never did find the restaurant and indoor hot tub the hotel lists in...

Me my husband and our 4 year old son came to Towanda and needed a place to sleep for the night so we called around and this was the only place we called that had rooms available. we passed the place up at first because there was a fire truck,ambulance,and 2 or 3 other vehicles there with emergency lights on and so we thought maybe we should try some other places. With no luck we went back and the emergency people were gone, so we stopped I went in and asked about a room and what was going on with the fire trucks n things. The man at the desk just kinda laughed and said someone had called them complaining about a possible gas leak because the smell. (Which was strong) but said they didn't find anything. So I paid for room and checked in. When we got to our room it was freezing cold. Had no smoke detector, several lights were blown or completely out, the window to the room was unlocked and open, there was a door connecting to the room next to us with a door for each side but u couldn't lock it, so I placed a chair in front of it. The chairs in the room were very dirty and as u can see in the picture not in very good shape. The lookout hole in the door leading to the outside was missing the glass part, and someone had placed a piece of toilet paper in it. I was really upset that we had just paid 108 dollars for this kind of quality.....but we really had no choice but to stay. It was the only available room in the town and it was already too late to keep driving. I honestly would not recommend anyone stay here. Not a fun...

Chelsea the office clerk is extremely nice and goes beyond the call of her job to make sure your stay is pleasant and comfortable. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t book my room or the rooms for my employees. I was charged 5 times for a 2 day stay and charged for a service dog by an employee that I will not say the name but she straightened it out immediately and gave me her cell said call me at home if it’s not right. I called to book my room and my employees room and she wasn’t in so I called her cell she took care of my reservations and everything. The rooms are clean the bar is nice Bobbi Jo the bartender is excellent and so sweet. Chelsie and Bobbi Jo makes this place. The price for what you’re offered at the motel is high especially for winter. I tell you what I really don’t like is how Chelsie was treated today by two individuals that works at the motel. One raised his voice at her and the other in which today was the first time I seen him he talked down to her like be littling her in front of others. He spoke to me as if I was stupid when I told him the internet didn’t work in the room. This isn’t the first time I’ve had this problem of not getting internet in a room and I’m far from stupid. I told him the dryer didn’t work he said ok I try to fix it maybe sometime today. I’m like ok. Let’s just be clear Chelsie and Bobbi Jo makes the place. They need to appreciate them two more...
